    Welcome to the IHoP v.2

Not yet. Lots of buddies load. Mostly pistol though. You are looking at rifle info I bet. What info are you looking for? Interested in annealing. Wanting to know what units are working well. Something like these white ones here http://www.eastbay.com/product/model:188595/sku:54886100/nike-air-max-+-2013-mens/white/wolf-grey/&SID=7726&inceptor=1&cm_mmc=SEM-_-PLA-_-Google-_-54886100 Those will make terrible everyday shoes...at least bang for the buck. WAY too soft. Some support is seriously necessary if you don't want to whack out your body. If it has to be an "athletic" shoe at least make it a trail running/walking instead of indoor. To put things in perspective, my buddy runs. He ONLY wears his shoes for running. Still burns through between 14-20 pairs / year. Only 150lbs as well. I stretched 2 pair of $200 asics kayanos to last 6 months. Purchased them every 6 months, sometimes sooner. And they were shot. In the winter when I ran inside only, they would look new, but they were fucked. If I got any other pairs I would go through them in a couple months. Maybe use them for lifting weights for a while... But athletic shoes are shit for anything but athletics, and they are pure consumables. My running was 3 miles 3 times a week. I was about 250 - 265. That was only 70 min of running a week, and those fuckers were toast in 6 months for 2 pair. How does one go through a $200 pair of shoes that quickly? I wear a cheap $50 set of New Balance to work everyday. I usually get a year out of a pair, and I assure you the hell they go through in a shop is far worse than what anyone except for a runner or hiker will put their shoes through.

Yes. I use it with my Roku. It is a serious pain in the ass to set up, requires devices to be on the same router, and it is far more limited then I had hoped for. If you have a device like Roku or GoogleTV I suggest you try it with the free app for your computer to link it to your device. Don't pay for your phones or other wi-fi devices until you try it. As far as I am concerned, it is pretty close to worthless. It doesn't like to communicate with my server on my home network. I have to link the server to my laptop to get it to communicate. It is one of the, if not the least used channel on my Roku. My friend who lives two states away uses it and he gave me his password. I can watch any movie he has off my Roku. Plan on watching The Hobbit tonight. thanks, i might try it out sometime What device will you be using it with?

Sorry for your loss, bud. When I was young I lost several friends to suicide. It was really nothing more exotic than a side effect of heavy hard drug use at such an impressionable age. You know how it is to be frozen into a house all winter and you party hard with a small group of close friends I am sure as you are also from B-lo. I lost one of my very best friends, Alan, when he was 18 due to suicide. We went to school together from 5th grade on... which is the year we moved out of the inner city into the Southtowns. So it was, for me, one of my longest term friendships at the time. His was the only one I took hard. I have no real advice for dealing with the suicide of someone if he was real close like Alan was to me. It is hard. As for the others, we threw parties in their honor (such as their honor was), and remembered the good times.

Similar in construction to a bi-metal strip like we see in turn signal flashers I assume, only with much slower expansion and contraction rates, yes? Actually it is completely temperature dependent. ie, you can deform it at any rate you like but to reform you heat it to it's equilibrium temp and it snaps back rather quickly. Speed is controlled by the heating used. Super amazing to see first hand. First piece I held was about 8 years ago. Metal coupon the size of a business card and around 20ga. I bent the shit out of it. Crumpled into a ball. Then hit it with a heat gun and it flattened out PERFECTLY. Interesting. I expected temperature fluctuations to create different final states, not a complete distortion returning to initial form based on temperatures. Seeing the linked spring was cool, but I would really dig the flat form that you saw initially. I assumed high temps would create cooling gaps and low would allow it to return to base form.

    Welcome to the IHoP v.2

I have a 270WSM Tikka T3 Hunter. It is a fantastic round, but the twist rate on the Tikka is less than desirable for long range shooting. The short fat cases offer a more complete burn in the case. While I like the WSM they are prone to chamber load issues because of the fat cases and relatively tiny pills. The big long fuckers have loading issues too. Neither should in your case with a hunting set up and not a big magazine fed target rifle.New bbl on the Tika? I know, it's not the same as a new rifle.... But just a thought to save some bucks. I can't seem to find barrels for the Tikka. Still not working. Actually, I had to laugh too. I can see Sean getting more and more frustrated at his keyboard. ... and the problem with this is what, exactly? I have driven every form of assisted braking, and done a significant amount of work on all of them as well (at my current shop we do a shit ton of work on hybrid and electric vehicles, so yes I work on hydro-electric/recumbent with nitrogen piston pedal assemblies, expensive pieces of shit). In my experience the very best feeling and most reliable assist is vacuum assist braking. Hybrid braking systems feel completely jacked. I am aware of recumbent braking, but pedal feel is awful and it is not progressive in any sense of the word. Hydraulic assist is also not terribly progressive and overly dependent upon the pump and delivery subsystems integrity, and we all know how reliable power steering systems are. Hydro-electrical systems that we see on a lot of newer Toyotas, and have seen on GMs as far back as the 80s (my Grand National had the "hydroboost" hydro-electric assist unit on it) have a very good pedal feel, but they rely on nitrogen bladder accumulators that frequently fail and contaminate the fluid wiping out the pump in many cases. The Hydroboost on the GN (also common on a lot of the big Roadmasters of the late 80s and early 90s) failed religiously every 2 years at a cost... jobber cost, mind you, of $12-1400. I switched to vacuum assist after my 5th unit.

Yes, you can chamber a 284 in short action.

It's absurd, but .300 win mag is one of the most popular white tail guns around here. I would take a 7mm magnum over it. And if your not shooting really far a 7mm WSM is pretty awesome and fits into a short action. 7mm ballistics are awesome for the bigger boolits. I'm going to build a 6.5 CM I think. Not wanting a common caliber though or a mag. Why a Creedmoor Matt? A 6.5-55 or a 6.5-284 both offer better ballistics and heavier load options because of their case size.

    Welcome to the IHoP v.2

So I am currently in the planning stages of my new rifle. Looking at a Savage 22-250 Rem, and have made up my mind on what I will be investing in, and the tweeks forthcoming. Still contemplating glass, but I already have my barrel, rings, mount, lug, and bipod figured out. I am going to give the Accutrigger a try, as the rifle I am getting offers it in a clean 1 pound pull. I have decided to get my youngest son a nice all around rifle. I am pretty much set on a .243 Win for him. This will allow him a nice rifle to keep up with my 22-250 Rem for varminting duties, plus he will be able to use it for local deer and most other eastern big game. But with the 22-250 I have a big gap in my big game duties. Obviously when you consider that I am looking at a 22-250 (I will be looking at 75Gr hot loads and a 8 or 9 twist) I want a rifle that will handle long range duties. I want tack drivers. In my research I came across a killer round. 6.5-284 Norma. I have been looking at ballistics and it is extremely impressive at long distances. From coyotes at 700 yards to elk at 925 yards, this round is devastating. The elk takes about 10 steps and collapses. Ammunition is expensive as hell, but loading costs will be modest. There are plenty manufacturers producing the rifles, and it will cost me a fuck ton less then my 22-250. Yes, I know a .308 does very well at big distance, and a 7MM would be better suited for suck big game, but honestly I may take a whitetail at 600 yards, but I am not hunting elk any time soon. I like that the 6.5-284 is such an odd round as well. While everyone is pulling out their .308s, 30-06s and 7MMs I will be pulling out a 800 yard tack driver. Anyone have any experience with the Norma round?

Had that happen to me last year. At 300 feet and fried electrical. It got hit by lightning, so I figured Nationwide would be on my side. Nope. $3600 to have it done (opted for the best pump available and the best wire) and they shit on me. Fuck Nationwide. I dropped those cunts. So you are saying nationwide is not on your side? No. I assure you, they are not.

I can (and have) spent fucking hours watching wingsuit jumps. That is the coolest shit ever. I would seriously be perfectly comfortable with dying doing shit like that. If watching it is that much of a rush, I couldn't even begin to fathom how amazing it is to do it.

  24. Can he name the brand amps he has looked at? I have used skars high end SK series amp and was happy with it's performance. But as a company it sucks! Also their subs might get loud but have poor sound quality. my tech repairs thousands of amps a year. he has made some of his own and then sold the finished design to other companies but he cant tell me who because its in the contract. He was the repair tech for ED but he has also contracted for Pioneer and Alpine. Let just say this. He can take most any amp and make it better or find where the week spots are and improve them. he has amps that cost thousands . He is not some hack job repairman. He has the equipment to repair even the newest stuff that in some cases most cant . I would trust my tech over Steve Mantz any day of the week. he told me this 125.4 was actually well made and he hates Chinese amps and most of the amps that some people think are good. he knows more than probably most of us on all these forums. He is not just a repairman but he is also inside the loop and knows what he is talking about . This is akin to saying you'd trust and actor who plays a Dr. on television over an actual MD. Seriously. . . You're talking about a guy who REPAIRS amps over a man who has DESIGNED some of the greatest amplifiers of all time, many of them ahead of their times, has been tapped by manufacturers around the world to do OEM work, has lasted through every incarnartion of the industry and continues to stay around. What does that say of Mr. Mantz? This has to be one the most ignorant statements I've ever read. This repair guy is THAT good.
  25. I got this same SKAR amp just a few weeks ago. I elected to power my Milles with it instead of using my Butler. All I can say is "Amazing"! These little class Ds sound better than tubes. FWIW, I did opt to add a turbocharger and intercooler to it to boost performance. Fuck tubes, I am all about some SKAB Audio!
