    My GZ/RLP box

I've been told that placing the sub closer to the port opening can cause some problems with pressure not being built up in the box (for instance in a wall with multiple subs, the subs closer to the port will unload easier than those further away). Thus, placing the sub as far away from the port as possible will allow the waves to fully develop before exiting through the port. At least this is what i have told and seen. If you look at most SPL cars, if they have the space they will place the subs as far from the port end(s) as possible (CRX box is one example).

    Thinkin Bout Goin MECA

Run whatever fuse you can. The biggest fuse you can fit into a class for instance. If you can get your amp to burp on a 20 amp fuse (and it puts you into a smaller class) then do it. But if you can use a 30 amp fuse in the same class, then run that. Basically you want to max out the lowest class you can possibly fit in. For instance, i was in S1 with 2 10's and a 50 amp fuse. I could've used a 60 amp fuse, but that would've bumped me up to S2 where i could use a MUCH larger fuse.

    No Comps Near Me

The MECA list just got started, so NONE of the IL/WI/IN shows have been posted yet, just be patient. There's alot of shows in the IL/southern WI area, and some in indiana as well. I live in the south suburbs of chicago and i went to 9 MECA shows last year. My farthest drive was an hour and a half.

    Thinkin Bout Goin MECA

Alternator doesn't matter because AS is tested with the car off. As for the fuse rule, what don't you understand exactly? There has to be an inline fuse 18" (physically) from the amp. That fuse is the one that is used in determining your pressure class (the smaller the fuse, the better). And you are correct about the resin. You are not allowed to use resin or duct tape in AS (stupid rule, i know). And an FYI, AS is now metered at the HEADREST, not in the kick.

    My GZ/RLP box

I'd actually put the sub on the other end of the box (or flip the port to the other side) You want the sub as far from the port end as possible.

    high numbers in a trunk?

Lol, i always get a kick out of these comments. If you want the most legal, meter at the headrest. Afterall, that's what YOU hear when you play your stereo. I don't see too many people sticking their head in the kick or on the windshield and saying "damn, thats loud"

    trying my hand at SQ

Alright, so my new project truck is coming along (by coming along, i mean its not running and i'm tearing the interior apart). Anyways, i'm trying to piece together an SQ setup in my head and this is what i have so far. Headunit: some type of indash dvd player (leaning towards the kenwood 717) Speakers: front stage only: RE RE components, and a midbass (XXX 6" or dayton RS 7") all the speakers in door pods Speaker amp: MTX blue thunder 400x5 (dedicated sub channel to power the midbass if necessary). subs: its gonna be ridiculous sub amps: lots of them Now, for the problems. I have heard the RE tweeters are kinda harsh, any recommendations on curing this problem(either with different components, or piecing a set together)? I'm not dead set on the component set, so i'm up for suggestions. I'd like to have something that is a complete kit because i don't want to deal with an active component set at this time (if the RE mid is ok, but i just need to change the tweeter, that is o.k. too as long as somebody has a recommendation on a tweeter. I'm gonna have a HEFTY sub stage, so i'm gonna need some components that are gonna scream with the power i can feed em, but won't kill my ears with harsh treble, or struggle to keep up with the subs. But, for SQ testing, the subs will most likely be turned down quite a ways I'm a n00b at SQ, so any help is appreciated. I'm not dead set on equipment, so if people have any thoughts as to things that would be better for similar prices, i'd like to know about them.

    Cruises

The water in Cozumel/Playa Del Carmen (well the water i SWAM in:)) was the BEST water on the whole trip. It was so clear and warm, it was basically like taking a bath. A salty bath yes, but a bath nonetheless.
