well my recones from Fi came and they were supposed to be dual 2s....so i could run my ab 500.1 at .5ohm....but the coils read 1.5....which means i have to run my amp at .35.....not very good..... just curious as to why they arent actual dual 2s

ppl run this amp at .5 all the time daily, and some drop it even lower with proper electrical.... but okay i see what youre saying. prior to the recones the subs were dual .7s....im gonna guess those are dual 1s?

hmmmm im in kind of the same situation....if my recones dont come tomorrow im gonna have the shop i ordered through call scott.

ok..... so i have 2 15" Fi BTLs in a 2006 maxima.....AB 500.1 for power....my electrical system has a 200A Alt, 2 2400's and a 1400 kinetik under the hood... i recently put in an alpine 9887 and since then my output went WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYy down. i readjusted the gains just now with a voltmeter, around 70V.....and it barely hits, ive got the setting on the HU MX 3...sub level 15 eq on the low bands +6 and it barely hits.... i checked the ohms with the DMM by turning off car and putting it on the speaker wire to amp....it showed .8-1....... really, my old setup with 2 12" mags + sundown 1500 hit harder then this. its like playing stock subs......any ideas what is wrong here?!!!

I need help deciding which amp i should get... i used to run the soundstream xxx6500 (which ive been told only does about 2700 @ 12v and 1ohm) on my 2 15" BTLs (dual .7) but i broke my box.... so next week they are completely redoing it to make it much stronger. but since im redoing that, im going to just uppppp the power. the sounstream is sold.... now for my amp choices i can either get: (2) opti4000ds and run them at 2ohm....doing right about 3000rms per sub (which was my goal) i know this amp is JUST like the SS, but its regulated so it should do more power on 12v as opposed to the SS. or i can get (1) AB500.1 which will do about 4700rms and costs about $200 less. then there were 2 massive p3000.1's but these were the most expensive. about 975shipped for the pair. i play my music daily and i like to play for long periods of time, and im thinking 3000rms per sub might be a tad too much..... so im asking....is the extra $200 bucks worth it for the extra 1000rms??? thanks in advance!!!

hmmm on my way home i saw this focus hatchback with a huge FI AUDIO sticker on the entire rear windshield. its a 2dr hatchback, white with blue graphics and blue rims, + lambo doors. i know he used to have like 4 15" power acoustics and everyone said it sounded terrible..... now hes running FI im guessing, wonder what he has....? is he possibly sponsored by Fi??? palm coast FL btw.

1 1500D @ .75 on 1 hd3 15" gets real loud. (set that up for a kid at my school in a focus hatchback)

so my friend tells me this idea, and i became interested and want to know some opinions. if its a good idea i may just go with this over a 4th order bandpass through armrest.... he says "Alright plan on re-building the box and I may try this. Remember my trunk is extremely sealed off, I have computers and what not all on behind the rear seat and with the panel off it doesn't let much air intot he car. Anyways, I want to face the subs the same way, towards the back and have the port facing up and into the car. It would be built so the port goes directly into the rear deck. How you guys think that will work? " 727kid on here, 2 12" BLs and 2 sundown 1500d's BTW.

oh yea they are.... its 14,800 something -250 deductible that we pay. and the other about 14500 insurance covers. and it sucks but i think we have to cover hers also, and her little hyundai had 13K in damage, yep that car is probaby barely worth that on a good day.

i sent this message to my friend on myspace and i aint feel like retyping so here it is. well the stoplight near new publix, had no power today. and i aint kno so im driving along in the right lane and some truck turns out of easthampton into my lane so i slow down to about 45. then in the turning lane going into easthampton its full so i cant see who is coming out of east hampton. as soon as i crossed the intersection line bam i got hit and spun around and hit another car that wasnt so badly damaged. now if u saw the pic i have of the damage youd wonder how the hell its so bad if the lady made a complete stop, which they say. she has to be going about 30 to make that much damage,and if she came from a complete stop no way shed be goin that quick, she was going from east hampton straight to publix. so since i aint stop at the light i was at fault. im seriously like lost right now, chit u kno that car was my damn pride and joy andd now its pretty much gone, who knows if i even get a car back and if i do it wont be anything like this one. yea truthfully, you see where that blue explorer is, well thats were the lady supposedly stopped, and i was where that cop car is parked, does she really gather enough speed from that complete stop to where i was to do damage and such a big hit the cop said cars have crush points, but the AXLE?!!! NO! thats a serious hit to bend that. and the kicker, my mom was like 2 cars behind me, but didnt see it happen, just drove by and save me spun out in the road. imagine what she felt :'(

i didnt ever update in here... but the car is being fixed....$14,8xx to fix. they started last friday, went and saw it pieces; doors off, seats out, exhaust off, suspension off, brakes wheels, bumpers, fenders all it hurt to see it like that. im going to call tomorrow and see progress....i hate not having a car!

im jealous! after i thought i was gonna have my car totaled, i had my eyes set on an SUV and this was going to be the EXACT plan for it!!! EA alt, and exact head unit and exact amps!!! damn you have my dream setup. get some vids up and that looks bad aszZ!!!

doing the same install this weekend in a ford focus.... his electrical isnt that good though, just a Yellow top in the back and some 0 gauge. cant wait to hear these hd3s on that sundown!

aha misleading. you should do it in a normal car lol. SPLBLAZER, if you did that in the rex, i dont feel bad lol. still its on Stock HU, if i change that i HEAR i can gain couple dB's.

1731.2 watts @ 146.9 dB wow, so with that 1 15", u beat my 2 12" mags by about 6.9 dBs.....(i kno i hit around 40s but no exact ##) and that watts looks like the 1500D @ 1ohm, and mine is @ .5ohm..... i want one

I would compare it most closely to an FI Audio BTL from what I have experience with so far. This is pending further power testing to make sure it can handle similar power levels, which is the goal. If the proto fails to hold up as well as the BTL it will be re-designed... the intent of the Nightshade is to be a top tier SPL woofer that is at least listenable ill take 2 12's just to support sundown! lol cant wait to see this thing in action.

so is the 3000D going to be able to run @ .5ohm? and im guessing if it can, it would do about the same numbers as 2 1500D's strapped @ 1ohm.... am i correct?
