hmm, so since i "dont have a clue what im doing" i should probably just sell all my stuff. there is alot to know about car audio. QUITE BEING A A*S**LE. im trying to learn. all i asked was for some opinions on what i should do. i didnt ask for people to tell me i dont know what im doing. if i didnt know what i was doing, i wouldnt try to add more batteries and bigger wires, id just let it blow my alt.please do not come back to my thread. it would be appreciated.

ok, so like most people with systems, my lights dim ALOT, and my rpm's drop. my system is drawing around 150amps fropm my stock 95amp alt. i have a 1995 ext. cab ford ranger. i am installing a 2nd battery (deep cycle) and doing the "big 3" but i doubt itll be enough. here is a list of my system to give u an idea of the problem..... 2 12" mtx 9500's 1 kicker zx1500.1 1 kicker zx350.4 2 mtx 6x9's o & HID headlight kit (idk if it draws more power than stock so ill just add it in case). i want either dual stock alt. or 1 big one. the problem with buying 1 new big one, is that im afraid if i buy off ebay, or any other site for a fact, that the alternator itself doesnt put out what the manufacture says it will. if u or someone u know has a aftermarket alternator and does what its made to do (put out more power than stock and last long periods without replacing) please let me know ASAP! what would u do in my situation? i dont have the money for a HO alt. i only have the money for maybe another battery but thats all. i have a "65 mustang and summer is coming up and i have alot of mantinance to do to get it ready. it needs brakes and new upper and lower ball joints. not that that has anything to do with systems but i wanted to fill u in on my situation. save up and get some sealed agm batteries, xspower batts are great but pricey, may wanna also check out some deka 9a31s (I think that model number is right) Yupp the deka 9a31 is in the intimidator line made by deka. Ive heard nothing but good reviews about these deka's, you should definitely check them out! alright ill do that! Thanks bro

i am not sure. i was snooping around yesterday, and there is a 8 gauge wire feeding my battery so im guessing doing the big 3 would help by increasing the current flow

lol i was bumpin in my schools parkinglot befor school and the hillbilly in the next isle over (about 40 ft away) said i was rattlein his mirrors. it wasnt much rattle but hey from 50 Ft away with 2 12's i think thats pretty good lol.

Hello SSA, i recently picked up 2 12" mtx 9500's in a custom HUGE ported enclosure. i have a ext. cab ford ranger and the box is about 6"'s from my roof. the length of the box is fine, but its WAYYYY to deep. i was wondering on what i should do. i had 1 12" mtx 9500 in the sledgehammer ported box and it sounded AMAZING in my truck. i know alot of people say the sledgehammer boxes are hsit, but for osme reason it sounds really good in my truck. i cant find the sledgehammer boxes anywhere, so i decided to just build my own. iv never built a box befor. i have all of the tools to do it and all the materials in my garage ready to be cut. i have a good amount of knowledge when it comes to box building. i have helped on myany projects, but never on my own. so what do u all think? do i keep looking for the sledgehammer box? or do i build my own???? naa im good. i mean iv been in car audio for about 2 years now. im just wondering if i put my extra batteries in my bed, if it will still perform as well as it does now. my box i built is so wide, that i had to take out on of my side flipdown seats. i had a little extra room so i put the battery in there. every once in awhile, itl kinda move. not like flip over but move from side to side maybe 2 inches at the most. and thats if i take a hard turn.

i have aq box built for 1 18" Fi btl. i can measure it, draw it up on paper CLEARLY, take a pic. and send it to u if u want. its 7.3 CF ported and tuned to 35Hz

hello, i was on caraudio.com trying to sell my 15" RE xxx. i posted up a thread on it but i couldnt get pic's on for some reason. so i just posted it up anyways with my cell # so i could send people pics through text. about 10 mins. after i posted, one of there admin. arsehos started yelling at me saying that if i dont post pics' my thread was to be deleted. i told him it wouldnt let me upload the pics. so later that night i get back on and my threads gone. any thoughts on this????? i guess??? i mean they work and nothing "leaking" so were good to go. when u say "leak" what do u mean exactally? like battery acid or what? o and one more thing, what if i put the batteries in the bed of my truck??? would it be to far from battery uip front to the battery in the bed, and back to my amp?

You did refer to volts as amps, there not the same lol. These walmart batteries, got a link to the specs? Sealed agm batteries are fine inside the cabin, but i have a feeling these cheap batteries aren't sealed, therefore they leak gas... ya idk about all that. when i picked up the 9500's, the guy had 4 of the walmart batteries in his trunk and said it was all good. fortunatly, he gave me one lol. the batteries are just the regular boat batteries from walmart. im sure u can find them on walmarts website or even at walmart if ur ever there

well, i got the battery installed and WOW. it made a HUGE difference. befor, i could only turn it up 1/4 the way up and my volt meter on the dash would go crazy. now, i can turn it up 1/2 to 3/4 befor the volt meter even budges. the walmart boat batteries are the way to go. dont spend 150 on 1 optima. u can buy 2 of the walmart batteries for the price of one of those. THEY REALLY WORK. i can play about 1 and a half song befor i have to turn it down and let it charge. give it 3 mins to charge and its good to go lol. i have a kicker zx1500.1 (150amp fuse) with 2 12" mtx 9500's and id say i can draw about a TRUE 1200 watts befor lights dim or anything and thats on a stock 95amp alt.

ya. idk i built my first box to there exact specs. and it was tuned WAY to high. so i extended the port 10 inches to make it tuned to about 35 hz and it sounds 10x's better. why doesnt mtx just tell people to make the port a total of 25inches instead of 15????? it doesnt take up any more room on the outside and it sounds better.

i dont have the gti. i just seen it and never heard of it befor so i though id make a thread about it. il looks pretty aggressive

well both boxes are done and installed and WOW! it brings tears to ur eyes, blurs my vision ALOT while driving and rattles everything. ill have images up later on today. now comes the next project... the big 3 and my 2nd battery

i would say 1 15" mtx 9500 in a good box and either a mtx 1501d amp or something along that and u should be happy. i had 1 12" mtx 9500 in the sledgehammer box in my ranger and it beat. i like the 9500's so much, i now have two of the 9500 12's in custom ported boxes, and on my kicker zx 1500.1. it brings tears to ur eyes and blurs my vision ALOT when driving. i have a total of 800 in subs and amp and its LOUDDDDD. but thats just my 2 cents worth. hope u find something o almost forgot. i have 1 15" RE audio xxx 2005 modle sub for sale. asking 325. look it up if u dont know what it is.... u will be surprised...

alright. i glued and cyliconed the sides, the bottom, the back, and the port yesterday. today i have to put the top and front on and its all done lol. o and build another brace for the magnet. ill take pictures befor i glue the rest together so u all can see the guts lol.
