Head Unit Repair
emperorjj1 replied to emperorjj1's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
well its supposed to... Model number is the CQ-DVR909U I dont have the manual so i cant check that but it says on the face dvd-audio and specs on the net list it as compatable. Manufact date is June 2000 -
I was wondering if i should do another run of wire from the alt to the bat? This is for my second alt to the batteries in the trunk. Right now i have a single T30001bd amp and a single run of 2/0 and i was looking at getting a second T30001bd amp. If i go ahead and get the second amp should i do a second run of wire?
-
also i barely would have enough 2/0 for a second run. So assuming i do a second run of wire should i use it for that run and connect my 2 batteies in the back with 1/0? or what should i do there? I dont think i can find any more fosgate 2/0

oh ya the mt has a blank dustcap and looks damn sexy... i was running a "JVC home theatre sub from 1992"
-
Just wanted to say thanks to scoot and fi for helping me get some materials i needed to get my sub up and running for a usaci competition today. Got 3rd place with a 146.9 but more importantly had a blast.
-
nah i didnt take any pics... setup is a single 15 MT, T30001bd
-
ya its hard to explain what im looking for. I like the movie theatre experaince and i really want to replicate it in my car. Then again i really liked the sound of say the bmw rainbow car at CES. lol im probably more confused then anything
-
Easy instead of using misapplied buzz words actually try and put sentences to describe what you want using everyday terms. Ok im looking for Everything to blend well, good overall sound but i like loud. Im obviously going to get a peak in the sub freqs but i want everything else to be able to catch up with it. I also want surround sound. I dont want my car to sound like a concert but more like a well tuned THX theater. I also want to be able to play music videos in the car. My Equipt: 2 05 RE XXX 15s 2 RF HX2 8" ~4 RF FNQ 6.5 mids 8 FNX tweeters 2 4" FNQ mids RF T30001bd RF 301x RF 301m RF 801x RF 801s RAVDVD1 panasonic dvd-audio HU 2 RF 3sixty.2 Alpine Headrest screen for center consol laptop with busted screen Equipment im looking at: (new midrange up front) either CDT ES-07s or Hertz Hi-Energy maybe new midbass like the hi-energy 8" Fiberglass pods for both front and rear speakers along with the centers mounted somehow Some type of new or better HU configuration

i agree with you alot with that statement and i agree that alot of people want loud but not a one not wonder but may be a little "sq oriented" How would a person like that ask for help in say building a system?
-
more strands> less strands Copper>aluminum the second would be most important and i myself would pay extra for actual copper
-
lol gotta be blunt to get thru peoples heads.... took a while to work on me and i still could use a head butt or two to get some stuff thru
-
Because there's music out there that has content down there... plus its so fun
-
Not at all what this poster wants. He just wants loud. I would guess that the OP coudn't tell the difference between 40hz and 60hz and will be fine with a one note wonder. Just get the damn BTL's, port them, and continue to pretend they have good SQ and be happy. actually its exactly what i want and yes i do konw the difference between a high note and a low note...but thanks for the checkup i guess... and the manufacturer calls for a ported box on the assumption the buyer wants an spl sub...and i know for a fact no one has ever put every sub theyve had in a manuf. sugg. box...if they did, there would be no such thing as a custom enclosure, or am i mistakin when thinkin a custom box is fabricated to meet the unique 'custom' desires of the buyer ...who knows...but theres alot of doubt in this and i love provin folks wrong so maybe i will maybe i wont lol...who knows... and as far as a fart box goes...i was under the impression that the fart/burp was the sound that is generated from the sub in a db drag...not that it refered to the trunk rattle...i could care less if my trunk rattles i mean hell its gunna have 4000kw throwin sound right at it, as long as it sounds good in my car, im fine. and i listen to southern rap which hits alot of pitches despite popular belief, rock, a lotta country, neo soul and r&b...pretty ecclectic in my music choices... No offence bro but the BTL is an spl sub. you can throw it in whatever ported sealed, bandpass, ib, t-line doesnt matter the sub is an spl sub. The original purpose for it was comps but scott being a smart man realized that alot of his sales were going to bass heads not competitors and slightly changed the options where it can be more reliable for a daily car. Unfortunatly ive never herd the BTL but ive herd its sister woofer the MT. Ive herd it in ported boxes all the way from 45hz down to 30 and it sounds bad. Loud as no other but chitty sq. Im not talking about rattles at all im talkign about the sound the sub makes

not sure if dealers has helped dd much but i work for a dd dealer and its helped us quite a bit
-
ya i went with 2 05 RE XXX 15s.... Im only running one sealed right now and its actually satisfied pretty much all my goals
-
i wanted the exact same thing... sq but loud
-
lol honestly you sorta sound like me a year ago... im pretty satisfied with my 05 XXX woofers
-
hell ya sq ftw. Im sorta pissed thou bc my "new" panasonic HU wont read the discs i bought it for
-
I Just got the ca clue for my dustcaps and now i finally have 2 working XXX 15s. I jacked my friends sealed box he built for his XXX 15 in a trunk and due to size i have it facing up at an angle. It sounds loud as fudge even running at 1kw and actually keeps up to techno as compared to the ported box i had before (made for an MT so the bar wasnt set high) Anyway i sorta have 2 options interms of a box for me. I can either Try a T-line for a single 15 running off 1kw (only issues are size because its a 32" box and the top of my trunk is only 31"... i sorta want to see if a chitload of sanding may work to give me the angle i need and how well it may work for the XXX because it was designed by Team toxic bass for an RE SE or something like that) Or have 2 woofers in a sealed box off 3kw? Some things im also considering when making the decision... which one would have the best sq? which one would be loudest? and if my electrical can handle 3kw right now?
-
then why dont you try the bls or qs first? If a woofers specs make it so it wont sound good in a certain type of box then it wont sound good in that box type no matter what. Hey where do you live btw?

is the acc wire live? did you test it to make sure you dont need a fuse tap?
