Whats the best way to cut a 14in diameter hole in plexiglass? Also, cut a 5in diameter hole in fiberglass? Thanks.

I'm changing subs cuz I wanna try a single sub setup, I wanna try a 15 as I've never had one to toy with, and cuz I'm bored with it lol. I'm not tryin to improve anything, I'm tryin to make a change, but make the best change of that makes sense.

I think the saying "you get what you pay for" is true. That bein said would it be wiser to get a better quality 10" sub or a lesser quality 15" sub? Or is that just a favor of difference in a punchy 10 or versatile 15?
-
Also I have room I really don't care about trunk space lol I have 2 sa-12s ported right now.
-
Considering the fi ssd 15 as of now. Xmax is 20mm I think
-
I like the ssd, would I be more suited with a 10 or 15? I listen to rap mostly, but other stuff here and there and I want sq mainly.
-
Whatever need be really. Right now I have a 1200d mono hifonics and bouta get my sundown 1200d mono repaired. But I can always get an amp to match the sub.
-
What 10" would you recommend for sq in the 200 dollar range?
-
It'll be a daily setup in my altimas trunk. Goin for sq over spl.
-
As versatile I mean like pick up those low bass notes and keep up with the higher ones

Building a new box for 1 15". Was gunna make it an abnormal shape as opposed to the everyday cube. I've heard that less parallel sides results in less standing waves, but I don't think it would be too noticeable in car audio. Anyway my point is wanting opinion on the ideal shape of a box. Also plan to port it. Thanks.
-
Is there anything you've ever heard of or done to a box that's uncommon and maybe out of the ordinary that increases sq? I'm aiming for sq I don't care about spl so much lol. Just wantin to try and discover new things pretty much.

Would it be a benefit to help the air flow of the port. Like add angles causing a smoother flow of air from the driver to and throughout the vent?

Looking to get a new 15" sub to replace my 2 SA-12's. I am very pleased with them, but i am just wanting to try something new and have been itching to build a new box lol. Looking for sound quality over anything else. Price range is around $200. Will be most likely going in a ported box in the trunk of my altima. Just wanting some suggestions of good quality 15" subs in my price range. Thanks in advance!
-
I havent built the box yet. And i have SA-12s and i wanna try a 15 out so i might as well explore other brands outside of sundown. The sound is smooth right now and to my liking, again i dont have a shit setup right now or anything, just wanting to change it up a bit, build a new box, and explore other subs in the world of car audio.

Thanks man for the help, and everyone else lol. I think I AM A go for the SSD and just go all out on the box and make up for SQ that way.
-
Me... Thats mostly why im even changing my setup at all, to build another box lol.
-
Additional info: Im MOST LIKELY going to keep my Hifonics 1200w @ 1 ohm amp to push whatever i get so keep that in mind...

Ok well thats very close to the price of a FI Q, would the ICON still outweigh the Q in terms of quality?
-
I'm aware that SQ would improve with the ICON over the SSD, but the dilemma is whether or not it is THAT much of a difference to spend the extra money for that quality. Like would the difference in sound quality of the subs be so noticeable that spending the extra money is a must? And any idea on what a ICON 15" runs for price wise?
-
i am definitely building the box As far as pricing goes, from the FI website: FI SSD 15": $224 FI Q 15": $304 For the SSA DCON and ICON idk pricing, maybe someone on here does?
-
Yea i would like I know the advantage of going for an icon over the ssd. Then again if I raise my budget and to that of the icon, would an fi q fall in that price range and would that be a better choice than the icon?
-
Oh damn idk why i was thinking the opposite lol. As far as DCON vs. SSD goes, the rms difference is really swaying me towards the SSD. Any reason i shouldnt have my mind changed on that factor?
-
Thats another plus on the FI SSD, american built lol. And what you mean where am i building the box?
-
I'm liking the FI SSD 15" im probably gunna go with that one...
