2ohm stable? help
[email protected] replied to zshortcut's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
just be careful on ebay, alot of people dont have warrenty or better yet a no return policy, its always good to buy something with a warrenty if you can especially when your first starting out in car audio, my advise is just turn down your gain a little bit on your current amp and save up for a decent amp that can push those subs the way they should, its gonna be tough to do at 2ohms since there 1000 watts each but you have some very nice subs so why skimp on the power, it would be like puttin regular fuel in an Indy race car just doesnt make sense. I would say just get a saz1500 and wire to .5ohms but that could go good or bad depending on how well your electrical is and how well you can manage your equipment, saving always pays off in the end tho -

wow those look pretty sweet and im digging the pricing on them, is that where you ordered them from? theres alot of different ones, which one do you think i would need for a 17" wheel -
right now im running 600 watts to each with my aq2200 wired to 2ohms, they take it like champs, im just so blown away by the sound quality and air they move, but then again iv always only had 1 good woofer so being 2 now is pretty sweet, cant wait to get the last 2

Haha very true, was just thinking of keeping the stock rims and tires stored away so if anything ever did come up i can always have that option of putting them back on or even selling them to get some of my money back , i do appreciate your criticism m5 because it makes you think about your options a little harder, but in the end i just really want some new shoes -

Yea i see where your coming from, it is alot of money just for it to look better, but thats what audio is also its a money pit just to have better sound, it all depends on whether the spender thinks its worth it or not, if i got new wheels it would be a while before i have all 4 and are put on, takes a long time to save up while still having money for your person NEEDS, i dont let it take over my personal life i just do what i can afford and wait it out. Overall i look at my car everyday and drive it alot so i like to have something that i can be proud of and just try to make it my own instead of driving something someone else created and did. So its all about personal preference and how far you wanna take it, So that said im ready to start looking for some nicer rims for my ride -

It does sag a little bit but its not noticable unless you point it out, it actually looks really straight and flat from front to back with the little sag from the subs. -

Couldn't disagree more. If you go up a size or two it'll look like rubberbands on rice. Spending $1000 on wheels and tires on a $6000 car means your priorities aren't in the right place IMO either. Drive the dang thing, if you don't like it sell it and get something else. Hmm i dont see how it will look like a rubberband on rice considering im only going up a size or two and im not getting nothing outrageous, rims is what sets the car off, im not trying to look like every other civic on the road but yet im not trying to go over the top, And if i paid 6k for my car i would have had 4,000 extra in my pocket since i got this car with only 70k miles on it pretty much brand new, civics arnt cheap and theres a reason for that. I dont see how you can say puttin rims on a car ruins it since thats person prefrence, if you dont like rims then why post here?? Jus a question -
Hey bro id just go with the sa15's and call it a day, trust me there pretty damn cheap for what they are, i just installed 2 sa10's in my civic and damn was i impressed, The response is so smooth and the rolloff is just incredible. And boy do they get low!!

Yea that sounds good, im gonna have to start calling up some local tire shops and see if they have anything good for a fair price because buying bigger rims equals bigger tires also lol -

I just went out to check, the tire is 195/60R15 and i measured the rim just make make sure and it was 16" If it is 195/60/15 then it is a "15" inch rim. Hmm really? thats kinda what i thought but i stuck a tape measure from one side of rim to other and it was at 16" -

Yea i get what your saying because most people take there civics over the top too much, but i think as long as i keep it simple just rims and a good tint job it will look good. -

Wow i really like the 2nd and 3rd one, i think a 6 or 7 spoke would look the best though because it covers more diamter in between the rim makes it look more full. And those prices are looking ALOT better lol -

Yea thats very true, but im sure ill be good because the tires i have now are pretty thick and not too appealing, so i figured if i get some clean lo pros (not too skinny) it would even out the weight that the new rims might put on, but i do want to put some new shoes on it Thickness of tire does not always translate to less weight. I would suggest keeping the same overall diameter unless you are doing some gear adjustments. Yea thats true ill have to look into this a little more, thanks for pointing this out -

That would be awsome, i just dont know what to look for in brands because some could be 99$ and then some rims are like 300 a piece, would love some outside opinions on this. -

Sundown on the windshield FTW!! Haha As you can see the car looks kinda big on these little rims its sitting on now, i think if i got a size or two bigger it would look more natural -

Well the ones i have on it now are pretty sloppy and just look horrible, Im not wanting to put 22's on it or nothing just something to spunk is up a bit, wheels really bring out a car depending on what style you go with, i just want something simple and clean, im up for optinions but i really like this style. What do you think m5? Ill go take a few pics of the car so you guys can have a better idea of what it looks like and what im trying to do, nothing ricey at all, i love simple clean cars, you dont need to do too much to a car to make it stand out a little bit -
wow that center console is awsome in a badass car!! I think the original paint would have made more sense with that fresh clean interior
