Bummer... fucking Fords I love shit like this. I love the feeling of falling, and wish I could base jump or wingsuit...

Could have swapped over the speed density for MAF when the turbo was installed? Doubtful. In stock trim it is a twin turbo to start with. Stefan? So did you hook the dude up?

About the Audi shop guy... one of my coworkers is a big Euro guy. He said the GT2s were speed density systems, not MAF. So I went and looked at the engine... several of them... Not a MAF in sight. Interesting...

And therein lies part of the issue. I am not 100% certain what I want. I have stated before that I would drive the damn thing till the wheels fell off, and am still partial to that plan, just wondering if its a bright idea. I'll drive a vehicle until the wheels fall off. While I know I am in the minority here, I feel it is just a way to get to and from and frankly I couldn't give a fuck about it as long as it is reliable and in the case of my "nice" vehicle it should look decent. My truck it just a work truck, and I treat it as such. I say just drive it. I haven't had a car payment in 17 years. Keep your money for more important things, like a place to live. What year Tundra? Engine and trans (manual/auto)? Trim (ie: SE/XE/TRD)? I'll look at the diagrams and lead you to a fix for the charger/lighter. 2011 SR5 with the TRD Off Road package. Automatic, 4x4, no navi, power drivers seat, back up cam. J There is a large fuse in the underhood junction block for the power outlets. It actually feeds a relay in the under dash junction block. So check all fuses under the hood as well. Unfortunately Toyota doesn't like to number fuses, but I bet it is in a stack of fuses on the battery terminal. Toyota and Nissan love to do this shit, and often times they will corrode in 2 near the fuses. Nissan liked to use fusible links, but Toyota likes to have beefy wafer fuses.

Move to North Carolina AAAAAAAAAAAAANNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNND I'm spooked on an A3 for another year. Thank you.I think it would be fun working on cars like that.Sure, for those of us with the time, space, money, tools, equipment, skills and spare car. I mean from a service point. It would help me understand why they do some of the crazy shit they do. Not sure if I would ever own something like that. From a service point of view you will just continually question their engineering on a lot of things. Often times you will find yourself dumbfounded by their engineering. Amen.

Fuck Audi. We do a lot of Audi drivability, and it is ridiculous.

To the best of my knowledge, they are all Cosworths. The V10 is similar to the Audis, but Audi flatly denies any involvement in the project.

The 30K on one is ~$30K Holy fuckin' buzzkill. HOW? It is a race car. Engine overhaul is part of a 30K. All manufacturers have been using these systems for years. Lately, my bread and butter has been diagnosing communication issues in these systems. Vehicles use virtual systems, basically sharing information from one computer to another across one wire or 2 wires, to save in wiring, sensors, etc. For example, a cruise control module might grab information from the ECM (engine temp, throttle position), the BCM (AC Request) the TCM (Vehicle speed) and the ABS (wheel speed, yaw rate, slip). Rather than having all it's own input, it uses various systems on a network, and actually has very little of it's own input. Failures in these systems can be extremely difficult to diagnose, and they are big money for me. It might be on the ticket. The W actually told me today that she would rather me spend the extra on a car I would really be happy driving with lower miles than to get a new car for herself. Broke my heart. She did say she would steel the RS4 if I got it, and take it everymorning before I wake up. For what ever reason she finds that car to be her unicorn. Then that's the car I would buy if it were meIt is a scary car to drive. The clutch was actually tough to work. It needed what felt like 2 feet of travel. It also was known as the single most expensive to own vehicle for a little while. All kinds of problems. It would have been my dream car when I was in my teens. maybe just a clutch adjustment? What were the main problems with the car?Well, I would have to look it up as it may not be the same year.... however a lot of those RS models used a tuned down lamborghini motor. And before they got the hang of it, tuning it down was wrecking them. And they were destroying the gearbox and quatro system. 90% were covered under warranty, but from what I read they didn't fix anything. Just replaced and then everyone knew that if they drove it to 60% of it's ability the thing would eat itself. Again I don't remember what years, but it was horrible growing pains and used really really spendy Lambo parts. It is a Cosworth engine, actually.

This was a 2006 and it felt like the most insane car I have ever driven. It made a z06 feel slow in comparison. It was too small, too angry and the clutch needed to be pushed more than a foot and a half to hit the bottom. It was hate and fury distilled into a car and given grip. Interesting, because the first year (and slowest) Z06 has a 0-60 that is 1.1 seconds quicker then the RS4 in the RS4s best trim.

Find me a fuel efficient Subie. No idea what the older ones get, but I'm sure the awd doesn't help. Ours gets around 30, but it's newer.Spendy to fix from what I understand. Bad as VW or cheeper Audi. Not benz spendy, but not good. She likes them quite a bit though. Legacy or some such. Acura TSX or TL is in the sale area I think. But waaaaay cheeper to fix. I bet her hospital co workers will think she is loaded too. Subarus are relatively inexpensive to repair. Very easy to work on. In the MN winters, likely the best choice. Edges suck dick. You couldn't give me one of those piles of shit. I also hate the edge. Thank you for your info on the Subaru. I was told they are spendy to fix by a Subaru dealership mechanic and a buddy who owned the STi had a few problems back to back with his newer one. He traded in his S4. He actually liked the car more than the Audi and his 911s4. Just had a bunch of little issues. STIs and WRXs will cost for repairs, your Legacy, Forester, etc. will not. Seriously? 3 years ago I was quote $12k from MotorwerksI just left a message to get an actual quote from the shop. I will post results. Seth, what would your shop charge for a clutch replacement? From my reading almost NO SMG issues ever happen. Just clutch after clutch on the non updated units. Year make model? The 30K on one is ~$30K

I have been using my real name (sandt38) since the start of the intrawebz.

Yes, literally... That's me. My eye and lips will droop on the side of my head that the pain is in.

Fortunately mine are unilateral. I have puked so hard I busted my blood vessels in my eyes. Fortunately I didn't cycle this year.

When I get my clusters I will snort up one or 2 a day for a few weeks before my other meds stop them.

You only need to reply once Sean.

No, and they cannot show me a comparable. One of the comparables was from August 11.....before I was even in the accident and they can't even show me the add they saw it in.Fuckers. That is BS, they need to be able to replace it. No they don't. You will get the lowest local comparable price less your deductible if it is a no fault or your fault situation. In a parking lot it is no fault, period. This is a vehicle I am certain has no lean on it and it is over 2 years old so you do not get replacement value. Been there, done that. Total loss is considered 66% of NADA or KBB, whichever is lowest, unless you have an appraised value policy. You can generally buy back a total loss for "scrap value", which is laughable plus deductible. My wife totaled my pickup ~5 years ago (1994 Nissan) and my buyback was over $1100. Ridiculous, as typical scrap value would have been ~$250 and my deductible is $50. Yes, I over insure everything. I was able to repair my truck for ~$150 in parts, a come along, a tree, a hammer and a prybar, some solder and my soldering iron. Fuck body shops.

Ironically, right about the time you were typing this I was filling my wife's pussy with protein.

Big mistake. Never borrow what you don't need.

That's freaking awesome J, you made that kids day that much better! It's pretty rare to catch a ball at a game! Maybe you can find someone that dvr'd the game? That is a big thing I miss about living in SoCal. I am not a big baseball fan by any means... watching on TV is so fucking boring to me, but I love going to a pro game. I went to several Padres games and starting dating a broad who lived in Anaheim who loved going to Angels games so I saw a shit ton of them. The farm team games suck. Always stupid shit going on between innings, but I love being at an MLB game. Glad to hear you had a good time. The farm team games in Buffalo used to be pretty good. Got to see and get autographs of some names when I was a kid. Manny and alex Ramirez, Bartolo Colon, Richie Sexton, Enar Diaz, and a few more. As far as catching the ball, I just got lucky. I hope to see the replay sometime soon. J I did love Bisons games. Used to go to them all the time. Our local farm teams here suck, though.
