How big is your box? What options does the sub have? How much power is it getting? AWESOME!!!

As I said Nicky-Poo, I agree with the first two posts being made disappeared, but the third post where I said: Just trying the HELP people HELP themselves, so they learn something . And THAT was deleted. I understand this forum is a medium for the customers and Reps/Company to communicate with eachother... BUT... no need to turn into Adire on siN. . nG I'M the one that asked the question, and I prefer Nicks attitude to yours. Please Jizm, feel free to NOT help me help myself! Nick Shawn, Scott, Jake.....and everyone else.....this DOES NOT include you...I need all the help I can get. And I truly appreciate all the time you guys put into this board.

Just making sure...I've heard stranger.

Is he thinking of two amps of the same model one of which is listed here...or do you mean he's going to power his BTL with one Orion 2500D and one Sound Stream PCA-2000D? Because I wouldn't do it the second way.

Dual 1's Cooling 3rd Magnet Hixmcoil Daily lead
-
Looking for 2x BL with 3'rd magnet/HiXMax/dual 2ohm/flatwound/cooled/daily/non-universal/regular lead option group. I wouldn't think that adding magnets would be a bad thing...
-
Just ordered a 3rd mag/hixmax coil for a 15"BTL.

Here, fixed it for ya! You didn't fix it for me, i meant what i said. In theory a properly built ported box will be cleaner sounding than a sealed box, at any given output level because for a sealed box to play at the same output level you are requiring more power and thus the amplifier is doing more work and creating more distortion, and the subwoofer is working harder, and therefore creating more distortion. Lets look at it this way: ported enclosures are more efficient, more efficient speaker systems are cleaner, that is why compression horns are viewed so highly in the sq world. *note that i said a PROPERLY BUILT PORTED ENCLOSURE, the ultimate enclosure for sq is infinite baffle for sheer frequency extension, but is even more complicated to build properly than a ported enclosure. So there clarified and fixed for myself But what do you notice more...the lower THD produced by the speaker, or the hump in frequency response? I hate the hump. That said, I just ordered a fullyloaded 15" btl. For a Sq ported box.

Is he the one calling me "sweety" and "hun"?

Perfect. An easy to understand, highly informative answer. Thank you.

Running a strapped pair of Sundown 1500d's at 2ohm daily, and .5 for comps. Kinetik 1400 up front, two 1800's in the back. Or, to the point, will an excessive amperage 200a be ok?
-
Basically, if I'm making 2400w at 12.5v ill need 192 amps. Besides burps, I don't think I'll get a ported setup to 2400w...(1200w sealed was almost too much last system). I guess I'll be cool. Thanks...and I'll watch the impedance.
-
Comps would just be burping ~40hz. So impedance rise should keep me safe. No music at .5ohm...ever
-
DOH! Thats me skimming and posting...sorry!

A BL and a BTL don't use the same soft parts. Therefore it would NOT be the same woofer. I just want to know how much...

Terminals are chitty. Just drill a hole thru the box just bigger than the wire and pass it thru there then caulk it up aterwards. Or be super trick and use a bolt and a couple of washers to make a terminal "cup"... Or be superUBER trick and use two pieces of the allthread, youre using as bracing, as the signal distribution for each side

Here, fixed it for ya!

I've reread this thread...I can't find a damn thing you're helping here. Have you ever changed a cd player in a car? Have you ever replaced the stereo? Have you ever altered the engine or intake/exhaust? Then YOU TOO have broken the rule of "let the engineers stick to designing...". Let the corporation tell me what's best for me? No thanks. dick.
