    saz 3000d power supply questions

Honestly yellow tops are ok but not that great and they're actually not made for audio. It voids the warranty if you hook them up in an audio application(which a lot of people don't know). A decent sized XS batt under the hood and 1 D3100 should do you fine.

    saz 3000d power supply questions

With 3.6K on a 270 amp alt and 1 D3100 you should be just fine. I don't see you having any issues. As far as mis matching batts it has been said that they will push and pull on each other and drain themselves. I have seen people who have gotten away with it but I have never tried it myself so I won't comment. Again though you should be fine with one D3100 and if you really want to play it safe then scoop up 2 of them. I always add overkill to my setups.

Look what DC Power sent me

Here's my build log from the other forum. Towards the end of it there's a video showing the voltage at both 1500 rpms and at idle (with the system at full tilt). Feel free to make fun of my country ass accent lol. But it's a good example of what these alts can put out. http://forum.realmofexcursion.com/build-logs/71046-tremonics-build-log.html

Look what DC Power sent me

I have a lot of wire and 5 D3100's total (one under hood and 4 in back) which is overkill for what I have now but it's really for future plans. The fact is, is I never even see batt voltage right now because the alt doesn't let it get that low. I only drop to 13.9 periodically when it's 100 degrees outside. If it's not a really hot day I don't drop below 14.2. These are some seriously strong alts.

    saz 3000d power supply questions

The D3100 is supposed to be able to support 4000 watts as an extra batt. If you want to throw in some overkill get 2. Everything else sounds good with your electrical.

Look what DC Power sent me

Funny you ask, I wondered the same. I down shifted and rpms were plus 4k and voltage was the same. I am going to redo some connections this afternoon(not that any connections appear incorrect). I will post pics of what my wiring is after. I have a feeling I need a direct ground from alt to battery. There really isn't anything else it could be imo but I will look. Thanks Kyle. For what it's worth I have an SAZ4500 on one 270XP with no direct alt to batt ground and I don't drop below 13.9. I have a second alt but don't have the bracket to put it on yet so I'm currently running off of one.
  7. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. Have some Kinetik's failed? Sure. Every battery brand has failures. XS batteries have failed. NSB batteries have failed. Having not seen every battery failure from every company and the conditions of every failure, and the overall failure rates from every battery company, etc etc, I think we can both agree that it's possible for your perspective to be a bit skewed by your limited personal experiences (limited compared to the total number of battery sales and failures, etc etc). Are Kinetik's the best competition battery? I honestly have no idea. From the brief outline of the OP's system, it would appear less of a comp system and more of a daily beater. Being better in the lanes does not make a battery the best in every circumstance. There will be different requirements for a comp battery compared to a daily driving battery. However, Kinetik has been used successfully in multiple competition systems and has a couple 180db titles under their belt. I totally agree. Everyone is going to have their own opinions and I am just one amongst many. Yes every battery company will have failures. Hell every company in the world across all different types of products is going to have failures. It's the nature of the beast. I am again just speaking from my experience and voicing my opinion and the way I feel personally is that in the world of batts these days (for our application) they are a bit lower on the list. I'm not bashing them and I know they have been in some crazy loud cars and I have respect for that and for them as a company. I just maintain a certain standpoint as you do. But as you said these standpoints are based on our limited personal experiences.
  8. Anyways, I would disagree with the previous poster to stay away from Kinetik. They are high quality well performing batteries. I only speak from what I have seen. As I said before they make some decently strong batts. I have just seen failures from them as well as much better performance from other brands.
  9. I gotcha man. I'm not trying to say your wrong here. I know how they work and how they can get screwed up. He charged (as you said "woke up")his battery and it was resting at 12.9 after a while of resting. I was telling him that he was good to go. If it had been resting at 10V it would have been a different story, we all know that. Your info is good, I'm just saying that in this situation he doesn't have any issues.
  10. Yes basically the point was that CCA ratings have nothing to do with the battery he was talking about in the application he was using it for. And he was reading 12.56 volts at rest after it had sat for a while so no issues there either.

    square sub vs roudn sub?

Ok captain douche bag, like you can't comprehend what he's trying to say?Not that its well put or anything. wow PHI didnt know you were a captain! and you are now officially a female cleaning product! CAPTAIN FEMALE CLEANING PRODUCT = PHI I'm actualy tired of reading the "this sub ~vs~ that sub" threads that are posted on this site. People listen and listen good, it depends a lot on the installation!!!!!!!! Stick any sub in a cardboard box and it'll sound like shit. Put any sub with an inferior power application, it'll sound like shit....... For the love of God! Do some research or testing before you post up a question or opinion! A little work goes a long way when making a statement regarding any equipment. Such things need to be included such as, what type of ride, what type of enclosure, power supply, ect....... Square ~vs~ round......? Here's a good question, which would fly farther if thrown with two hands? (I don't care if this cost me a few rep points, just had to get this out there!!! sorry) I can understand your frustration as I feel the same way sometimes about certain things that get said. On the other side of the fence though isn't that what these forums are for? To ask questions and get opinions / feedback? The dedicated audio guys have seen the threads, done the research and spent countless hours learning and trying new things but not everyone has. We were all new to this at one point and had to ask the same type of questions. I'm not trying to bash you or start an argument here I just don't think it's right to cut the throat of someone who is seeking an edjucated opinion. Just my 2 cents

    It's been since January..... NOTHING

Ok so as I have said from the start I am going to post the good with the bad in this thread. I finally received an email from Troy today. Here it is. Hi this is Troy from tejcurrent. I am still waiting on the arrival of my cnc, and I'm getting my shop set up. The other shop I have been talking to has fallen through, so it will be at least a month before I have a bracket ready to ship. I am sorry it has taken so long, and that it will be at least a month longer. If you would like to wait I will make sure you are taken care of- and I will do whatever it takes to make up for your wait. I understand how long you have waited, so if at any point you want a refund please let me know and one will be issued. Thank you for your patience, just let me know if you have any questions. Troy Jones I have asked him if any of this is actually true. I have also informed him about my posts on this forum and in other places as I am a straight up guy and won't say anything behind someones back that I would not say to their face. I still think the amount of time that it took for me to receive ANY communication is rediculous (haven't heard anything since May 2nd and was told the bracket would be done by the end of that week. I originaly ordered on January 20th with a 3 week MAX promise of delivery) however he has stated what is in this email above so that's that. I will proceed from here with my case and leave this thread alone unless something else comes up. I hope others have received communication from him? If not at least you know he's still alive.

A new (to me) Subwoofer Company

Yes that's why I said they do get loud and handle power etc etc. They're definitely not anywhere near a bad woofer it just seems that because of some videos a ton of people think that they're the godzilla of the sub world. Again I'm not bashing FI. I just get tired of certain people, or types of people. Anyways just my 2 cents. I AM A get out of this sandbox now and leave this alone. Way to be a great business man though.

Is the BTL such a big goal to shoot for? I know they handle power and get loud etc etc but they're not the end all of subs. A LOT of manufacturers have great products that get plenty loud including SSA. Ugh the BTL is on some videos and everyone thinks that FI is some type of godly company. Btw I'm not trying to jump on you baked I just hear BTL so much I get sick of it.

OUCH!!! Don't know how you know that but thanks!!! Good thing I'm a fan of the Zcons instead lol Yeah they're pricey. IMO you can get the same performance for less money with the multitude of brands that are out there right now.

10"-$747 12"-$781 15"-$824 These are for the Ultrasonics. The second best sub they make, one step down from the neo.

Any plans for a beefy 6.5?

Thanks for the heads up, but, I've known Massive to be pretty expensive, and their RK6 line doesn't disapoint, its price is 350... Thats kinda steep for me ATM. I'm pretty confindent that SA would be a lil bit more wallet friendly. I hear ya man. I have no doubt that SA will be more wallet friendly with the same amount of performance. I was just throwing an option out there for something to play with until they get their 6.5's finished and produced. Definitely not trying to turn anyone away from SA, I love their products.

I hear you there. Man do I wish I COULD get this corrected as others do also. Not being able to get in touch with this guy in ANY way kind of limits my ability to that though. I don't know what else to do short of driving to Conway and tracking him down which is very close to happening.

Still nothing guys. I have posted on here, his youtube account, PM'ed him on ROE, emailed him several times and tried calling numbers that people have given me and still got nothing. Troy your pucking scamming us. Can this guy be banned? He doesn't deserve to have this proffesional vendor thread so that he can scam people out of more money in the future.

Until SA comes out with some you can check out the Massive RK6 and RX6. They're some beefy 6.5 components.
