    Welcome to the IHoP v.2

Interesting. Another thing you can do for straight cuts is use wood clamps / vice on one panel of wood on top of the panel you want to cut. Then you have an edge you can run your circular saw / jig saw against. I've tried this and I just can't get it right, It doesn't help that I have a cheap circular saw/blade, but if I'm gonna spend $100 on a new circular saw, this might be a better option for me. I haven't shopped around yet because honestly I didn't even know these existed until about half hour ago, but there seems to be a LOT of pricey ones. these 6 inch saws have thin blades that flex under a load. Your edges will be wavy. The idea is cool, but the implementation is weak.

Dispersion is extremely broad, simply due to the shape of the baffle. I have heard some low slung horns with an odd soundstage, but it is pretty hard to fuck them up.

Looks fun. I wouldn't mind riding in trees! I would kill for your dunes. I have watched a lot of dune riding vids and it looks like a blast. And this is my back yard.

Had a good ride today. Rode with my buddy in the morning, and my son in the afternoon.

DeWalt. I have a 4 piece 18 volt set (impact, drill, reciprocating saw, flashlight), and a 3 piece 12 volt compact (impact, driver, flashlight) and a 12 volt borescope. All excellent equipment. I use the 12 volt stuff daily, I mean they get a workout. I was not a fan of their older stuff, but they have stepped it up since they were bought up by MAC/Stanley tools. They also have a compact 20 volt impact I am keeping on my wish list. Ryobi is junk. FWIW Makita is very nice stuff (have a ton of it as well), and Rigid is solid. Not sure if they still do it, but Rigid was offering lifetime warranties on their gear. This used to include not only the drill, but also the batteries.

Almost rolled my quad tonight. Hitting a corner hard on loose gravel and my ass end was kicked wide. I caught the grass and the bike just flew. It was more luck that kept me afloat then skill. Ended up facing backwards, my right shoulder is really sore, and I twisted my ankle pretty fucking good.

And the route I've always taken. I had a non-planned curveball on this car as i was told the brakes were "just done". They were new within a year, but had 20k mi on them. Needless to say needing to do them wasn't planned. My problem is the cheap option is another GM and I've had seriously TERRIBLE luck with GM. Matters made worse when I don't fit with the stock seating format although that can be overcome and done in budget. Not very common. GMs are terribly reliable.

Perhaps you need to lower your expectations to equal your spending limit. Sounds like a buy the jeep recommendation. As a mechanic I could never recommend one to a friend in good conscious. You are either beyond the law of diminishing returns, or you want justification for spending money you don't feel you should spend. You make enough to comfortably spend the money for what you want. So do it. But if you choose to be a cheap ass like me, then settle. I have some money, but I choose to live modestly. When I got cancer I realized that I needed to have more, for myself and my family, if anything went wrong. I was lucky to live, and even more lucky to be able to go back to work and provide for my family. Neither seemed likely when I was given 6 months to live. And if I live a long life, which is not very likely, I will have plenty to spend my retirement happily. If not, my family can live comfortably for the next couple generations off my work, investments, and frugality. SO you need to weigh your decision. Either cut back on the car and take what the free ride will afford, or bite the bullet. Either way, get the best that you can or will choose to afford. I suggest being cheap. But that is just me.

I have heard of the break aways, just never really considered investing in one. If he breaks a perch I will grab one, but $10 for a lever is easy to swallow. Looks fucking awesome.

Laid it down, huh? That sucks. I was pissed at my son 2 weeks ago for breaking his clutch lever and getting a flat. What do you ride again?

WTF? Range Rovers are HUGE piles of shit. They ride way worse than an Escalade, are total pieces of shit, HUGE cost of ownership... there is nothing nice about them. I had an '08 in the shop the other day with a jumped timing belt and a rattling intake manifold (variable intake runner shaft torn up). $4000 tab to fix it. A complete piece of shit. The seats are miserable, they feel like they have no suspension, they oversteer like fucking pigs... OMG, I am trying to think of one good thing to say about them and I am drawing a total fucking blank. I have worked on several RRs through the years, and every time I have I have thought they were the hugest pieces of shit on the road. I would rather own a VW/Audi product...

Yeah, I wouldn't push a Grizzly in a corner. The independent rear suspension is really not conducive to laying it out. They pitch too much and are terribly unpredictable. Bikes are too much work for this old man. I'll ride my son's for an hour and I am exhausted. Didn't you just get done complaining about GM's cheap interiors? Infinity interiors fall apart all the damn time. Sure, they wrap the plastic, but who cares when the shit is falling down?

Yeah, the Ethos is OK, but IMO it is way overpriced. For similar money you can get the Autel Maxidas, which is a much more powerful device.

You aren't referring to the 509 Carbon, are you? This is the helmet I bought... http://www.flyracing.com/product/moto/racewear/helmets/f2-carbon-solid-helmet/168/matte-black I am not a big fan of all the graphics. My bike is all black, as is my gear. No fancy stickers or graphics for me.

509's fit great in an F2. Manufacturer please! 509 Do you use them with a Carbon F2? They look pretty fuckin big compared to my opening. I wonder if REI carries them locally...

If you haven't got gloves yet check these http://www.bikebandit.com/alpinestars-smx-2-air-carbon-motorcycle-gloves The carbon knuckles are great for trees, rocks, cactus. I generally get a size bigger than normal, and wear kevlar glove liners (helps keep my callous's down) I had those in my hands yesterday. I bought some Teknic Supervents

Bought myself a Fly Racing F2 Carbon helmet in flat black today. Fits great, looks good, and offers a lot of room and ventilation. I do wish the goggle opening was a shade bigger. I bought some Fly goggles, and while they fit perfectly it makes me tilt the helmet back further then I like. I may have to get some new goggles. I also ordered some handgaurds and Maxxis Razors.

That sucks... Daytime pics, finally... Do people on forums complain of inside wheel lift in the corners?Curious, morons on the snowmobile forums want a bump compliant sled and then they bitch that it handles likes shit. In reality they drive like pussies and no shit dealing with bumps means a higher CG. Not really from what I have seen. But I think most people know to expect this. You can get wider axle and front control arms to help. But most of the forums I go to are MX racing forums, and those guys expect wheel lift. I'd figure the same for those buying an "aggressive trail sled" but it seems that the ass draggers from the past that had no suspension have soured their views on how they use their body in corners. Was curious if it translated to land as well. I suppose the old 3 wheelers set the precedence though and although they couldn't lift it required body english to control. I have seen on some of the more casual riding forums that people don't like the TRX450, but they tend to be more of the ute rider rather then the sport rider. I tend to steer clear of these forums, as personally I am aggressive in everything I do. Even though I hadn't ridden a bike of any sort for over 20 years, it took me 5 minutes on my son's new dirtbike to start thrashing it. So much so that he was in disbelief at how hard I rode it, end he has some pretty ballsy buddies he rides with. So it is more in my nature to seek out forums where the riders are more sport oriented. I have looked at a few Raptor/YFZ450R and the TRX450R based forums, and the rider base there is more prone to actually riding, rather then sitting on the seat and jacking the throttle. What I have found on these forums are real racers, rather then the casual rider who might complain about the work required to really ride it. So I guess it is more of an issue where I found riders, rather then just forums where people are getting into something they don't really comprehend. And to be honest, I got ahold of a bike that was more then I was able to comprehend. But I have ~5 hours on it now and I am pretty comfortable with it. Admittedly it still shocks the fuck out of me from time to time. My son rode it around the yard for the first time yesterday and said he wasn't quite ready for it. But he wants a stock 450 now... right after I bought him the damn dirt bike
