wow i just read this whole thread. Kevin S one question = Your Name and Reputation are worth 400 bucks man? If your sooooo worried about getting bashed and a bad name then you would of resolved it INSTANTLY, dragging this on like you did, trying to do nothing, then finally, agreeing to make a ups claim after you were drug through the mud. No one should have to pucking twist your arm to get customer service. You bla bla bla about happy customers, WAY TO GO DIPSHIT thats what your supposed to do. its your god damn job. its like a guy saying "i take care of my kids" like its something special. NO its nothing special its what you do. and what you have shown here is not responsible or ethical by any means. you run a business man, by sending this guy his 400 bucks back instantly you could of saved yourself from the thousands of people reading this thread and the others were you blatantly fucked others over. If that was done all those people could of been potential customers of yours, i was actually getting ready to place an order on 1800 woofers till i read this thread, had this thread been one page long and it consisted of OP- "i recieved a bad amp" Kevin S - "Return damaged amp and refund will be made" If this would of happened then i would of made my order. That CLEARLY did not happen. Its amazing people of this honesty and integrity level can make it as far as owning multiple companies.

thanks scotty! and idk about the resin and the paint not sticking. i just used one layer of actual glass on the top then just heavy coats of resin then just used some regular high solid primer left over from when i painted my truck, then shot the sealer and then the paint. it was cold as hell, outside and super windy. still sticking... im not real worried i plan on painting it all over, i screwed the paint up on the metal piece i made too so its whatever. and yeah im gonna do a MDF panel and amp rack, im getting another little battery for the back this like tues or wed, then plan on carpeting all that...

my vote would definitely be 6 15s. but i know next to nothing. also the pics you posted of bracing.... oh my....

got it slapppin today... had to pull the box out twice. <<<<rookie. but it is bumpin now... and im very very happy =) the couple songs i played shook the entire truck. im in love... i know the boot looks like shit, i had a helluva time today and got impatient, need to paint the brace still, and get some bigger gauge speaker wire with terminals. gonna make an amp rack and stuff too. i need a few days break though, this project kicked my ass. Got a teaser vid too.

That's a serious brace, I assume this is to secure the enclosure to the back of the cab? Great work on the box for being in the elements of the bed! yeah will have all thread going to the front of the bed to keep the box sucked up tight against it... Painted in the dark, truck is sitting in the shop with the heater on to let the glue set over night.

eh not a big deal i just cut away the top and bottom board a little. but i was thinking the overall diameter would be just a little under 12.5 but its like EXACTLY 12.5 and thats how much room i had... i new it would be close. but i got it handled, in the middle of glassing right now at the shop came home for a smoke break real quick and to post some pictures i took while i was sanding... and a better picture of the sub.
-
shitt man what a bummer. Careful around those surrounds though wouldnt wanna scuff up such a pretty sub just take off the gasket do ya not see the gasket on the corner there? i actually decided im just gonna grind the wood away a little. no big deal.
-
i have to trim the sub a little bit. the sub is 12.5 wide and my box is 12.5 tall.

those are my mothers. =) i operate a collective.

you work for vintage air?!?!?! thats awesome, now im suuuuuuper jealous.
-
just gonna have to sand out the areas i couldnt cut out i guess. using 1 1/4 plywood for the front baffle and back double wall... just what i had left... didnt want to buy another sheet for only two pieces. hopefully i can get this stuff to seal, it seems more pores (spelling?)
-
yeah... i def need a router it will be my next tool purchase for sure. and i made a mistake. i dont know how im gonna cut my speaker holes now.. i glued one baffle in already and isnt coming off... might have to do the bottom part by hand but its not gonna look good. it will be covered by the double baffle but still, kinda pissed...

i have a real good friend in the AF right now as a crew chief on a F16 i think it is, some fighter jet, and he LOVES it also. thats awesome, Im really thinking about trying to join the air force... really appreciate the comments.

lol yeah my girlfriend stayed at her house tonight so i said why not... and thanks i love my dog soo much, more than the girlfriend.... (of like five years) anyways i just swept after each cut i made, kinda blew everything off. i work pretty clean, i like to clean up as i work. kinda a habit i had to get into working on aircraft, cant leave tools laying on top of engine deck then have it fly off. hahaha. i dont have many wood working tools obviously, not table saw, no router. skill saw, which i started using a fence but then got lazy and started free handing... =/ they cam out pretty damn good though so im happy. hopefully it holds up...

The two braces going front to back is gonna be 5/8 all thread. will this be strong enough?
-
BENCH SEAT honda killa. sooo i said screw the rain and started cutting tonight in my kitchen/living room. hahahahaha!!! good thing i live alone.... anyways one 4x8 sheet was just barely too short. got every board cut except for the double baffle so im starting to assemble tonight also... boot should be here on tuesday, as with the subs (yeah i know i said friday but they didnt come in yet) think i might run out of money, lol need to get sealant, resin and bedliner (if i got that route) but i get paid next tuesday so push comes to shove ill be getting the rest of the stuff then... also posting a picture of my current sub stage. gonna be one helluva difference.
