In-n-Out What the hell is that? I don't have those here. Best fast food burger joint on the planet http://www.in-n-out.com/ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/In-N-Out_Burger They used to cut the potato and fry it fresh right in front of you. Aside from some of my friends and the GF's family, In-N-Out is the inly thing I miss about Arizona. Hell In-N-Out was one of the perks of going out for a night on the town in Tucson. J i feel the same about SoCal... well the weather was nice... cheap cocaine... beautiful women... Nevermind.

I know it's annoying, but I love glowing tubes..

You have them over there? Sadly no. I lived in Southern California for 10 years.

How many of you are old enough to remember Bloom County? I never got into comics, but something about Opus, Wild Bill, Milo, and Steve always made me laugh. Berkeley Breathed decided to revive the stip after 25 years of absence... Comic gold, I tell you.

Depends. Butler makes a 5 channel amp that retails for ~$3k. You can find them on Audiogon for a grand if you are patient. http://www.butleraudio.com/tdb5150.php Granted, it's a hybrid, but Butler does great stuff with hybrids

Thanks Neal! I am really happy with the Tung Sol driver tubes I am running now so I wanted to play with the preamp side of things. The Telefunken cost a lot more than I promised myself I would spend on a single tube (cost more than both the Tung Sols combined), but right now I can say I understand what all the hype is about NOS tubes. Even with them barely broken in (paid for a 24 hr burn in) the soundstage got WAY bigger. Bottom end is noticeably more extended, top end is more extended, and vocals really seemed to wake up quite a bit. They offer high gain options with these tubes, but I decided to forgo that option to stave off the microphonics concern common in small plate preamp tubes. You really want your preamp quiet as possible because your drivers will boost any unfavorable noise, harmonics, and microphonics. Honestly though, the gain on this tube is considerably greater than my stock preamp tube. The amp is nearly twice as loud (audibly) as it was with the stocker in there. Initially: Now:

Preamp tubes. Telefunken is the one I am loving right now.

Cool collection, but why grade the copper pennies? Costs more to grade than they are worth! I bet the fine 07 Indian is worth ~$7. That may be a kind estimate.

Cash from a collapsed economy is worthless. Find some silver and gold and bury it. While currency will be worthless these metals are a great hedge against a failing dollar.

post mint marks. Silver coins may be worth more based on where it was struck. For example a bag condition 1878 Philadelphia Morgan can be worth around $40, where a same year Carson City could fetch over $500. I have several Morgans. They are some of my favorite silver US coins. What would you think that WW11 coin I posted would fetch? I don't know for sure. I've never seen one. I assume not a lot, as it appears to be made of aluminum, I was just interested in it for the cool factor. That was common in that era, as brass/copper were needed for armament. So copper coins of that ilk might be worth having appraised. If you have a 43 or 44 copper penny it is worth a fuckton. I want to say the 43 is the most valuable with one selling recently for almost $50G. I have some WWII Aluminum wheat pennies that I keep for a cool factor, but they are only worth ~4 cents.

I don't know why, but this commercial makes me laugh like crazy. Her face at the end...

Would have been classic if you had grabbed some Hebrew Nationals to throw on the grill to go with those bitch brews. Wanna sell it? I'd love that in my coin collection.

Because I live in the South. Seth is a NY Jew name (no, I am not Jewish). Not sure how that will fly. You know all the old Jew stigmas. That is just my feeling. So what, Seth's Auto?

Can you employee me? I'll be a great boss, as long as I maintain my belief system (I pray this doesn't change my personality), but getting your foot in the door won't be easy. I will be very particular about who I employ. My old boss told me "Don't become an asshole." I know that going into business can make a good person into a dick. But I am hoping my belief system stays intact. I will have to work hard to keep my ego in check. I know where the money is made, and that is out in the shop. I honestly believe that the best employee is a happy employee. I understand that money is why we are there. I realize that we need money to keep our families going. Pay will be very good at my shop (strong flat rate or commissioned pay), family will come first, I'll make the workplace a positive atmosphere open to suggestions and ideas, and just plain have fun with my guys once a year. My old boss used to take the shop to the outer banks for a day of deep sea fishing and fun. I want to be able to do that. Benefits will be solid as well, and I will look into a 401K program. If I want the best service for my customers, I will need the best people to provide for them. I plan on making my shop a place where people want to come to work. I believe this will translate to a successful and profitable business model.

1 more day of work. Taking next week off to meet up with an attorney to establish my incorporation, finish tying up my loose ends for my business license, meeting with a couple accountants, getting my insurance set up, and intense property searching. Shits getting real now. My stomach is in knots.

LOL, my youngest son put down his guitar about a year ago. I told you guys how I turned him on to Floyd since we have been into cans... Well today I got home and he had his guitar out. He is learning Wish You Were Here. He is enamored with David Gilmore's playing style. Boy makes me proud!
