Last thing I like to do is put a date on things... as it always goes bad from there. We have been testing things and have a couple of the newer versions of the drivers in the back doors of the H2 as well as one of my vehicles. The comp tweeters are working well too and we are happy in general with things. We will have the original version (with a couple of minor tweeks that still allow interchangeability with the originals) in its 7" basket as well as the "car" version in a smallet basket with grill. We are working on them and when things are in stock and ready to ship, we will post about them. Thanks, Scott

they work well ported and I liked them in about 2.2 cuft each tuned 28-30 Hz for a clean daily setup. While they arent power houses, they make a VERY solid lower powered SQ setup.

Yes we are working on updating it and at first I thought it was because our new web company was getting it rolling a couple days early... but it turns out that the host "upgraded" some things and dropped a bunch of peoples sites as well as screwed up DNS settings. While we have the site info to put back, they have yet been able to fix the DNS settings and accordingly we are in the process of moving the site to a new host company. Site has been the biggest PITA I have ever had to deal with... definitley more than enough of an excercise in frustration from every aspect. But, the company has been rolling along strong in its absence and we have been picking up new dealers and international distributors. Things will come back into focus soon enough Thanks, Scott

aa poly mids do aa still sell them??
Fi Car Audio replied to zpeedyrosalez's topic in Ascendant Audio
Currently no poly mids... we have finished the tweaks to the originals as well as the baskets for the car version for the highline comp set. We have been testing them in the Ascendant H2 and one of my vehicles and are happy with the performance (a couple subtle tweaks from the orignals but they can be dropped in place with no issues). We are also happy with the tweeters for the set and will continue to work on the crossovers for them. Ill keep everyone posted on them, but it still wont be for couple of months. Thanks, Scott -
SEMA is over and we are working furiously to get caught back up on all emails. Fi is currently repairing all old Ascendant products, but that will be changing in 2-3 weeks when you will be able to send all old products direct to AAs new location in Vegas. Thanks for your patience and look for an email response over the weekend. Thanks, Scott

While things are seeminngly trudging along at best with the website (our host upgraded things on the 23rd and our system had crashed because of it, loosing the initial info as well as screwing up all DNS settings, which they have still been unable to reset... we are now swapping to a new host) we are moving forward big time with our dealer and distributor programs. We just spent the past week demoing the Ascendant H2 at SEMA in Las Vegas and picked up several new dealers and distributors as well. We will have a post shortly about the H2 and the Ascendant setup in it shortly (trying to get caught back up on all emails first) as well as getting kicked out of the show for being too loud (big thanks to Chip Foose and his Overhaulin crew for that one...) In general AAs future is looking very bright and full of new developments. We will get the site up shortly (heck I even stopped holding my breath) and post what else we have been up to. Definitely not going away or melting into Fi... both have their distinct strategies and directions with relatively little overlap between them. Thanks, Scott

Sent them via USPS in an envelope... should have take only 2 days and this was a week+ ago. Let me know if you get them in the mail or not... if not, Ill put some in a box and send it next day to you.

has Fi started shipping the heli-cool for the BTL yet?
Fi Car Audio replied to eclipsepb25's topic in Fi Products
We have been so busy lately with Fi, Ascendant, OEM, and two major shows that I havent posted any info about it knowing that when I did, Id have to field a bunch of questions. But yes, it is in production and all new BTLs will have it. We are currently testing twist rates on the BLs as well to see differences in cooling and air flow vs degrees per inch. When SEMA is finished up (we are there right now beating the Ascendant H2 to death) and things settle back down after a few days I will get a post going about it. Thanks, Scott -
I need a response from an FI Employee Please
Fi Car Audio replied to areyouserious's topic in General Fi
Shawn had spoke with me last night about this... but it looks like it was delivered yesterday as well. Not sure why UPS didnt send you a tracker as we had it set for it, but at least its there -
I think they were rated at 75W RMS and they are all 4 Ohms. We have pushed production back on these for a little bit in favor of more sub lines... dealers would rather have that at this point in time. We most definitely will be producing more of them in the original flavor as well as a "car" sized basket with grills.
-
3-5 business days (plus return shipping time).
-
For standard Q15s we rate them at 1000W RMS. A 2000-2500W amp and the proper setup should work well on the pair. 100-120 liters for each sub works well when tuned to 32Hz.
-
Possibly. If youd like me to send some out I gladly will. Whats the enclosure and amp set up like? Ported or sealed?
-
Send it on in and we will repair and send back for free (if its a failure under normal circumstances and not abuse or over excursion). Please send it on in to: Fi Car Audio 5480 Cameron St #107 Las Vegas NV 89118 Please be sure to include your name, address, email, and phone number with it on a sheet of paper. Thanks, Scott

Wire on its way to you George. Does look like lots of current given the discoloration on things. Next issue is that it looks like it might have been reconed by someone else do you know its history? Leads dont look to be set with the right length or angles to them (we use a gauge for them). Lots of solder wick up the lead hardens it and creates a weak point... angle is way off to the sides to. New leads on some drivers for end of the year too. When you get it in let me know if you need help swapping them out. Thanks, Scott

Yep, need an alt to keep up with current demands and keep voltage from dropping. Even multiple batts wont help for long if they dont have a source to keep them charged up... they will eventually die to and you will be in the same boat for extended runs. Not good for anything in the car to have voltage swing and that much drop.

Ive got the Kicker in one of my vehicles and like it on a pair of SSD10s. Only issue with that amp is that the subsonic is preset to 25Hz and a shallow 12 dB/Octave. This is an issue if you are using a normal daily tuning in a ported setup (no issue to me since this ones sealed) Kicker is decently efficient, not sure about the other. Current draw for either amp isnt based off of the loads the amps are optimized for, but the output power at that load and the efficiency of the amp. You can have an 8 Ohm optimal amp that makes 2000W and is just as efficient as a 1 Ohm optimized 2000W amp... its 2000W/ 12 volts or whatever its running at/ %efficiency = current draw

Brian is right at driver weight, and shipping weight comes in 8-13 lbs more depending on size of the BTLs. BLs range from 33-40 ship weight.
-
Very cool. Keep us posted Thanks for the order.
-
Like Nick mentioned, we tend to stick close to RMS ratings on things. With a fully loaded BTL Id say 2500. And yes, most use more than that... but things need to definitely be dialed properly as well. BTL 18 will work in that space, although most seem to choke them down smaller than that (mostly because the BTL will push on through with its linearity and motor strength in smaller enclosures allowing you to stuff 18s where usually only a 15 would work). Brian... email sent.

Thank you for repping Fi at Finals Looking forward to the next setup... lets hope the magic pixie dust that seems to be in it works its way over to yours
-
Second the 12" $10 more and a fair amount more output for little extra space.
-
Glad you like it. Box looks solid. Was this the last version you sent over to me to look at? Thanks to Phil for making us sound good

On their way to you
