Going through some stuff I had in the attic and I ran across a Hifonics Thor Series VII amp Hooked it up in my truck and it works great. Only rated at 250 watts but running it bridged with a kicker 10" truck box and it pounds! Anyone know much about this relic? and of course I find it a month after buying a kicker zx400.1 amp for my Trans Am...would of used it and saved some cash.

My fault It actually sounds pretty good to me for what it is. I took from your post that it's not a very good amp and probably wouldn't be worth it to replace. If I go ahead and replace it does anyone make an adapter to fit the stock amp harness to convert it to rca jacks? I'm trying to keep the wiring intact in case I ever put it back to stock. Thanks

I just installed a Kicker 10"sub enclosure/ZX400.1 amp and 4 Kenwood 6.5 component sets in my 2000 Trans am running them off the stock Monsoon amp. I have an older Pioneer GM-H120 amp sitting around collecting dust. Specs aren't that much at: 4 x 30W @ 4 ohms (0.05% THD) 4 x 45W @ 2 ohms (0.05% THD) 2 x 90W @ 4 ohms bridged (0.05% THD) Would it be worth the trouble to replace the Monsoon with this? I installed the Kicker with some Kenwood component for the front/rear and it sounds excellent. Hard to believe how good one 10" sub can actually sound compared to the factory 6.5dvc subs. Another quick question would be what crossover should this sub be set at? 50/80? Also I assume both the headunit and amp should be set to the same frequency. I have some experience at setting up amps but not like you guys do! I highly appreciate any/all help you give. Are kicker amps usually underrated? It's supposedly a 400 watt amp but has a birth sheet that states it put out 472

I'm installing a Kicker tc104 sub in my trans am and have a choice from 2 amps, either a old school Autotek 7100bts or a Kicker ZX400.1 I just picked up. Which one would you prefer to use? I'm not trying to blow the windows out or anything, just trying to get some better sounds over the stock setup. Thanks for any input you may have.

I recently installed a pair of Kenwood component speakers in my 00 Trans Am's doors, but for some reason didn't think about the crossovers that came with the speakers till after the install The original ones are hooked up but just want to know if I should pull it apart and replace them with the right ones or will the original ones be ok?
