This is a BP box for Chris, aka Stetch on the forums, and his eight 12" Definitive Audio Designs BD woofers. All of this will be going in his 2000 Explorer Sport(tight fit, eh?). Each sealed chamber is 5.75ft^3, with a 20ft^3 common ported chamber tuned to 42hz. Bracing was not drawn in, but displacements were accounted for. The goal here was a loud groundpounder with the ability to play the 25-50hz range efficiently. Volume: dual 5.75ft^3 firing into 20ft^3 Tuning: 42hz Dimensions: 43"wide x 36" tall x 52" deep

This design is for Mr. Landon Bridges and his DD 9512 woofer. He had limited space to work with in his new Camaro, but wanted a good "daily" box as well as a good "burp" box that he could use for competition. Solution? Make a box with swappable slot ports, of course! Volume: 2.25ft^3 for daily, 2.4ft^3 for spl Tuning: 32hz and 45hz Dimensions: 30" wide x 13" tall x 28" deep

If you keep the crossover at 200-250hz, or lower, I'm sure it will be fine. I'm not sure how high those e8's can play, but you don't want a dedicated midbass playing much higher than that anyways.

Would you buy this amp for?
RAM_Designs replied to Angelboy863's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Junk. I wouldn't pay $20 for it. Not to mention it will have zero resale value. -
This is a box for a single Sundown Audio SA-8 woofer. Since the chamber is so small, the port needs to be considerably longer than normal to maintain a low tuning while still providing adequate port area. As you can see, some dead space had to be used to drop the volume a little. Volume: .55ft^3 Tuning: 33hz Dimensions: 30" wide x 10" tall x 11" deep

4 SA-10 Box Design & yet another tuning question :o
RAM_Designs replied to Jd377's topic in SPL & SQ / Fabrication
17" is the total length of an assembled Precision Port. -
Thanks. It's on the small side, but should still turn out good.

Yet another design for Mr. Jonatan Cortes. This box will be going in the back of his Toyota 4Runner. Six(yes six) 18" DC Level 4's will be used in this setup...inverted. The box is double layered all around, and 2x4 bracing will be used on the outside of the box as well. Volume: 7.25ft^3 per sealed chamber, 21.25ft^3 ported chamber Tuning: 46hz Dimensions: odd

In a 4Runner walled off right behind the front seats?...nah.

There will be two more big bandpass builds for Mr. Cortes in the near future.

agm charger?
RAM_Designs replied to steveo50's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Chargers with computer controlled charging is the best way to go. You can set it on a higher amperage charge, and it'll give it a quicker initial charge, then stop. Once the voltage drops down to a predetermined point, it will then begin to use a lower amperage charge to slow charge the batt so that it will hold voltage better. I have Vector 2/6/10 and 2/10/20 chargers, and they work great. I also have a big Schumacher 2/20/50/150 that is automated as well. I haven't had any issues with any of them, and if it makes you feel better, the Vector chargers are what Kinetik put their name on back when they sold their own chargers(not sure if they still do). -
I imagine ported will really bring to life the <50hz material. I can't imagine how soon these little subs will start to roll off in a sealed box.

This is a truck box for Justin Ellis. The box will be housing four JL Audio 6" W0 subs, first time working with these. Volume: 1.3ft^3 Tuning: 34hz Dimensions: 38" wide x 23" tall x 7" bottom and 4" top depth
-
Has anyone else ever played with these?
-
New or old XXX's? I'm assuming new with that kind of power, because that'd be way too much for the old xbl^2 ones.

SAZ-1500D keeps going into protect mode. help!
RAM_Designs replied to nevertoomuchbass's topic in Sundown Audio
If it's going into protect, something is up. I ran mine(on accident) down into the 9's before it starting cutting output. Looked under the hood and my main power wire was detached, and I had been running it on my extra Batcap 2000 for who knows how long...checked the voltage and it was at ~9.5V! Anyway, the 1500's are tanks, so it's probably some simple little fix that needs to be done. -
Do not use 1/2" at all, especially on a beastly sub like the BTL.
-
On the meter, they usually help a little since the air flow at the opening of the port is smoother. To the ear, it's really not going to be very noticeable unless you originally had a port that was restrictive, and then went with a kerfed design that greatly improved the flow.

This box is for a fellow Dodge truck owner. This enclosure will be housing a pair of T3 Audio TSS 15" woofers, utilizing a kerfed port opening. The subs will be firing forward behind the driver seat, with the port firing up on the passenger side. Volume: 8.5ft^3 Tuning: 33hz Dimensions: 64" wide x 20" tall x 20" deep
-
Indeed, especially when painted for a smooth and shiny finish.

Thanks Stephan.

This design will by built by Dustin Legrady at DL Designz. It will be housing four Sundown Audio SA-8, utilizing an interchangeable slot port setup for different tunings.

Your link isn't working.

This will be going in the trunk of a '98 Civic for a pair of RE Audio SEX 12's. Volume: 2ft^3 per chamber Tuning: 32hz Dimensions: awkward
