    port area 4 15" ns

will b building a new box soon, & tryin to figure out how much port area you'll recommend 4 a 15" ns in a 3.5 cube box? I have it n a 4.8 cube box now, & it sounds good. using 3 4" aeros @ 32 hz. not sure if I want to use the aeros or a slot 4 the new built, would like to use the 3 4"s but ill b to long 4 my box. so I'm thinkin maybe only usin 2 4". what u think?

yea I know the rules, tryin to see if jake recommends closer to 12 or 16 & above for optimal (loud & deep). it sounds great n the box its n now, its just way to big. I want it to sound the same (or better) in a smaller box

    port area 4 15" ns

thanks, but I know how to design my boxes, & 2 6"s will be way to long to fit n my box. I'm just tryin to figure out how much port area would b optimal for a 15" n a 3.5 cube box (aero & slot)

    Powering a sundown 4500d

the alt depends on your vehicle for size and availability. with that much power the minimum ill do is 2 runs of 1/0. and no 1 battery will not be enough ( will it depends on how u plan on runnin the amp) but no and p.s. -- its 1/0 not 0/1

should I get a volt meter?

how much runs u doin? and with that much power, i wouldve worried about the electrical first! i wouldnt even install the second amp until you get the ho alt
  12. i was wondering if i will be able to hook my batteries up like this or is the only way is to daisy chain them? - - i know this is the rite way, but just want to know if its possible to do it the other way reason for askin is limited on wire at the moment
  13. itll definitely help, the more the better. but in my case im a lil short on wire and im positioning the batteries a certain way.
  14. no because it 's a floating ground meaning no ground attached to chassis. and for the other two there the same just different pattern in the wire but there in parallel. which will be just fine. if you use the third i suggest connecting a bat ground to frame. lol, yea forgot to add that.
  15. ok cool, one more ? how about like this:

New setup, doesn't sound too good *pics*

what the 45 angle? u mean 45s in the corners? Yes, far opposite the port. y they put a 12 x 12 45 angle in the box?

  19. because we know what the problem is now and now we are just getting off topic whats the problem?
  20. ground are normally suppose to be under 3ft. unless you have a direct run from the front battery
  21. check over your wiring, especially your ground. could yo dad get me a oscope for cheap?
  22. how much are recones
  23. yeah i live in a little town called Hickory... there arnt many options. does the amp cut off or just the sub?
  24. do this... but something is not rite. you need to go back over your wiring again b4 you go buyin more equipment. does the sub just stop or does the amp cut off/ go into protect? only with 1200 watts, a 120a alt and big 3 you shouldnt be seein that big of a drop. Agree with everything you said. 1200w on a 120a alt and a good battery should not be a big deal as long as they are both in good working order. well i think my starting battery may have been bad. today i bought a new starting battery and put it in. it was a DieHard international. Its all i could find. Now my question is do i get another battery for the back or will i be fine if i go buy a 1 Farad Capacitor from the audio shop? Also going to invest in like a DMM or something. I like the stinger digital meter so i might buy one of those and do a custom little job to make it look decent. your buyin equipment without really knowin what the problem is. it may not be your battery. and your thinkin about the wrong meter. were talkin about digital multimeter <---- this is what u need now
