    Welcome to the IHoP

Aside from cats and battery leakage we generally don't see a lot of issues from the Chevy trucks. They had some intake gasket issues for a bit, but that was cleaned up.

Only the ecotec turbo 4 it seems. Is it a wreck from a longevity standpoint or just a classic GM oops we made a POS? That is quite an uninformed little blip. GM actually has some of the best drivetrains available today, and they have for years. However, the Ectotech Turbo is a direct injection engine. It is a new technology, and it is experiancing a lot of problems. I have not googled it, but I bet if you google Audi direct injection failure you will see what I am talking about. Audi has been using it the longest, so their customers are seeing the issues now. Camshafts wiped out by the high pressure pump, and carbon buildup in the intake involving major engine teardowns at ~20K miles. I went to a school on direct injection a few months ago, and what a fucking nightmare. Direct injection has a lot of upside, but until they figure out how to control the carbon buildup I would run the fuck away. Interior wise or powertrain? Looking only at the new ones, not the previous gen. Like I said, I don't care about the interiors, unless they fall apart while trying to disassemble them.

The Encore appears to be using the direct injection Turbo I4 motor. I wouldn't touch that with a 10 foot pole. If a standard SFI is available it will be decent. The 3.9 (if it is an option) has beastly power for an NA V6. I abhore the Escapes. They are fucking nightmares from my perspective. Expect to fix a lot of small, yet pricy shit. Tiguan... well, it's a fucking VW. If cost of ownership is a concern I would run for cover. The Santa Fe seems to me like the best option. With the V6 it has surprising power. But the mileage is not that great. I know you didn't mention it, and I am not usually a fan of Chrysler products, but the Pacifica is a really nice crossover. I have not had the need to work on many, but the few I have the issues were generally small. We have one moving through used car recon right now, and I checked it in. It has about 95K on the odo, and needs very little work. It rides well and it is fairly comfortable. Something that needs to be kept in mind is that all these are VVT motors. It is imperative that proper maintenance be done (3,000 mile oil changes no matter what the manual says) and the proper fluids must be used. I am seeing a lot of VVT issues due to lack of maintenance or improper fluid usage. Sludging up VVT passages leads to failure and sludged passages means a new motor. Someone posted an article based on the major manufacturers in the US, based particularly on the cost of ownership. FWIW Hyundai came out on top (lowest cost of ownership and least downtime) with VW trailing bigtime. Buick floated right within the top 5 and Toyota and Honda scored surprisingly poorly, but a tad over Ford IIRC. Keep in mind that my perspective is under hood and under dash. My workload is almost 100% drivability diagnosis (which includes check engine lights and emissions related failures) and electrical concerns. I rarely do much preventative maintenance, but I do do all the major engine work (bottom end and complete rebuilds) and differential rebuild work here at the shop. I do not do engine/trans replacement very often, but before we do any major work like that it has to get my approval (as shop foreman and shop manager). So take what I say from that perspective. I don't give a shit about interior appointments.

Of those options I like the Rav4 and the Santa Fe/Sorrento. The SF and Sorrento are the same vehicle, but the SF has a better resale. Honestly, Hyundai/Kia has really stepped it up over the past several years. The Rav4 is solid. I like Buicks, but the Enclave is based on the 3.4/3.5/3.9 Chevy driveline. It is OK, but it is not really a Buick.

Do you buy a home just for short term gain? Who cares what happens to the value of your main home if you are still living there. NEVER buy a main home as a short term investment. Do you get a tax benefit as a renter? You still have to pay utilities as a renter. Taxes are different in differing locales. That is one reason I love where I live. My annual taxes are under $600. If you rent a house you usually have to maintain the yard as well. $100 a month for yard maintenance and snow removal is absurd. Really, with regards to general home maintenance, we spend less then $100 a year. This year we did get our ass kicked as out AC took a shit and our well got struck by lightning. But I have been a home owner for 20 years, and have never taken a bath like that before. Home ownership is a responsibility every man who is financially able should partake. It is obvious to me that Mike's career will allow him to be able to easily afford this responsibility.

Umm, NO! WAY too early. With the market as such doing so this fast is a recipe for losing money. If you haven't looked at 100+ houses in the area you don't know it. Seriously. Feel free to find me a rental property that doesn't cost more than a mortgage and is worth a damn. Additionally the house we are looking at we will likely get for only 5-10K more than it sold for in 2001 and in that time it went through a complete renovation. New plumbing, wiring, gas, 2 gas fireplaces, all walls torn down, new insulation, remodelled kitchen w/ granite and new appliances, new heater, new double paned windows, etc... Price per month has nothing to do with it if you lose a ton on the way out. He is losing by paying rent. If he already owned a house I would agree, but paying rent is paying someone else's mortgage.

That was awful. Houston looks like $hit. If I have to watch the Ravens or Gaytriots win the show I am going to shoot myself. I hate to say it, but I may be pulling for an NFC team again this year.

But yet you'll eat 4 sticks of butter and have no fear about cholesterol problems or CVD. I have to chuckle. Your simply ignorant. I am ignorant? Or your ignorant? If you are going to call me ignorant for voicing an opinion that may be contradictory to yours, at least do yourself a favor and don't display your ignorance in just a few words. No offense dude, but your (properly used) ideas seem more than a little hypocritical and rather narrow minded. You elect to let me know why huge fat intakes, while the vast majority of the medical community disagrees with your personal beliefs, are totally safe. Yet in the next breath you elect to inform me that you choose not to take in sugar, since the vast majority of the medical community agrees with your personal belief. The cool thing about the internet is, I can find a million reasons why both of us are right, and both of us are wrong. Perhaps you should learn that when one is, what 22 years old, you don't know everything. No matter how much you choose to copy and paste shit to disprove someone both you and your source may be wrong. I am twice your age, and frankly I don't know shit. But I do know this: between the 2 of us your wordy disputes are proof that you don't want to listen and learn from people who have been around a lot longer, and have likely learned a thing or 2 more than you. Frankly I don't care to prove anything, unlike you who is getting terribly defensive and jumping everyone's shit for disagreeing with you, or simply voicing alternative perspectives. But I can tell you this; I have been lifting longer then you have been alive. I can gain weight and mass, and lose weight and mass quite readily. You are stagnant. So tell me, who do you really think has more real world, first hand experience? Who do you think is just reading shit and reposting it like it is prophecy? Who do you think is the more successful of the 2 of us at gaining weight and mass? I am currently 6'1" and 225 pounds. By summer I will be 205 pounds and cut fairly lean. Guess what will happen next year? Guess who doesn't have diabetes, even though my family has a propensity towards diabetes? Guess who doesn't have high cholesterol even though my family is predisposed to CVD? I have proof that my shit works, you have nothing but an idea that, thus far, has proven to be unfruitful. Exactly. Frankly I am tired of you (Stefan) being a defensive douchebag. It is one thing to debate and joke a little, but it has gone beyond that. The kindergarten playground namecalling is fucking weak. I am done with this conversation. Stefan, continue on with your failure to achieve your goal if that is what you want to do. The best thing we can hope for is that maybe you will put your ego aside for a little bit and try what is obviously working for others. On that note, I have no personal issue with you. But if you have one with me, let me know. I am not afraid to tell someone to go fuck themselves quite directly, and frankly, I will not be called ignorant by someone half my age who lives at home with his mother without telling him to go fuck himself. We cool?

NOXplode. I love the stuff That stuff Is fucking gross, it made me feel like I was on cocaine. I would rather go to the gym tired. It made me jittery, nervous, and it made me feel like shit after working out. I would say crank... cocaine makes you feel good. Crank just cranks you up. But yeah, it is strong. The crash is bad, and I generally crash inside of 45 minutes. But the boost kicks ass. I started off with 1 scoop, and that was way too much... Even after a hard ~2hr work out I couldn't sleep. it made me nauseous, 1/2 was even too much. I take 2 - 2 1/2 scoops. 2 hours is too long to be working out. I crash so hard that I feel like sleeping immediately after the workout. It is everything I can do to down my 2 protein shakes and my mass gainer.

Meh, I think the argument is just another reason for people to say their way is better. But what matters is the end result. These companies putting out the gainers are doing research to find out what delivers the quickest and best results. You can use Body Fortress gainers and switch to a well established higher end company like BSN and see a difference in results. I personally like many of the BSN options, and use them fairly regularly if I feel the need. IMO if the goal is to achieve a certain result, a set goal, there is no reason a good supplement is a bad option for a short term. Get to that set goal, and don't keep raising the bar, then go back to the natural method. I am not saying don't keep raising your personal bar, but set the goal you want to achieve with supplements, then step off and go the original route. When I get going with my winter routine (bulk) I see far greater results then Stefan is seeing now with a little help from BSN. I can throw on 2-3 pounds in a week at the start with ~3000 calories derived from supps and another 2-2500 from food, then slow down generally after I gain 10-15 pounds. I think ~220 is where my body wants to be, but I generally get up to 225 before I trim down. IMO cutting is really where you need to go more natural. But I have found the best results with a bulk in winter, and a cut in spring. You need to build the mass first, then define it.

I agree. No Stop fucking around and buy mass gainers. I know you say you want to keep it natural, but there is nothing natural about eating 2 sticks of butter or drinking 2 cups of olive oil. Based on the shit I see you putting in your body I would say at this rate you are doing massive damage to your digestive and pulmonary systems. You can throw back 5Kcals in 20 minutes with gainers.

What did you think of them as, resorts? What did you think of them as, resorts? Where do you think he vacations? Most of ours is older people and I am sure if you look hard enough there are less than nice ones. Hell I did live in a nice one when we first started out for about 3 years. I sold the trailor for more than I paid for it, but that was a nice area that was older people. My neighbor who passed away recently has 2 rental trailers on his land. The kids are breaking up the property into 3 chunks and selling it. 1 is an old beat up trailer on an acre and they want $18K for it. Another is a nicer trailer on 2.9 acres and they want $35K for it, and the third is the main house that is in rough shape, on 2 acres with a nice pond. They want $150K for it. I want the nice trailer and more importantly the land it is on, as it has really nice riding trails on it, and it might be a nice rental. For the $ the land is worth it. The shitty trailer I am not terribly interested in, but if I can get both for $45 I might do it. I have never tried renting a trailer though, so I am a bit nervous. Does anyone know what to look for as far as typical repairs or damage on a trailer?

FWIW, a customer of mine came by about a month ago with some broad who was banging his friend... Apparently I made an impact. She has broken up with said friend and talks about me. She want's to come by and see me after work some day and have a few drinks. I guess she knows she is fine and likes to show off. Perhaps I will have some pics of her and her "stripper friends" soon. Who knew getting old could be so cool?

    Welcome to the IHoP

Buy rental property. Buy a cheap house near the ghetto. The best investment in this case is a cheap house ($35-40K) with roughly a 2% monthly of cost rent. I have a few houses that generate me a good chunk of change. $35K houses that generate me $600 a month. Well over mortgage monthly. If you are that far ahead, have your money start making money. Fuck spending money that will make less. FWIW, I am worth a good chunk on paper. My rentals are almost all paid off in under 7 years. When I opt to sell I am golden.

One of the dudes I went to school with raced a sprint car. He brought it down to school one time and some of us got to drive it. The driveshaft connects to the rear end. Push start obviously. That fucker was a total beast. I have driven 2 NHRA SS/DX class world record setting cars (Lou Czarnota's lightning rod and Ron Feruchi's GN). They really had nothing on the acceleration of the sprint car. No more brown sugar either, so enjoy the pics. I almost gave her the sandt cock this friday. Her and a friend of her's were gonna tag team me. She got jealous and I said no. She became a raging bitch. A threesome with 2 cuties was worth it, but she wants me for herself. I am not taking chances for one piece of ass. Too bad too, because it is a nice piece. Why do bitches that know you won't take chances for one piece pull shit like that?
