Can i use a massive 3000.1 and wats teh magnet do

If i were to get a daily driver BTL i would probably get this at the very least the P Chamfer I would suggest the cooling though if you can afford the extra cash (This package comes with the P Chamfer) I would also get the HiXmCoil if you plan on beating these babies daily.. Just my personal preference

Can i use a massive 3000.1 and wats teh magnet do

http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/i...?showtopic=8406 that should answer your Power handling question... as for the third magnet This simply adds more clearance in use for the HiXmCoil. If you intend on using the sub for an SPL application Fi suggest that you get the 3rd slug with No cooling options and only the pole chamfer.

    amp selection

Yupp go with two for now... who knows based on the amps output and efficiency that may be all you need.... If not you can always add on later.... better then buying too much then not needing it... Yupp told ya denim will take care of ya

    Shirts and Stickers

I don't think you need to ask... i remember scott saying all subs purchased after the date the stickers were made will be including with the sub's.... If you didn't get stickers Scott said to just mail him a self addressed stamped envelope (i suggest a pretty good size one) and he will send you some free.... I'd send a big one so he puts one of those big Fi stickers along with the baby ones woot woot

    Price Increase?

He is the main tech support guy for Us Amps He can answer anything to do with specs and design as well as wattage output and your questions on the fuse ratings... I am sure flakko can get you the direct line or jrlutor he may have his number laying around

    amp selection

Jacob and sundown amps are highly underrated and his warranty and service are top notch.. It's not just about the product but the people behind the product as well... Not to say Lanzar has junk customer service.. I don't own a sundown but i know people who do... As well as lanzar products..... If you research both amps you will see a big difference in personalized Customer service, performance, efficiency and output per voltage...

    Box and sub advice

Your amp will work with the Q but if you plan on staying in that wattage range don't rule out an SSD with copper coils.... A sealed box will yield a smoother rolloff (which means that all frequencies will TRY to be played on an equal playing field without one freq peaking more than another)... Sealed is more forgiving with mistakes so yes it is easier to calculate (ported is harder to calculate but both take the same amount of effort to put together physically)... Ported will yield a peaky response usually targeted at the freq you desire causing a peaky response (which means when that freq is played it will be louder the then rest of the range).. Figuring out the ported enclosure port length can be done with online programs such as this http://www.subwoofertools.com/forum/ported-box.asp Just fill in the info from ficaraudio.com web site and it will calculate it for you Sealed also has a forumla to achieve a flat response (usually with a QTC of about .707) You can do that here http://www.lalena.com/Audio/Calculator/Box/ Pay close attention to metric values and standard values it is very important... it will spit out a volume result needed to achieve the smoothest possible rolloff for sealed enclosures... remember the when computing enclosure take the NET (or inside measurement) of the box and subtract the woofer displacement (once again found on ficaraudio.com website) for TRUE volume of the enclosure....

    Hifonics

I have heard by many posts accounts that they are over rated... But i haven't seen any solid tests that prove they are (which doesn't mean they aren't) just be wary of what you "hear" ...... I have 1K per sub to my SSD's and it's a true 1K (actually the CEA rating when the amp was tested was 1019 Watts) and My SSD's take it like champs (stable 13 volts with extra bats in the rear).... I would go for the 2006D providing your electrical is up to par and you adjust your gains correctly...

    amp selection

I would just check in on their forums on a weekly basis... In a posts Jacob mentioned he would let the price go down for a couple dealers... If so I would contact Denim (the admin of this board and owner of the SSaudio shop AND authorized seller of Sundown amps).... Denim will take care of you...

    amp selection

http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/i...?showtopic=7900 that's the info on the sundown 3000 It iwll probably run about the price of 2 saz-1500d so your looking at maybe $800 or so BUT Jacob (the owner of sundown) will posts the preorder when he gets stock in (probably in about a month or so)... the preorder is usually a couple hundred dollars cheaper the actual selling price... As for the alt... I had a 2007 scion tC i bought in December of 2006... contacted dom around feb and he already had a direct bolt on for my car (no custom braket, just remove the old one and put the new one on).... 300amp alt he quoted me about 560 bucks.... Trust me a lot of people (steve meade and many more competitors) swear by his alt's and the guy knows his chit....

    stiffer spider = more db's?

hmm I don't THINK that a stiffer spier gives more db... A stiffer spiders i believe keeps the coil from moving out of the magnet gap.... though i believe that Fi spiders when they get soft provide cleaner sound and during high output peaks the spiders probably get progressively stiffer so the coil doesn't move out of the gap reducing distortion.... Plus the Q's xmax is really high allowing for further excursion without reaching mechanical limits.... The soft spider the sub has during normal range of travel gives for a more smooth and natural response.... But i could be totally wrong here.... Nick, Shawn or scott will chime in soon.... great question though, I'd like to know just to soak up more knowledge....

    MD.1D

Do those amplifiers you speak of compare to the merlin in terms of watt, efficiency and over all delivery....? these amps can deliver power on even the stock electrical systems due to design.... Heat dissipation is a key factor in an amps ability to drop low on ohms and deliver accurate wattage..... I'd rather have the housing bigger allowing my amp to breathe and last longer play harder and more efficient in lower ohms rating, then to have a compact amp covering the board.... Heat sinks move heat away from the amps internals but at the same time metal retains heat.. imagine heating a piece of metal would you rather your hand be close to it or further away ?
