i can see y'd u say that but im not really into having a "matching" set-up. just what would sound best. iv had kicker l7's but i want to try something different. i figured i just throw it up ther to see how many people would think it would be my best bet.

mtx 9500! lol id probably go with the fi btl. i had the 18" version of the btl and WOW it flexxed my dash on 1500 watts. plus the jl is WAYYYYYYYY over priced. kinda like the solo x.

can i pick up either of those for around 350? You could definitly get a BL for that price range, the Nightshade is out though, its 500 bucks But between a SA-15 and a FI BL 15 I would still go with the BL on 1500 watts hmm ok thanks

hello SSA goers...... today, i am wondering, what 2 10's, 212's, or 1 15 would be louder than 1 12" mtx 9500 but still in my price ranger? iv always owned kicker, mtx, rockford, but i want to try some of this "incriminator" audio or sundown or skar. i like trying new things but i figured id ask someone with experence. im having money issues and need a little cash so im selling both my 9500's ( 475 plus shipping) to get something a little smaller. if i get 2 10's or 2 12's of something, ill spend about 200 on each sub max. or if i go with 1 15, ill spend around 350-375. i have a '95 ford ranger ext. cab running a kicker zx1500.1 w/ 4 gauge wireing. i dont reallt have a box limit size. it can be however tall, up to 44 inches wide, and only 17 deep. Thanks for reading!

what about if i want just 1 sub. i have electrical problem and id like to keep the total rms under 1200. i was thinking about 1 15" RE audio sx. it is brand new on ebay with a year warrenty with a box and wires for 300. any thoughts?? I've never used RE, so I don't have any input on the driver. However, I wouldn't buy a driver with a box as it's likely prefab or poorly constructed. Got pictures / specs of the box? Not sure what your budget is, but just because you have two drivers rated at 600watts each doesn't mean you need an amp that makes 1200watts, hell you could feed each driver 300watts and it'd still be loud. If your electrical is a concern you could use more cone area to compensate for less power. crude example: 2 12s 400watts each or 1 12 1500watts. Is adding a battery in the rear a possibility? i already do. i have one of those giant boat deep cycle batterys lol. it help for about 1 full song but when it starts getting low, it kill smy alt. just as much as it did befor i had it. i have 2 12" mtx 9500s (1000rms/2000peak a piece) and it kills my electrical. here is a link to the ebay page.... http://cgi.ebay.com/RE-AUDIO-SXX15D2-15-SUBWOOFER-VENTED-SPL-ENCLOSURE-BOX-/300530533657?pt=Car_Subwoofers_Enclosures&hash=item45f9040519 (copy and paste if it dont work) its 319 to be exact. iv always had good luck with prefab boxes. and there only charging me a extra 50 for it so y not? if it does blow apart, i can build my own. i already have the wood, glue, screws ready to go but im not exactally the best at building. the boxes for my 9500's turned out great but they were alot smaller than what this needs. i plan on keeping this subs for years and i want the box to be in good shape and look good.

what about if i want just 1 sub. i have electrical problem and id like to keep the total rms under 1200. i was thinking about 1 15" RE audio sx. it is brand new on ebay with a year warrenty with a box( 3 cf ported and tuned) and wires for 300. any thoughts??

id say im more for loudness that sq. dont get me wrong, i dont want a sub (kicker) thats loud but has little to no SQ. i have ported right now but i can do sealed. i have a kicker zx1500.1 with 4 gauge wireing, and a second deep cycle battery.

i got one guy telling me to go with skar, and one to stay away. what about sundown audio, or incrimator audio? im serieously thinking about 1 15 again.
-
if i may, im sugjesting the mtx 9500 series subs. i have 2 12's and they POUND. i have about 800 out of the thousand they need and they still sound amazing. just my 2 cents worth!

is it possible to build boxes using other wood besides mdf and still sound good? i mean i see its possible but i thought u can only use mdf -
i think u should be good.i have a zx1500.1 on 2 12" mtx 9500's in my '95 ranger and alls i did was add a extra boat battery and its fine now. i think a zx1000 would be a max for a stock electrical syste,. meaning it should be fine but i wouldnt recommend adding anything else that draws power

What Amp?
SMpaintball78 replied to ViperC's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
well if they are ur first set-up then yes they are good. and as for an amp, id say a kicker zx 750.1 which goes for 150 used, or a hifonics 1600 or 2000 class d. they are around 200-225 new i believe. when it comes to amps, im all kicker. they under rat there a,ps which is a good thing because like most audio amps they over rate them. which means they say its a 1000 watt amp but actually it only does 650. i have a kicker zx1500.1 and it puts out 1650 watts. hope it helps u out bro -
Firs off, IF YOUR GOING TO JUST TELL ME IDK WHAT IM DOING, THEN JUST LEAVE. I DO NOT WANT TO HEAR IT. IM LEARNING. (and you know who you are) ok. so as most of u have seen in my other thread, i have just added a seconed battery. only problem is that after playing for 3 or 4 mins, my volt meter and stuff goes back to the way it was befor. goes crazy when bass hits. So im going to do the big 3. i got to looking at my alternator yesterday and my wire going from my alternator goes to my fuse box. not to my battery. so what do i do? should i still updrade it, or just leave it and do the rest? any HELP is appreciated guys. Thanks

Big 3?
SMpaintball78 replied to SMpaintball78's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
If you have an extra fuse/fuse holder sitting around I would recommend using it OR if you decide on upgrading the alt. But in other cases no its not mandatory. i have a fues holder but it only has a 60A fuse and there is no way thats big enough.can i out a bigger fuse in it? You are most likely going to need a bigger fuse holer. so your just doing your grounds and leaving the alt.??? No, he is doing all three BUT just not running a fuse line within the alt and positive battery post. so he is running a new alt. to bettery just not with a inline fuse? sorry im kinda confused -

so just completly by-pass the stock wire from the slt. to the fuse box? hmm sounds easy enough. then all thats left is the new battery dround, and engine block ground correct? -

SMpaintball78 replied to oestjo's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
i have 1 kicker zx1500.1 on 2 12" MTX 9500's (1000rms/2000peaka piece) and it does just fine. i dont have the amp up all the way and it still pushes both subs just fine. i recommend the kicker my friend -
Big 3?
SMpaintball78 replied to SMpaintball78's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
the bass boster is about 1/4 the way up, gain is about 3/4 the way up, and the frequency thing is also about 1/4 the way up 3/4 is alot of gain. I wouldnt have the bass boost on never makes it louder just damages things over time! hmm anyone have any other thoughts on the "big 3"? -
