    Kangaroux's Remixes

That's one of my favorites. It hits right at like 40hz on that high note and it grabs you lol. I love demoing it. If you're feeling ballsy, give this a shot. Put on slowed down to 21hz. God does that flex everything LOL http://kiwi6.com/file/pwm293ivv6

    Kangaroux's Remixes

Thanks! Yeah some songs sound terrible slowed, others sound awesome. Personally, I'm not a huge fan of how much this la roux song sounds slowed, but I'm hesitant to rebass it. I don't like rebassing songs that have too much midbass in them because I have to cut that out in order to rebass it and have it not sound bad. As a result, any mid bass you get from the vocals, drums, etc. all get taken out, and it makes the vocals sound wicked hollow.

For the record that clipping goes away once your amp lowpasses it...that 0.3dB is just on the vocals I do rebass some stuff but I prefer just slowing it cause I prefer how it sounds slowed, that and rebassing is a wicked PITA since I do it by hand in audacity (including completely remaking the kicks). Yep, takes me like one hour per song or more if I add treble, lol sucks Lol tell me about it. It's not too bad though. If the song has a repeating beat I make the part for the beat and then just copy and paste it wherever else it's used.

    Kangaroux's Remixes

No problem. A song a lot of people seem to like is the remix of hood nigga. When the bass hits it's actually a sweep from like 37hz down to 33hz iirc. It sounds pretty cool. Keep in mind the original remixes I did have a loud bass line cause I never really paid too much attention to consistency and making sure all the songs had a moderate sounding bass line. With that being said, the songs shouldn't clip, just the vocals will be a bit quieter and the bass a bit louder. I may start uploading some of my mastered versions tonight

I've tried playing around with just certain frequencies but it never sounds that good. But I am curious as to what you do to slow down just a part of it and have it not sound like garbage.

The main peaks for that In For The Kill remix are 41hz, 33hz, and 55hz. I don't really keep track of what the freq's are of each song but if you guys really want to know I'll write them down when I post up a link.

    Kangaroux's 99 Pathfinder

Thanks, LOL. I'll be competing for my first time in september so we'll see how that goes. The class I'm in is very broad so the chances of me snagging a first place are kinda slim since the class rules allow for some pretty heavy hitters. Should be fun nonetheless. Might just screw around and burp it at 30, who knows, lol

    Kangaroux's 99 Pathfinder

Went to home depot to pick up some tubes of PL400 and when I got home I noticed it was nothing like the stuff I had been using before, so I hope I just got the wrong thing and that they didn't completely remake it. The stuff I picked up is way thinner and it just wants to drip everywhere which isn't going to work if i wanna put this stuff on my roof. Gonna head back tomorrow and swing by Lowes and see if they have it. I'll do a before and after vid so you guys can see the difference (I hope bracing it helps lol)

    Kangaroux's 99 Pathfinder

Lol thanks. I'm gonna get some PL400 tomorrow and get my roof fixed up, it's flexing way too much for my liking lol. lol yea, before something it fall apart. Sure sounds like something is falling apart with all that flex haha. If the wood doesn't work I'll just rip it out and invest in some AT 80 mil or something. That, or find someone local who can weld some support braces to it lol.

    Bandpass 4th

I wouldn't even bother with winisd. The second you put your enclosure in a vehicle that entire response changes. The only thing that winisd is useful for is seeing what variable effects what. With that being said, bandpasses can require a lot of tuning to get right, or sometimes you get lucky and they sound amazing on the first build. I suggest using an aero port or a sonotube or something that can easily be removed to adjust tuning. Sealed volume isn't too hard to get right, but be careful not to go too large on your ported side because it can be too peaky for your (or your brother's) liking. Stick with like a 2 - 2.5:1 ratio and play around with the tuning and you should be all set. So you would rather pick arbitrary numbers or ratios then at least see what the modeled response is out of car? That makes a lot of sense. The response changes so much when putting it in the vehicle that modeling it up isn't worth the time...I've modeled up stuff before that looked absolutely god awful on the graph but once it was in the vehicle it had a solid flat response. No I'm not saying pick arbitrary numbers but what I am saying is don't rely on the graph for what your setup is going to sound like...bandpasses are not easy to get right the first time which is why making them easy to tweak and tune is crucial if you're looking to get the most out of them

Just took several vids, gonna edit them and upload them. All I can say is holy shit does this move a lot of air...and I am SO glad I did a kerf port. I can play 20hz full tilt and not hear even the slightest bit of port noise.

Played around with it some today, and the more I listen to it the more I'm actually tempted to say this xcon is LOUDER than my hdc3. On the lows my door panel flexes a good 1/4" and everything is just straight up nasty. On higher stuff around 40hz it's getting to the point where on some songs it actually makes my ears hurt slightly. There is a jeep up here that I've sat in that does just about a 150 with the door open and that made my ears hurt as well..I'm not saying I'm doing a 150 but It's definitely up there in the mid-high 140's. My guess would be a ~147, maybe higher? I don't want to jinx myself, though, lol..

    Kangaroux's 99 Pathfinder

Like I said it's hard to tell cause it just blurs everything together plus the lighting is kinda bad but here you go lol. For the record, I've had 3 different setups with 18's and this one blows them all out of the water. Make sure to watch the vid in 720p..it helps a lot

    Kangaroux's 99 Pathfinder

Actually uploading ti at the moment..I'm gonna take another one tomorrow cause between the poor lighting and my camera it's hard to see any movement. However I can say for sure this sounds amazing...gets just about as loud as the hdc3 i had, but gets much lower and sounds just overall better (the hdc3 was in a higher tuned box and running at a lower impedance too which is kind of funny lol)

    Kangaroux's 99 Pathfinder

While I'm at it, what are some inexpensive ways to get my roof to stop flexing? lol I'm thinking some tubes of the PL400 (that stuff cures up extremely hard, almost as hard as the TItebond II I use) and then taking some pieces of wood and cutting some kerfs in them pretty spread apart (3-4" per kerf) so that way the board can sort of mold to the shape of my roof. PL them to the roof and put plenty of it, then get a 2x4 or something to pry it up and hold it in place while it dries overnight.
