Jake I think you, Nick Lemons and Ant need to take a brake from work and vacation in hawaii.. If you guys do come down bring some party favors, like subs, amps, deadener etc you know the usual vacation stuff.. We have perfect weather, it's like 85 degrees, clear skies and 2~3ft surf on the north and east side.. I should snap some photos from my picture window of pearl harbor

Scott has told me that a BTL will take around 3 weeks to get to you.. things may have changed since i last talked to him a week ago...
-
nick no worries i'll hold the fort down LOL

Oh Jake please consider upping it's power handling closer to that of a sax-100.4 active... OMG i can see it now... Combo deal !! Thank you VERY much for going with a non-metallic non-harsh smooth sounding tweeter.... I want to hug you (not in a gay way)

How to Bypass Pioneer AVH-P4000?
theabunai replied to TooLoud4You's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Just grab a regular relay from the nearest car audio shop for like 4 bucks... Also FYI... When you wire the relay in you need to reset the unit by either hitting the reset button or unplugging the rear power plug.... -
Hey what about your sales rep ?? LOL

if he pulls you over you most likely will have to put your parking brake up thus he can't do anything... THat's what we tell customers... 2 people said it works... The cop can't ask you to put down your parking brake in hawaii to check it.. due to safety reasons AVic n1 2 versions.. first version only needed to ground the PB wire... the second version you have to remove a foil and solder a jumper wire AVic D series you need to remove the mute wire and shove it in the opening right above it then ground that wire and the parking brake wire... Avic Z series is the same if it was made before a certain date... after a certain date you can DL a program and burn it to CD... load it into the Z series deck and it will unlock video in motion.... You can DL this froma bunch of places... For the F series remove the Mute wire and Move it to the lower row, 4th pin from the left (empty pin between 2 black wires) the pin directly below the mute wire does not work then ground the mute wire and parking brake and you're good to go -
Dave thank you vERy much

With the relay you don't need to touch anything... A lot of OLDER decks you can just ground the parking brake wire... For the new 08 pioneers they made it a bit more tricky, you can't just ground the wire... Relay cost less then a switch, no drilling needed, no flicking it nothing..... When the deck turns on the remote wire has a slight delay added with the relays slight delay in switching does the EXACT same thing as a switch... Just wire it up and go... NC 1 what deck is that ?? -
I had it at either a cactus or a Custom sub from Soundsplinter/TC sounds.... He won't say what build house.... I don't know why the secrets... Don't understand the love of 4 slug....

you won't need to use the switch if you use a relay... the remote wire will turn the relay on and off for you in the same manner a switch would... The new 4000's from pioneer no longer support just grounding the Parking brake.... You don't need the parking brake wire of the car at all if you use the relay... The aprking brake wire in the relay is the one from the Headunit that is labeled "parking brake".. -
1. How do the subs play the lower octaves ? = With authority given the right enclosure and install 2. What kind of bass do they produce ?(DD slammy, Re wobble etc) = it can create all of those types of "bass" given the right enclosure and install 3. What subs can they be compared to ? (so I can get a understanding of how they are) = Can't really answer that, I don't know what subs you've heard in what type of enclosure and power.. But it can sound like most of the other subs given the right enclosure and install 4. The SQ of the sub. = can be phenomenal or crap it will depend on the enclosure and install... did i mention that a sub is really only as good as the enclosure and install... i think you know what i'm getting at... Seriously they can play low, they can sound like a DD or an RE and they can have phenomenal SQ... It's gonna ll depend on your enclosure... Figure out what type of bass you want and design your enclosure to reproduce that bass...

Ku sorry i didn't get the more surface area part... 2x8 port has 16" surface area... 4x4 port has 16" surface area... Am i missing something here or i misunderstood your post maybe... the 8:1 ratio is to keep port noise down (or scuffing) to a minimum...

we use a regular relay 85 and 87 = ground. 86 = Decks Remote turn on wire. 30 = parking brake wire from deck. -
It's Fi's new Infinite Baffle line.. Scott usually won't put a release date on things due to that fact that if unforeseen things delay the release people will go ape shit..

The Q is recommended for sealed or ported... the BL is recommended for ported... now that the Enclosure has changed the suggestion of what to run will change as well.. this has nothing to do with either subs capabilities but with the enclosure preference... The Q will be the sub of choice if you ware going to go sealed..
