battery in the trunk
theabunai replied to madscientist's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
I actually had the same questions you had a while back I have a stock scion battery up front and a yellow top in the rear... Not one issue... system runs fine no more light diming... If you plan on running the system A LONG time with the engine off then i would recommend an isolator... If you're only gonna really run it while driving then none needed... I pound my stereo with the vehicle off for maybe at the longest 1/2 hour and no problems with the one up front -

No isolator no problems steady voltage at 13.4V the batt would depend on the Alt size and the current draw of your system -

Read this posts http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/i...st&p=257385 Invest in a DMM and monitor your voltage drop when the bass hits if your going below 12 volts, I suggest an extra battery or a HO alternator

Better late then never... yeah at the PD we use S&W 5906 9mm I've been to the gun range frequently and shot it with ear protection (the least i would use is those little plastic ones you stuff in your ear) and it sounded like baby firecrackers... When i did get into a shoot out at ala moana shopping center it actually full on startled me.... caused me to shake my hands more then when the guy was blowing off 12 gauge rounds my way.... I never hit the guy though most people think it's so easy but try aiming and hitting a 145lbs man in the dark in a parking lot with about 30 people (including kids) in the background while he ducks and dodges between cars blowing 12 gauge rounds... he doesn't need to account for stray rounds or if he hits a by stander but we do so you can imagine the situation... Well suffice to say got out of the PD after that... Still got my glock 9mm though we get to keep our off duty since we were former PD and will probably need the protection.... I also have an ar15... i would love to get a 30.6 though.....

assume is a strong word appleyard.... low electrical and high turn of the volume can = very bad things...
-
Nick of Fi caraudio taught me one of the better ways to do this... Turn the gains down on all your amps TURN OFF ALL BASS BOOST PERIOD Set your deck on the volume you usually play it at Slowly adjust the gain on your amps up till you hear distortion Then back down on the gains till the distortion subsides you can do this with the Front stage amps as well... Nick or anyone else if i am wrong please correct me

hmm I remember scott posting something about a spider for the SSD when he released the BP option... I think it was something along the lines of a new spider pack but i am not sure if that new spider was used when you get the bp option or if they are just using new spiders in general... ?
-
Just to clarify you can't get the flatwound AND copper coils... but you can get the BP option with copper coils..

Yeah damn man I am really surprised to see so many HI people here LOL... Yes actually Scott funny thing is MY sister lives in Vegas LOL.... she moved cause it is too expensive to live ANYWHERE in HI... I used to be a police officer here.... but we were getting paid only 35K a year and it wasn't cutting it... I got shot at once at a shopping mall and i called it quits with being only 2 years on the force... I almost packed my family and moved to vegas too but then my dad was retiring from A/C Sheet metal Union and got me in before he retired so in a year when i am done with apprenticeship i will be making 70K a year and that is considered middle class here in HI.... I am sure Hiloracer can attest to the fact that here in HI everyone lives with their parents if they want to stay here until they get a high paying job.... Wow what a really small forum. Scott (hiloracer sorry for the quick hijack) But my cousin will be heading over for vacation in vegas.. Do you hold like a small tour of the shop ? He would like to know if he could come look at the shop and how speakers are made ? And possibly get a listen to a demo car (bass race car or something with crazy boom)

Glad to hear it man and if you guys need any help don't be afraid to shoot me an email or PM I'm always available for helping with boxes and installs.... Btw that's a pretty solid score either way (first timer or not)... I'll be their on the next one i promise (to tape my toes when i roll at the graie JJ gym LOL)
