They're cheap, they're loud, and they last. But the SQ isn't quite there. I loved mine. -
I would LOVE BTL's but can't afford them. I could afford the upgrades on BL's. Besides the BL's will take a smaller enclosure.
-
I'm a beginner and I'm thinking of putting a competition capable system in. More interested in SPL.
-
I will shortly. Got the saz1500 and I can't decide between a BTL or a couple BL's......15's
-
That picture makes me want a BTL. Merci
-
What other organizations are there? Thanks
-
YAY!!! I really want to see more pics of that BTL again! That thing is massive.
-
Using 2 sundown 1500d's. Strapped. 2ohm for daily, and .5 for comps. I'd also like to build another box and possibly compete. Wanting loud with decent sq. Will be going in a hatchback. I have 8ish cubes. I'll be using recommended enclosures.

So I take it neither of you know...
-
Could the larger BTL magnets be used instead? Would this benefit the design any? What about 3?

He has four doors, perhaps he'll be running 2 sets in each door, for 8mids and 8tweets total... A 100.2 for each door would be a great way to power those. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Or maybe he's gonna split 2 sets amoung 4 doors???
-
eh? Do you know that he in fact has both sets in the front doors and isn't running a set to the rear doors? Because I've reread the thread and I can't find it. and what are you doin running tweets in your "rear stage"...whateverTF that is...
-
A few thoughts. As long as you aren't clipping the chit out of the signal you aren't going to kill or hurt or damage a speaker by giving it less than RMS. Fi BTL can take severe clipping at 5000w. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that with only a single 400w amp you could not cause a BTL to fail. EVER. BL SSD and Q....could be another story. The only thing you will get from giving a speaker less than rated power is quieter sound.
-
I always see the ports extending INTO the box...what if the port was on the OUTSIDE of the box? Would this make any difference?
-
Definately. In that case...a 100.4 bridged down to 2ohm. I don't know if the amp would handle 2ohm bridged, but if it can, the speakers SURELY can't take the power.
-
I like using the bottom of the five to make an F-clef...the bass range musical notation.
-
I'm wondering what max minimum rms wattage is.
