  1. Your talking about the fuse at the battery? yea, i bought a 50A fuse for my inline fuse holder at the battery hoping it will hold me untill i got my circuit breaker. the AQ1200 itself has three 40A fuses. those are for the internal part of the amp the might not blow if other things are wrong. do u think there is a chance of the amp being blown if the fuses are still fine?

  3. i started smelling the electrical thing when i put in the 50A fuse (and it was kinda stong. u could almost smell it outside of the car) but i disconnected it right after. the 50A fuse wasnt blow either. could that cause anything?? im sure the fuses on the amp would have blown.
  4. Could be the remote turn on. yea, u could be right, i didnt check the power on the remote wire, but i do believe its fine. Even if it was that though, y would the amp smell like burning wire?
  5. the sub is wired to 1 ohm
  6. the smell is comming from the amp. the sub is fine. the amp is not in protection mode. the three 40A fuses on the amp seem fine. the amp isnt powering up at all but there is proper voltage going to it. its weird.

Hookup FI Q to Audioque Amp

I have a 10" FI Q and a Audioque AQ1200 amp. The amp is a mono but it has 2 speaker terminals. How should it be hooked up?? The sub is a Dual 2 ohm, wired to 1 ohm. The way I have it hooked up right now is 1 positive wire going to the positive connector on terminal 1 and the negative wire going to the negative on terminal 2. Is this correct?? I just want to make sure the amp is giving out a 1 ohm load also so i get the most out of the system. http://www.audioque.com/assets/images/AQ1200_3.jpg Thanks -Mike

Hookup FI Q to Audioque Amp

Nop, i dont have a multimeter. Ill try to get one tomorrow and check. Im sure my voltage isnt too low, possibly around 10-11ish...how much of a difference in watts or volume can 14.4 volts vs. 10.5 volts be?

Hookup FI Q to Audioque Amp

Alright, thanks a lot man. I asked because I feel like i need more power. The sub could definitely take more power. I feel that the amps clips to easily and the sub can get louder. the 1200w on the AQ website is at 14.4 volts. Im not sure if the voltage makes a significant difference in volume or watts, but im on stock electrical. my alternator is a 110amp and im on a stock battery. Im not sure of the exact voltage im at.

    Is My Fi Q Broken????

Hello forum. I have an FI Q sub which i have received on 7/15/2011. I finally got it professionally installed on 7/26/2011 by my local audio shop a few days after receiving my Audioque AQ1200 amp. It was playing fine until after about 5 hours of play time. The only extra option it has is the cooling package. I hear a weird rattling noise comming from the sub itself. I thought at first maybe it was my car rattling, or the box, but then i took the sub out and played it in free air for a few seconds and came to the conclusion that it was the sub. it sounds almost as if your hitting the dust cap with ur knuckles or the license plate is vibrating. other than that, the sub does still play, sounds solid except for that rattling noise which is completely messing up the total sound. so i dont believe its blown as i dont smell any odor or smoke. the louder u play, the louder the sound is. sounds like something is loose inside. the suspension still feels solid. What could be the problem??? Is this part of the breakin period??? Please help me!! Sub: FI Q, Dual 2 ohm, Cooling Package, Red Dustcap Amp: Audioque AQ1200 Running at 1 ohm load Thank You! -Mike

    Is My Fi Q Broken????

Sounds great! Do you recommend removing the whole dustcap, clean the old glue off, then reseal it with the 15 minute epoxy? I don't think you will be able to remove the dust cap without breaking it. I would just put some epoxy around it and if you can push some under where it released. alright, thanks! Ill try it tomorrow.

    Is My Fi Q Broken????

hey guys. Thanks for all ur replies. It is the dustcap. the glue broke off on the bottom left. Whats the best way to fix it?? i just held the open section with a flat head screw driver and put a line of glue on the area. Im not even sure if i glued it down right because it was dark and it was really hard to have the section open to put the glue without ripping off the rest of the dust cap. Whats the best way to fix it?? Should i just rip off the whole dustcap, clean the old glue, and glue it back (if it comes off again)?? and what should i use to glue it?

    Is My Fi Q Broken????

Yea, hopefully its something i can just glue back...Ill check it tomorrow then post up right away. It can't be a major issue if its still playing good though right (other than the rattle)?? Doesnt sound like im gonna need a whole new sub im hoping...

From: Is My Fi Q Broken????

Ill also add that when i push down in the middle of the sub, on the FI decal/dustcap, with approximately 2-5 pounds of force, the sound stops.
