Those xcon's are nice, on only a 1200d, I can't imagine what it would be like with more power
-
Your not skimping, that "500watts" likely won't be audible, and even so, its just a rating, doesn't mean it needs 2000watts to get loud. And as above suggested, DC Power makes some killer alternators ^This, my 18 btl is run off 1500w, everybody who has ever sat in my yukon says it is the loudest system they have ever heard (even sub owners with 4kwatts + lol). Make sure you follow Fi Audio specs on the enclosure and tuning. Stefan is right on point , adding a second battery is needed, do the "Big 3" upgrade under the hood, run some 0 gauge ground wire, and later on if needed, upgrade your Alternator. Defiantly get the "cooling" option, Daily option, Universal option if you ever plan on re-coning the sub to change its' impedance, and the HiXmCoil

Your box looks nice so far, are you going to leave it how it is, carpet-paint or vinyl it?

BTL 15 3-5 cu. feet, BL 15 2.8-4 cu. feet. The BLs take 1000w rms, so re-reading his amp specs, the BL with 1200w be perfect.

Fi BTL in a ported 4 cubic foot enclosure with the port facing the rear, tune around 32 or 33hz for daily. You won't regret it. (give it 1500watts or more) Just like the others said, make sure your electrical is up to par, bad electrical = low voltage = clipping, which in the end can/will blow your sub and amplifier. Start off with doing the Big 3 upgrade, also, add a second battery. What gauge ground wire do you plan on running?

Don't smoke in your truck! Your woofers will get second hand smoke

Alternator Suggestions for AQ2200D
reelfish92 replied to burko's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
If you are still in the market for an alternator, OHIO Generator makes 275 amp alts. for GMs, I have one in my 02 Yukon Denali XL (6.0L). Super happy with it. -
Thanks bro, ya i love blowthroughs myself. The whole truck paint, graphics, system and lift was done by me and my two brothers Ya'll have some real skill, the Red lines set it off! Final product of the blow through looks really nice

Site looks great, I was suprised when I went on to look at a Sundown 4-channel.

Those trucks are nice, v8 350 ftw

^This, then you don't have to waste time and materials to test out box tunings. but definitely tune to 35 hz or higher for SPL. I run my 18" BTL N2 @ 32 hz, sounds great. I am kind of leaning towards tuning it really low but my main concern is hurting the subs. I dont want to tune it to low for the subs. Do you think i will hurt them playing as low as 23,24Hz? My 32hz, plays really low, I would say it plays moer lows than the highs, hope that helps.

AQ2200D Irun an Audiopipe ap30001d @ 1 ohm (Turned up 2/3 @ 2000 watts) . The 18" BTL N2 slams, My buddy has 2 15" L7s with a custom built box. funny thing is, my box and his were built by the same shop! He has 4000watts and 2 15s. My 18" that is tuned at 32 hz. kills his! How do you figure you have 2k watts with gains turned 2/3rds up? Gains turned all the way up doesn't mean that's the only way to get full power out the amp. Where did i say gains? I thought it over Sunday, I think I am only pushing 1400-1500w, I preordered aCrescendo bc3500d,so I will have an amp capable of a 1 ohm load, since this one is a 2 channel.

x2 for first and second lines. And Crescendo told me that the pre-order has been extended until Monday the 25th. -
I can't say anything bad about Fi, I have an 18" Fi BTL N2 fully loaded in my yukon, loudest single sub I have ever heard, lots of complements and "thats the loudest system I have ever heard", and I get the thumbs up a bunch =]. The craftsmanship of these beasts is amazing. Fi Audio's customer service is great too. "NDMstang65" on here works for Fi Audio, so he can help you and point you in the right direction of what subwoofer is good for you.
