Lots of mistakes, would definitely recommend doing it over. If you plan on keeping it, line the internal chamber and extend+stuff the port. This will increase the effective internal volume and lower the tuning frequency, plus it will help cover up some of the negative consequences of your errors. Some tips for the future (some have already been mentioned): - Calculate volume and tuning before buying the supplies - Measure twice before cutting - More caulking in the corners (Leaks are bad) - Construct the port with as few turns as possible - Round any edges of the port - Carpet is your friend - I personally would not have the sub pointing up, mostly due to theft concerns. If you're going to do it, at least tint the back windows. You're rocking an $80 sub in a homemade box back there, not a Ferrari engine.

What's the goal with this design ?

Not the best black levels (still okay, but definitely worse than some others), but excellent colours. Great for daytime viewing, wouldn't recommend it if it's going to be used primarily in the dark. Better off with a MVA/PVA LCD panel or a Plasma in that case, IMO. Any recommendations in the 600 dollar range? I've looked at a Samsung LN40D630 http://www.samsung.c.../LN40D630M3FXZA but at $650 its starting to stretch the budget a little bit. But if its worlds better I can spare the fifty bucks I guess. It has some issues with the motion smoothing and the colour out of the box is ridiculously overblown (my dad has the 46" model), but once you fix those in the settings, it's a great TV.

I don't know if it'll be our first snow of the winter tonight. Clouds came in, but temperature is currently sitting at 3*C at 11 PM PST. Not sure it'll drop enough to change to snow. If it does, I doubt it'll still be there tomorrow afternoon.

Good amps, though the older US made models were better. Thought that was the old one for a moment before memory kicked in and Google confirmed it.

Breaking in the sub is a complete waste of time for any daily driver.

Eh, if you focus on all the negatives and none of the positives, you can make anything look bad.

It hasn't been above freezing here in days. Its 2 degrees out right now. This is the first time it dropped below freezing all winter Everyone around here is freaking out because it might snow. Now I have to endure people driving 30 under the speed limit because the temperature dropped from 8*C to -2*C (46*F to 28*F) ... The same people that drive 20 over the speed limit when it's pouring down rain in thick fog at night ... *shakes head*I was driving to my parents yesterday and going through a 40 km/h zone (25 MPH) and the guy at the front never got over 25 km/h. This was in the day with no snow on the ground, just cold temperatures ... What's even more mind-boggling is that my parents are from Hamilton and Edmonton respectively and they are the same way (though not quite as bad). I don't understand how someone can grow up in a city where snow is on the ground 9 months of the year and the temperature is generally double-digits below freezing, live here for 35 years, and become so maladjusted that she can't even function when the temperature drops ever so slightly below freezing.

Dropped below freezing tonight ... Boo ...

Wine is an emulator and there are limitations and, sometimes, complications whenever you're using emulation. If it's just something you use occasionally, emulation is generally sufficient, but if you need to use it several hours every day, those limitations/complications can make things very inefficient and frustrating. What it boils down to is official hardware and software support of most consumer products. Very, very few consumer products support Linux. For the most part, someone somewhere will have developed a method to get it to work, but it's not always in the same capacity as running it in Windows and sometimes more complicated. You have to do your homework before you make purchases for Linux systems. That being said, it's not terribly difficult to learn and there are definite upsides to Linux. Most distributions are free to use, which is a big plus if you build your own machines. You're far less likely to be affected by malicious software while using Linux and Linux is renowned for stability, which can save you time and money.

im about to get my wisdon teeth pulled, any tips??

Pretty much any of the painkillers mentioned in this thread will constipate you. Make sure you drink plenty of water and get some Metamucil mix.Worst 2-3 days of your life ? You must have had an easy life compared to me My doctor had to chisel one of my wisdom teeth out (took him almost 3 hours and I had to be awake the whole time because my parents didn't want to pay to have me knocked out) and, because of the duration of time, my mouth looked like the Joker's mouth for like 2 weeks afterwards from irritation ... and that wasn't even close to the worst surgery I've had -

Do NOT accept T3s for painkillers. Ask for Emtecs or another painkiller that doesn't contain caffeine as the caffeine will keep you up. The more sleep you get, the faster you'll heal and the less pain you'll suffer through. -

No snow in Minnesota ? Weird. We have yet to see any snow here this winter and didn't get any in the fall. Doesn't look like it's in the forecast, either.

I have both a TomTom (GF's car) and a Garmin (My car) and the TomTom is much more user friendly, but both work fine. Definitely get one that offers free map updates for life. I like the ones that also offer bluetooth so you can sync your cell phone with it, but only if you don't already have a bluetooth headset or onboard bluetooth.

Not exactly an ideal situation. 4" speakers in general will not have much output in the lower octaves and with your 5.25s in the back (and, odds are, not a whole lot better), a possible fix for this situation would be to have a set of dedicated midbass drivers set up in the kick panels.I'm not sure what your fiberglassing skill or budget is, however, as it would add a significant amount of cost to the setup if you need someone to do the glassing for you.

There's a big problem with that. The SSF frequency will be generally be at somewhere around -3 dB to -6 dB depending on the type of crossover design used. If you have a -12 dB/octave LR SSF and you're setting it to 32 Hz, you're starting to drop power at around 43 Hz since it'll be -6 dB (or half voltage) at 32 Hz.Maybe if you have a very steep butterworth crossover (i.e. -24 dB/octave), but even still, you'll start dropping power at 34 Hz (and your sub BARELY moves near tuning). What amplifier does the OP have ?

Solid read. I wish my grandparents were like that. Of course, I never met either of my grandfathers, one of my grandmothers passed away in May, and I've met my other grandmother once. The only grandmother I knew has hated me from birth because my parents "insulted" her family by naming me David James (David after my dad, James after my grandfather who passed away 8 years before I was born) as my first name should have been James instead of David Jr. So my parents insisted I go by James to appease her, but failed in succeeding. Even when I visited her while she was dying of cancer, all she would talk about was how much of a disappointment I am, how much of a disappointment my mom and dad are, how well my cousins are doing, etc.It would be nice to have ONE positive elderly role model at some point in my life.
