To my knowledge MTs never had a flatwind copper coil. They had D1, D2, Q2 flatwind aluminum coils, as well as the old copper D2 round wire.... not too mention the fact that the MT coils are the same as the SX. We can do quite a bit to the SX subs...

Got spiders coming in to do these. More and more people are wanting 10" spider recones... Give me a little bit and Ill have them.

Some... we only build with them for one OEM and for the Arsenal series from AA. We do have quite a few different versions though. What are you looking for?

Qs are our "SQ" (if they must have a label) series of subs. They will definitely get loud if you want them too as well. While I prefer sealed, most like the added boost of a ported enclosure and dont worry about group delay or the exagerated bottom end. A pair of 12s works great for a solid daily driver and with 2300W, you do great. Or a sealed pair of 15s for a little more SQ oriented setup with still solid output. Thanks, Scott

Ive seen it occur for a couple of reasons... one being the one mentioned that something cut, pierced, or otherwise reduced the structural integrity of the surround and it failed, the other is when the sub is pushed beyond its mechanical limits (99% of the time having a subsonic filter set up incorrectly for the power and tuning) and things literally beat themselves to death. If there wasnt an "oops" during installation and nothing was rubbing on it in the trunk, my next vote is for over excursion. Normally we do not cover ripped or torn parts. In the ultra off chance that it was a surround problem (never had one with this same tooling used for many years) we would gladly cover it. As for your personal request... what was this for again? Hard for me to stick a forum name to a real name

Scott...need confirmation on ordering Q12 d2
Fi Car Audio replied to appleyard's topic in General Fi
It looks like it had shipped out on the 8th via USPS. Please let me know when it arrives. Also, has your brothers kits arrived yet? I am a little concerned about the time it has taken for those. Thanks, Scott -
Yes, we got it later that day. We processed the order and it will ship out tomorrow. You should receive an email from UPS with your tracker when it goes out. Thanks for the order and please let me know if I can help with anything else in the meantime.

Dan, Heart sank when Shawn told me what had happened, but we are all glad that you are OK. Im glad for the gap insurance as well... hopefully they will take care of things quickly for you so you can get another vehicle. Sitting in the back when you were talking with Shawn there are just too many little things that did play in your favor given such bad circumstances. Hopefully it all resolves quickly and things can get back to normal.

Please send an email to [email protected] with "NEED HELP ASAP SCOTT" in the title along with your name, address, phone, email, and what subsize and info it is. I will be out of town for the next couple of days but make sure that either my secretary or one of my staff working at Fi while we are gone gets this taken care of ASAP. Thanks, Scott

On its way to you (and thanks for the order). Please check your tacker for the revised delivery date. Thanks, Scott

Pick up is possible. We will not have the doors open again until Tuesday next week. While we will have 2 people working on production, the balance of us will be at the various dB Drag Finals happening this weekend and we will simply act as if we are closed due to that. Normal business will resume on Tuesday 8-16 and we will have some email delays until then. Thanks, Scott

I have not receive the MO as of yesterday. I will check the mail right before I head out of town today and see if it is there. I will leave it at the office to be processed and started while I am gone. Thanks, Scott

Yes the sub has shipped out. I will look up the shipping date and info when I get into the shop in 3 hours. Ill try and get an email out to you before I get on a plane to Finals today... if not, I will post here when I get into a hotel and find a hook up. Sorry for the delays in repsonse -
Gladly mag it for free. All of our magnets come in unmagnetized and we assemble the motors and zap them from there (after we machine what we need to on the top plates, poles or back plates). Send it in to: Fi Car Audio Attn: Scott 5480 Cameron St #107 Las Vegas NV 89118 Please be sure to include your name address email and phone with it. Sorry for the delay... things have been more than hectic around here Thanks, Scott

Received payment details and we are building the sub... Let me know what you are looking at for a Q15 enclosure and I will gladly help. lol... the sig pic brings back memories Old RE office with a bunch of parts from the RE line stacked up to make a funny pic. XXX top plates and random stuff stacked up... the good old days Thanks, Scott -
Depending on how much space you can get for them, we can tweak the SSDs to work well either sealed or ported. Ported yields more output, but in a reg cab truck is more difficult to do. How much power do you have for it? Thanks, Scott
-
The fully loaded versions are rated at up to 2000W in the proper setup. We bring them right up to where the standard BTL comes in. While we dont always recommend 2000W to each as it depends on sub size, enclosure, tuning... and other factors. Those that do have that much going to them have been fine. Setting the subsonic filter is key on higher powered setups. Easy to kill a sub with that much power if things arent set up correctly (freeair below tuning with 2000W is bad ) Thanks, Scott

Definitley a nice siteup. Pics of the rest of the car/system? Please keep us posted. Thanks, Scott

May need to polyfill after things break in depending on how you like things to sound. You have a slightly higher qtc in that space... which most people tend to like in car audio. You can lower it some by adding up to 5lbs of loosely stuffed polyfill to the box. Thanks, Scott
-
Nice setup. Please keep us posted long term when things break in as to how its doing. Box is huge for a single 10"... does it seem to handle the 2-3X space ok? Interesting use of bubble wrap too Thanks, Scott
-
500W extra wont be a big deal per sub... 3000 should be a very solid setup. Please pay lots of attention to getting the gains and filters set up correctly. Still lots of power to a pair of 10s as they are stout amps.
-
While subs definitely do break in... there isnt any specific method we use for breaking in a sub when installed in a car. For in house testing we free air them to break them in faster... but for car apps, just install it and play. They will naturally break in over time. Thanks, Scott
-
Yes we can... make sure that the holes are in a 5" circle pattern as well (this is the standard size we use). As there are many different top plate variations of this motor, it is always best to send one in for us to measure from... but most have a bigger gap and we can fit a fair amount of coils in it. A Q coiled setup with 3 softer spiders should work well. I would rather do 12s than 10s for these as well. 10s are really tight space wise.
