i havent gotten burned off ebay yet, but ive only made about 5 purchases. i didnt have any problems with hifi sound connection, but their checkout system sucks. just make sure you read the description and ask any questions. big sellers tend to fudge up model numbers and specs and dont always have good pics. when you look at feedback, 99.9% doesnt mean chit when all the good was 12 months ago and they are on a downhill slide. read the past couple months feedback and look for neutrals and negatives. saw one guy that was nice to everyone who gave him positive, but if you gave him neutral or negative he would bash, name call, and generally be an ass. avoid those types of people. and always pay with paypal!!

Fi Q18, itty bitty infinity reference comp, idmax 12, infinity VQ 12d

you might be clipping it and making the power dirty. creating excessive heat. i could send my Q 1500w of clean power all day, or i could burn it up with 800w of dirty power in 5 minutes. set your gains and bass boosts properly and you wont have any problems.

the * means subject to change if you add options. the specs are for the base woofer. if you add options, the specs will change. like on the BTL, adding a 3rd magnet will increase mounting depth and displacement. other options will increase power handling.

the police. ahhh. good times. . they wont hassle you much over tint. 35% up front is legal here and you can do anything you want out back. the only way they would hassle you over tint is if you are pissing them off. so be respectful and they wont cut it. BUT, and its a big but, anyone traveling through gulfport might want to keep the radios down. they are getting pretty hardcore out there with a noise ordinace. up to $1000 fines. and they wont pick on anyone except people with loud stereos. biloxi isnt too bad, but watch out in downtown gulfport.

i had some of those infinity VQ subs. 4 12s actually. curiosity got the best of me and they were on sale too boot. they were quite nice but like mentioned, changing inserts wasnt very hard or time consuming, but you basically found one you liked and stuck with it. it is pretty cool tho that one woofer can sound like 3 totally different woofers from a little 1lb chunk of steel.

i found the subs to be priced very very well for what you get in return. and if there is a military discount, then my dad will probably start a thread asking about AAA or AARP discounts.

with a name like scott, he's gotta be a good guy. i jumped on my chance to get a Q early on just from hearing the reputation scott had. i must say, the reputation speaks for itself. subs are awesome, service is superb. now just make a Fi 8. maybe you could put a fi dustcap on one of the new assassins.

you might also want to look into why the fuse is all melted. you could replace the fuseblock while you are at it.

for real. be considerate. you can sound deaden your car and be 150db plus on the inside and barely hear it on the outside. anybody can rattle their chit and make a bunch of noise, sounding good while getting loud should be the goal. in my area the police are enforcing the 100ft rule on stereos with $1000 fines and your car getting impounded because of people wanting "to be heard a block away". so kindly rethink what you are doing if you dont want this kind of crap in your area. i see a lot of people jump in on big bass as a fad, they get it, blare it, get ticketed and sell it off and leave the sport. this is our hobby. dont ruin it for the rest of us just so you can be cool for 2 weeks. and as far as loud exhausts, i call the cops and harass them on that. ever since the 100ft noise ordinance was passed, they have only targeted stereos. they have signs everywhere saying "turn it down or pay it up". but i have never seen a harley pulled over for loud exhaust. when cruisin the coast comes into town i hear v8s with no exhaust all day (doing burnouts with the cops approval no less). imports, they get picked on because the cops dont like them. if they want a law, it should be enforced fairly across the board, not at the officers selection on what he likes and dislikes.

as far as i know that amp is class a/b. if you want a similar amp thats class D, look at the Autotek MM1400.1. (ebay for around $300) its rated at 1400w @ 1ohm but has been benched at 1700w. ive got two of them. one is running a Q18 at 2 ohms(1000w), the other powering a pair of IDMAXs at 1ohm. both of which are slammin.

i must have missed a thread, but what is the BP Power option? its not listed in the woofer options and enclosures stickies. what does it do, why does it do it, and how will this affect the driver as a whole?

i just changed out 1 18 for 2 12s. still using the same amp, the 2 12s are "louder" because they are tuned at 32 vs 30. but that is just my situation. if you really want louder, get the damn BTL.

never underestimate the Q what kind of power you putting to it? my box was pretty similar except 80in of port at 30hz.

you be better off selling that amp and using the money to buy 1 large amp. i speak from experience. i did something similar using 2 4 ohm amps on a large woofer. i set the gains with a DMM so they shouldve been really close. but there were differences in the amps and one side was over powered which killed my sub's surround a few months later. but hey, recones are cheap. do what you will.
