id go with more cone area, and 5.5 for an 18 isnt going to sound at its potential, the 2 12's would be much happier with that kind of space

If its too good to be true then it most likely is, my buddy just let me barrow a hifonics hfi d4 until i get my sundowns and iv got about 300 watts going to it and it sucks ass, it wont play anything before like 30hz and the highs are real pingy and annoying, stay with 4 skars and you will be good to go.

Alright guys so today i sold my 12" bl and am awaiting my sa-10's. So for now a buddy let me use his little 12" hifonics sub to hold me over until mine arrive. But i honestly dont know what i should do with the subsonic filter now since iv always ran ported lboxes. I have an aq2200 and the ssf goes from 10hz-50hz, so what should i put it at or does it not matter where its at?

so theres no real benefit from setting it at all? What should i put it too anywhere from 10hz-50hz.

I just sold my 12" bl to a buddy today so i can start my next project and i found a 300w hifonics hfi d412" laying around at his house in a sealed box and talked him into letting me "use" it until i get my sa10's.... So ill be runnin this sucker at 2ohms off of a aq2200 , i think we should take some bets on how many DAYS it can take my abuse lol . man i wanna see those Q's slammin and then the grin on your buddys face the entire time hahaha...if only my first system wasnt 2 10" subs and amp package bought at pepboys for $99 lmao.

Just wondering.. why would you want to go from skar to hifonics? Im sure it might be a tad bit louder but with horrible SQ and probably wouldnt last a third the time as a skar. If anything id check out the dcons which are around the same rms as them hifi's and will sound and perform worlds better.

yea i wouldnt take the whole dustcap off, and if anything does happen that screws up im pretty sure fi has just replacement dustcaps you can order

Yea that was the first version he did on a little crappy mic, he has an album out that he recorded in the studio that sounds much much better, ill try to get that version if i can find it

I say pick whichever you feel most comfortable with giving your money too so when you have it playing you dont wish you woulda picked your other option whatever that is. In my opinion its all about what vehicle it will be in, iv seen 1 sa-8 in a crx off of 3k doing 151.2 db, Im sure you wont be disappointed. Also theres the option of doing a sa-10 with some aero ports to minimize box size

maybe its because when your pushing down its blocking off an opening on the dustcap if thats what the issue is

try gently pushing down on the cone evenly in the middle and see if you can feel air coming out around the dustcap. be very careful when pushing down so you dont rub the coil
