    2 SA10's in a single cab

in 3.5 cubes with 2 sa12s and 1200d the 1200 is all the way turned down and is almost too much. in 2.4 with 2 4" areos the 1200d is working hard and the subs and amp together are basically close to full potential. 10s and 12s like about the same box/power. id try 2.4 with 2 4" aeros i think you will be satisfied. or drop to 2.1-2.2 cubes (makes huge difference dropping .2 with sa8 so im sure 10s are close to that difference). i have noticed 1 thing about sa series: right box great output, wrong box== bye bye soft parts! they are a little pickier then most subs but do it right and you will be happy

    SPL--SUNDOWN vs KICKER vs HIFONICS

So i was asked today about some equiptment to go into a SPL set up into a 1997 eagle talon. he was led to believe one thing while I do not agree. Please vote and say why if you dont mind. I am doing this to simply show what the big car audio world feels and knows to be best. This is the products at hand Sundown Audio amps and subs Kicker L7 subs with Hifonics amps Thanks everyone! Jacob Fuller if you see this feel free to chime in

    SPL--SUNDOWN vs KICKER vs HIFONICS

ok you guys, no that was not my sales presentation! he said i would like proof from others that would choose sundown over kicker and hifonics. i asked for opions and why they thought so. that is all a generalization of if people would choose which brand if they were to run spl. and yes i did do them numbers. the boxes were out of a different vehicle and i had 2 kicker warhorses running

well if you have the money and the skills are lacking in the spl area then you pay someone who knows what they are doing. hence why Car Audio Shops and Fabricators exist

    SPL--SUNDOWN vs KICKER vs HIFONICS

no price included as he has no price range, no power given as he does not care, no exact install given as he is waiting to choose which shop/brand going with. he wants the most durable and best for high spl application. if i build it it will be sundown as i am a dealer and it will be built intense for whatever class we go for as i know alot of tricks in the spl world (not all by any means alot thou). i did a 158.9 earlier this year with a 1 night throw together install (6 hr install from scratch) and did 2 hours testing after that comp and had up to 159.3 but tore it all out when i smoked the cheap solo xs lol

    2 SA10's in a single cab

nice. and the "wing" box drank too much red bull and grew wings lol. we put bucket seats in the truck, subs down fire in between seats the box goes behind the seats and "wings" out behind both bucket seats where it has a 4" aero going into each b-pillar. on my photo bucket i have pics look up out there customs on photo bucket. i dont no what i all have pics of on there since i hardly use it. but i know this truck is on there

    2 SA10's in a single cab

ill try and take a video this next week of the single cab we have. it has a behind the seat box currently in it with full bench seat. if we get some free time maybe we will switch out to the "wing" box and buckets just to take a video of how much flex that box creates! its a nasty truck to say the least!

i dont know about glass readings but for sound the ports to drivers and subs on passenger sounds way better in both passenger and drivers side seats from our experience plus over 2 db gain in outlaw

    2 SA10's in a single cab

we have a single cab 92 chevy with 2 sa12s off a 1200d and have built 6 different enclosures. we constantly meter 143.9-144.0 outlaw style no matter the enclosure! i dont know why this is but we have had behind the seat enclosures and also put in 2 bucket seats and had the subs down fire with the box "winging" out behind the seats with 4" aeros to the pillars. 2 4" aeros firing to the pillars sounds the best i think. This truck also has insane flex, the rear window and metal of cab move approx 1.5-2" (enough to shatter 1 rear window so far), the doors approx 1" the windshield approx 1-1.5" and after a rock chip came to be it took a matter of seconds to spider the entire windshield, and the dash bouces so much it is hard to change volume in testing at high levels as the deck moves and will not play cds past 1/2 volume. we also have over $1500 in mids and highs inside of this and it is straight up insane. it will be upgraded this winter to 4 sa12 off 2500d behind the seat! I will try and post a pic of a couple of the boxes we have made and also a video of flex if i can find it. also 2.4 gross with 2 12s and 2 4" aeros to drivers side with subs on passenger side tuned to 34hz sounds amazing, our "wing" box had the best lows tuned at 33hz and most flex and the 1200d was turned all the way down as the box was approx 3.8 cubes and the subs peaked with less power. i have pics of the boxes uploaded to phot o bucket but aparently i cant post them here....never posted pics on here before. just look up outtherecustoms on PB

    NS-1

what is the eta on the 2nd run? also how many are available on the 2nd run
  15. Out There Customs

    NS-1

not quite - this was on 3 12v bats and 2 4v cells... starting voltage was around 16.2 with a drop to 13.xx ....we would have done better on if we had XS Power d1600's oh....i thought when jacob originally posted the vid he had said what i said above IIRC but maybe that was a different video. even if it was 5 xs d1600s that would still be impressive....but knowing it was with even less.....WOW!
  16. Out There Customs

    NS-1

that was on 5 xs 16v batts and a single nightshade 18 doing 160 IIRC

    e8v1 as midbass

I wouldn't call it a good plan so far. Making it very hard on himself to be successful with his goals if they are truly SQ. if you knew who i was talking about you would know its a good plan for him

    e8v1 as midbass

I have a guy going to be building a sound quality system with alot of equipment he has had for years (he has more equipment then alot of shops---his last count 2.5 years ago was 68 amps, 45 subs, 42 sets of components, 27 coax sets, 84 decks, 7 different eqs, 8 diff crossovers, and more) he has added to this rapidly since. he also has a wall doing 159.4 peak outlaw, blow thru 154.3 outlaw, trunk doing 151.8, and trunk doing 147.6. these are all daily systems too! the guy is a little crazy! now he wants to do a sq system and has everything (dont no exact equipment but using 2 31 band crossfire eqs and 2 crossfire 4 way crossover-old school and audio control center channel driver and audio control 8v line drivers). he is using seperate amps for everything and will be using a pair of sundown e8v1 in his kick panels each running off a 500 watt amp (1ohm stable running at 2 ohm equaling 250 w rms each sub). the e8s will be used as more of a mid/front stage bass. he feels this may add a little difference overall from the norm. what do you guys think would be a good size for kick pod enclosures for these off 250 rms each?

    e8v1 as midbass

lol............. 1k-2500hz??? that aint a midbass range. you might wanna check on that. hes talking about the 50-150hz range i believe. My bad! To damn early, need my morning caffine! haha my 18s love around 2000hz!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOOT WOOT!!! and jamie will not buy new equipment

    e8v1 as midbass

if you know Jamie Basset out of Havre MT formally from Ipswitch SD then you know he has a sh!t ton of equipment and randomly throws stuff together and is always louder then he should be. he showed up to a show with 6 12s walled, 2 weeks later 4 15s walled, 3 weeks later a trunk system and the next weekend 2 18s walled. This was all in 1 vehicle. The guy is crazy and has a pretty good plan and just need a little with the question at hand. The e8s are for a low end midbass in his front stage. and thanks jacob. Any ideas other then .2 jacob?

    Heavy duty rear shocks

i meant springs. i typed it quick. and why is the maxima a bad car to use? where will it be weak at? please let me know so i can properly reinforce and all local places for springs suck. you tell them what you need them for and they will make them weaker then from factory! yes they are that dumb. I am looking for a place to build them that builds them good and on a reg basis so they know what they are doing.

    Heavy duty rear shocks

i have a 2001 nissan maxima that will be getting a wall and will be getting a lot of weight added to it. I need to know where i can get some affordable rear shocks that will handle an additional 1200-1500 pounds. any help will be greatly apprecated. also we will be needing some for a 2001 ford taurus, 2002 grand am, 1998 sunfire, and a few others. finding one good place we can get all these custom built thru would be great as it is alot easier and more trust worthy for me to order from one place instead of multiple. websites or emails would be great Thanks

    Couple Questions About Walls.

13 layer baltic birch, it is expensive but about a third the wieght and triple strength and price of mdf. dependent on subs you are going with and power depends how many layers and bracing you need in it. we walled a car with 4 12s and 20k rms using 2 boxes double 1" baffle and all sides 1" thick with 1" thick wood bracing, this was all mdf and then took 3 2x4s on rear to hold to gether and a full false front baffle to seal and cover. the boxes are very heavy like this but swap out with 3/4" baltic birch you will be just as strong. also this car was weighted down with 150lbs of amps, 575 lbs of batts and 200 in subs plus 3 sheets 1" mdf.....but if your equipment weighs less you should be good. with these boxes this car peaked 158.9 outlaw and 156.7 30 sec average outlaw style. i suggest to keep weight down and make it easier to remove build your false floor and 2 boxes then baffle it. this is the method i will be using on one on my comp team members cars in april. we are actually using 2 boxes we have made already for the wall. they were in an suv and will be good for the wall, they have aero ports so easy to change tuning on them and make them for daily/comp wall
