I ordered recones for Konaki motors, if you can remember, I have the thread up in the General Fi section, anyway, I was wondering what type of spiders and coils you used in the recones construction. It looked to me like 3 spiders were used and the coils were copper flatwind. Also would like to find out what you guys would estimate the power handling (rms) of the sub would be with the soft parts you sent me. They are seeing probably 1200 watts each, which I am sure they can handle fine, I do not plan on upgrading my amp EVER, but I am wondering just out of curiosity what the rms of these things would be.

I think you need to send in the 3HP motor for machining or something.
-
As already stated by Supa, run the faded one inverted.

Got my recones, they came on saturday as Scott said, here is my suedo build thread...... http://www.caraudio.com/forum/showthread.php?t=284313

I just bought a brand new Konaki 12", I plan to recone it down to a 10" and run a pair daily off my kx2500.1, I would like to get a shipped quote to 26851 for a 10" DVC 2 ohm kit, I would also need a 10" basket and rubber gasket and FI dust cap, I know they are included but I would like to get one with the FI logo on it. I plan to run 1200 watts to each Konaki 10" once I get them reconed, I dont know what coils or kit Scott or FI would use but I need/want something that will take 1200 watts rms, and be good for a daily type install. I tried pm'ing Scott but his box is full, pm sent to NDmustang

Vic, do the wall, I dont think you will like sealed for long. Your next thread will read, "Ok, I tried the 2 18's sealed, now I am going to wall them and go ported" Just wall them up the first time and save yourself some trouble
-
Oh, I thought it went UPS, oh well Friday or Saturday is great, I will be home to get them off the step.
-
Hey Nick/Scott, could I get the tracking # for the recones?
-
Thanks Nick for the update
-
Hey guys , could someone let me know if my recone kits have shipped, or, if not, when could I expect them?
-
Sell the other 2 to me for $50 shipped , I am broke until next payday and wont be able to get in on the sale!

Found my insurance stub in the garage so maybe I will be able to get refunded for my motor after all . I am assuming my recone kits will show up sometime after the new year. I have a second Konaki on the way , its supposed to be delivered on the 3rd, so I am just waiting on the recone kits so I can begin reconing these 2 motors into 10's. Scott,I sent you an email about the claim, I went down to the PO and they said I didnt have any insurance on the package, well, I have the stub that says otherwise, the lady also said you would have to file the claim for me as you already stated you would. Please update me on the situation when you find out whats up. Thanks

But, that 15 was making my vision blur just before it popped, it scared the hell out of me lol , but its down and out now, I was enjoying it up until this, but you said it was going to happen , sorry for going OT in your thread.
-
Hey Jacob, did Justin reglue the Konaki's or run them as is, I just popped the spiders off the landing on my Konaki 15" off 2500 watts .
-
Well..... how much do M5 recones go for?

Hey Scott/Nick, any update on my kits or the claim filed with USPS? I stopped by the post office that I shipped the motor from, they say they need the box or at least, the info from off the box to file a claim, so I guess its up to you guys to file the claim for me. I lost my little copy from the insurance I purchased and the woman tried to tell me I didnt have any insurance on the motor, I assured her that I did indeed buy insurance for it and that, if they put the sticky end from the receipt on the box, then they can get the insurance info from there. Scott, could you let me know the status of the claim when you get a chance, also, if my recone kits have shipped yet or if not, when I can expect them to ship? I located a second Konaki motor from a friend, so I should still be able to go ahead with my dual 10" Fi/Konaki franken woofer install as soon as I get the kits and the second motor. Thanks guys

Misread it, thought it was the Revolution audio amp I saw on another forum, sorry for crapping up your thread.
-
Well, Fi is great, thats all I can say, Scott, is taking GOOD care of me so now I am happy! Thank you Scott, you will ALWAYS have a loyal Fi customer here!

You know what, scratch all that, could I just send in more monies and buy another BL 10"? I am going to order.
-
Sadly, I never had my single BL 10" metered, but it was damn loud I know that! I fed it 1200 to 1500 watts from a Kicker kx2500.1 , I would say 2500 is a little much for a stock one though, mine was completly stock and took 1500 watts easy. With my current situation, I am really sad I traded it away

Or, do you guys now have recones available since you have already reconed Evilbeaver's Konaki motor? Could I use the money order payment I sent in to go towards 2 10" recone kits for the Konaki motor? If so, could you guys let me know how much extra funds I will need to send in to offset the $$ difference?
-
Hey Scott, did my money order show up? Could we work something out, like, I send you in a bit more money to go towards a BL?
-
Thanks for the insight. Could you elaborate a little on the cooling short comings for a daily application? Specifically what would be the power limit. I'm running a DD M1 about 1200w @ 1ohm. Is that too much for one? I just want to out do my 10 year old JL 15w6's (2) without breaking the bank. Augh! One last Q. What would be the box requirements. Thanks. Sorry about the thread hijack. A thousand apologies to the thread author all the moderator gods. This forum is the best. Viva Fi Audio and the AA H2 Hummer. That beast rocks! Thanks I have jacked before so all is cool

Well, I learned a lesson, I will NEVER ship a heavy motor in a flat rate box again, I should have just sent in the entire sub in its original box. I am kind of really unhappy about this . Thanks Scott for the update, I am glad I got insurance on the motor, I should be able to almost buy another Konaki or at least a motor.

Did it show up yet guys?
