I miss the finger lakes.

There are a lot of vehicles that will go 200k if you take good care of them. I have 3 with over 200,000. 2 Buicks with ~225 apiece, and a 94 Nissan D21 with 360,000. The truck is remarkable... 3 sets of brakes, 3 tune ups, a clutch at 300K, a starter just a couple months ago, a 10 year old battery, and belts. I spend pennies a year on it, and drive it all the time. It needs paint and a few seals, which it may get shortly, but it is the best vehicle I can recall in my years of fixing cars. It's ridiculous.

You buyin?

I will. I ordered it. The Jolida may happen in the future. I honestly want those Paradigm Prestige 85Fs first.

Ordered the Sennhieser HD600 headphones, 2 sets of tubes (JJ 6V6gt, and Electroharmonics 6V6gt) , the Behringer DAC, some new interconnects, and a few other goodies. Everything is estimated to arrive by July 2nd at the latest. Thanks for the input and advice. I am contemplating snagging the Jolida Glass FX III Tube DAC/Headphone amp and leaving it hooked to the HD600s http://www.jolida.com/product/glass-fx-tube-dac-iii

Classic film. Saw it in theaters! Color me envious! If you ever visit we can flex the paradigms in theater mode while enjoying some drinks. Fuckin A, bud. I am in love with the new Prestige series from Paradigm. Gonna save some pennies for the 85f in midnight cherry.... Soooo sexy. I want to run them on some Jolida JD502 tubes They are awesome. My local shop always has the newest Paradigms and we always spend time listening to them. My ears have deeper pockets than my pants. That would be an awesome set up. I've created a monster! Honestly though, I have been a huge fan of theirs for years. I could also stand some ML stats... But that would require a few more years of saving. I love mine and so glad I took your advice a few years ago. I love listening to the new models, but love mine more because they are paid for. and broken in I hate break in periods!

OK, tomorrow I order the HD600s, the Behringer UCA202 (thanks, Sean... saved me a bundle and the reviews/tech data looks great on these), JJ 6v6gt tube set. Do I need to add anything to this order?

Behringer UA202 (IIRC) 202 for sure. Has BB DAC's and sounds killer. I have a few of them. $20, but I wouldn't personally spend more. UCA202?

Next purchase, DAC. I want fairly compact, USB in, 3.5mm or stereo RCA out (Prefer the 3.5MM though, as I have an awesome 3.5-Stereo RCA cable) unit. I want a 24bit 96kHz unit. Looking at the Audioquest Dragonfly and the`Schitt Modi. Yes, seriously, Schitt. the Schitt Valhala was one of the tube amps I was looking at initially. Jesus, I'm gonna have a chunk into my damn headphone setup. Modi http://schiit.com/products/modi-2 Dragonfly http://www.audioquest.com/usb_digital_analog_converter/dragonfly-dac

Love that picture. I'm itching to order the 598's. Hell yeah. The 598s look awesome. They are 50 ohm units so they will fair well with higher output devices like iPods, good phones, and good laptops, plus they are high enough load that you should have a good headphone amp selection available to you if you go that route.. I'll have to get a shot with the Tung-Sols in it. They look better then the 6P6Ps.

Bummer. While I was bed ridden and out of work for 8 months, I still went back to work while on my final round of chemo, puking in the toilet every 30 minutes. I never took any aid, no food stamps, disability, etc. It makes me sick when I see people taking advantage of the system. *edit* Everyone except Matt, that is.

My buddy suggested: Miles Davis in a way goes without saying. But I am not big on trumpet, so I tire of him quickly. I have listened to Parker, Washington, Dizzy, Davis, Hampton, and Gordon so far from that list. SO far I really only like a spattering of Dexter Gordon and Miles Davis. Dexter Gordon plays very well, and he is not so corny sounding, but he is overly precise a lot of the time. It sounds choppy how he enters and cuts off his notes so abruptly. I like a more smooth, relaxed sound. I like Jeff Coffin's style of sax better (from Bella Fleck and The Flecktones, and Dave Matthews Band) for example. DMBs #41 and #36 and Dreaming Tree are good examples of his style that I dig. I have not listened to Thelonius Monk or Coltraine yet... now I know some Coltraine, but I have yet to spend any serious time with his music yet. Those I have listed are the ones suggested by a buddy of mine who is big into Jazz (although he is not an Acid Jazz fan), and ones I have tried to seriously spend time listening to... not just a 30 second spot and calling it good or bad. I'll spend a few hours looking for bright spots. I have liked some smooth jazz I have heard, but don't even know where to start to listen to that genre. Any input would be amazing. I pay for Spotify, so I have a large catalog available to sample whatever you suggest. Just the artist isn't enough. There is a huge difference between early and late Miles Davis. Almost big band to free jazz. I like the stuff in the middle. Considering he has over 500 albums out choosing becomes tough. No one has referenced any guitar, so I will: Joe Pass, Wes Montgomery, Grant Green are where I'd start. If you want the jazz version of Michael Angelo Batio then John McLaughlin would be the right start. He has some amazingly awesome albums and some dreadful fusion...of course you may like the fusion that I don't. I hear you. I didn't even consider the stylistic changes of Davis over his 50 year career. He more or less led almost every shift in jazz style over his career. I think more of my issue is the fact that I just don't like the trumpet... or at least, I grow fatigued listening to it for any period of time. I have noted the musicians mentioned. I never even thought of guitar led jazz... that might really be the ticket for me.

I am shocked that they went with those foam cups. It is seriously the singular reason I am not buying them. OK, fair enough. the 600s it is.

Yeah, I kinda dig that tune. I'll spend more time listening to them. Is the specific disc Smokin hearts and broken guns? *edit* country as fuck ain't doin it for me though... I like classic country, but am not huge on today's pop/country style. I'll still listen to their catalog though. What do you know about that hank williams sr? That's more like it. Old Johnny Cash (Cocaine Blues) too. For more modern county I like Lucero, which is more like a heavier, less refined Uncle Tulepo. *edit* As soon as I hit enter Tupelo's Sandusky started to play in my Senns... It is one of my favorite jams.
