Massive Audio Nano
TheWhiteDemon posted a topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
I'm looking at maybe picking up the N4 which is Massive's new Nano line. Was wondering if anyone has experience with the Nano line. I've had older lines of Massive amps and I think they are fine, but never tried the Nanos. Wondering how hot they get. -
I wish I would have known people were running Death Rows in sealed enclosures with good outcomes earlier. I would have bought a couple Death Rows instead.

Many years ago I used to post of ROE. When SSA came around they started to get pretty popular and finally took over ROE (I think) so I created an account. Then I was out of car audio for awhile and forgot my account so I created a new one.

Man that thing looks like a monster. The Magnet slicing looks like the most innovative way to help out with voice coil cooling I've ever seen.

Very nice shots. What kind of camera were you using?
-
Very impressive.

I actually wasn't aware that the NRT motors were used in lots of other woofers. Do you know what model the TCs are?
-
I'm not really sure what kind of power you've got or what your budget is, but if I remember correctly the 12" IDMAX's are recommended to be ported @ 28 hz and 1.75 is perfect. I owned an IDMAX a few years back and they are VERY good subs. Just an idea.

Never had a bandpass myself, but I have read that the sound quality out of them can be amazing.
-
Sealed 1.7 cubic feet each, which will be a net of about 1.5 after the subs are installed. I'll do a thorough initial and follow-up review on lots of types of music.

I ordered my 2 15" MKIIs yesterday to replace my 2 15" Lethal Injections. They'll be here Wednesday. So excited, the specs on these seem like some of the most well designed subs I've ever seen. The response curve on these in a sealed box is almost completely flat from 20 hz up to 100 hz. I'll post an initial review shortly after I put them in my box.

Man, those are some good prices. Too bad there aren't any more NRT subs.
-
You might be right, but I will never put a ported setup in any of my rides. Why do you make that statement? I have never heard a ported application that I liked (including ones I've built for my friends, and one's I've paid lots of money for on a custom build). Ported applications just don't match sealed applications for range and sound quality in my opinion.

Did you try a larger sealed box first?? That would lower the tuning. Yeah, I just don't have the room.

Well it's been a couple weeks now and I would say the subs are likely broken in at this point. As I expected, the low end has gotten slightly better with more play. I really love these subs on so many different kinds of music, but overall I guess I listen to too much rap with sub 25 hz basslines and I have decided to upgrade to the JBL GTI MK IIs. The LIs are now on ebay.
