We still have them in stock after filling pre-orders. I also have more 12s and more 8s coming in 3 weeks or so.

Had alot of requests for pricing so here it is. Standard (you can pick 2 or 3 spiders): 10" - $415 / MSRP - $535 12" - $425 / MSRP - $550 15" - $440 / MSRP - $570 18" - $480 / MSRP - $620 OPTIONS: Double tinsel leads* - Add $10 Nightshade Cone** - Add $10 Nightshade Spiders (you can pick 2 or 3)*** - Add $20 Additional spiders (more than 3)**** - Add $5 each * - If you will be running an amp at 0.5 ohm or more than 2000 watts or so I suggest this. Generally speaking you will not need it if you are not an SPL competitor putting large amounts of burp power to the driver - but it is there if you want it. If you don't need them I suggest not getting them as they can chatter a bit at low volumes since they are two separate leads - probably won't hear this at all in a box listening to music, though. They are primarily designed for SPL competitors that need the extra current capacity! ** - The 18" uses the Nightshade cone, this is standard. This option is available on 10s, 12s, and 15s. Only SPL competitors will need the Nightshade cone - and even then only for VERY high power. *** - The Nightshade spider is totally different. If you do not know why you would want them then you don't need them. **** - I do not suggest using more than three. But if you must have them they are available.

I'm trying to talk Alex into trailering the car up to my shop (just called him about getting some videos). I really want to check it out and experience it in person. The results from the Nightshade v.2 15" are pretty mind boggling as well I am definitely impressed... big time.

Been slammed with pre-orders -- next week will be about the same. Then I should be caught up and have time to mess with it.

Decided to finally get started on it. The Jeep will be getting a no-wall 4th order build with two 15s. * Battery / Amp Rack area cleaned out... everything un-installed. My multi-channels will sit on those two little platforms where the batteries used to be. * New floor piece cut - everything will attach to this piece. * Of course XS Power D1600s will be used --- That is all for now... just ripped it all out this morning and Brandon helped me cut out the floor piece. Will make progress when time allows.

Nice There is a Sundown road about 2 miles from my house... I have considered taking the sign countless times *laughs*

Battery terminals are being made then testing will start

In any case we should have a vid of his run at the comp after the weekend's over Sundown FTW!!!!

So... SA-8 a little too big / powerful / deep for you ? I'm working on the E8 v.2 model as well for those of you who fit that description. THERE IS NO ETA OR PRICE YET - MY PROTOTYPE JUST GOT HERE TODAY! Works a bit better sealed as well -- very close to the E8 v.1 in sealed performance. Sticking to the 200 RMS rating of the E8 v.1 but this model is alot more robust -- I did alot of thinking over the last year or so about how to make an affordable 8" driver that can take more abuse than the E8 v.1 could... and this is what I came up with. It will be cheaper than the SA-8 but, obviously, more expensive than the E8 v.1 model. Magnet is 6mm narrower than the SA-8 and only a single stack... I cranked it up pretty high on our test bench 1500 @ 1 ohm and I was pleased. It doesn't have the advanced coil cooling of the SA-8 but doesn't need it as it's a 200 RMS rated driver. On to the pictures and specs : * Yes the top plate is slightly taller than the SA-8 -- stamped frame to reduce costs (it has a glossy black finish). * Rubber surround - the surround is the limiting factor excursion wise in this driver so I used rubber to prevent tearing. The E8 v.1 foam surround allowed more travel than the driver could safely handle - so I put a "brake" on this driver so to speak. * Bumped back plate allows 25mm of throw before bottoming out -- but the surround will stop the driver before that. * Exact same spider as the SA-8 but only a SINGLE layer instead of two like the SA-8 SPECIFICATIONS: RE: 3.927 ohms Fs: 43.59 Hz Qes: 0.643 Qms: 4.404 Qts: 0.555 Le: 2.75 mH Vas: 7.22 L BL: 13.023 NA Cms: 131 uM/N Mms: 101 grams Sens: 81.53 1w/1m Xmax: 10.5mm one-way linear Power: 200 RMS ----- I am really excited about it... the design came out EXACTLY like I envisioned it... I really cannot give any ETA at all but I had to share since I was so pleased with it.

Big props to Team Sundown Russia - coming out with more loud systems every week it seems like
-
Derrick can make custom ones to order any color you want.

The input circuits are different - I'd have to look into it farther for a more detailed explanation. You are asking for trouble putting DC into the amp like that, though, even if it plays fine... definitely get that taken care of.
-
With 6v DC going into the RCAs it's NOT going to be happy. LOCs typically contain capacitors in series which should stop the DC (otherwise known as a passive HPF filter).

The 12-spoke was a better choice for the 8.

Sold the last of the SAE-1200Ds today and this line is now discontinued. The SAE-1200D v.2 made big strides in reliability vs. the v.1 model but still does not quite live up to the standard set by the SAZ/SAX series amps in my mind. It was a tough decision as we really wanted to offer a lower cost line but at this time it is not fitting into my plan for Sundown Audio. I've spent alot of time thinking about it and had not made my final decision until today -- I had made plans to introduce matching multi-channels but these plans are now halted. I think the change will be for the better as we can concentrate on our core lines, the SAX and SAZ amps. The SAX-1200D is only slightly more expensive than the SAE-1200D v.2 for customers shopping in that range and we are also working on lower cost SAX line multi-channel amps built alongside their bigger brothers in Korea. Obviously service / warranty support will continue for the SAE amps sold already. Thanks for your support.

As far as I currently know -- if I get any word otherwise I'll post up.
-
Some of them are 12s -- but yes, they are double boxed with custom tooled protective foam inside.
-
* Most of the shipment hanging out in our shop area pending testing. * Those damn stickers... * Tested and shipping so far today.
-
My emails are backing up again right now due to all the recent product shipments and pre-orders -- they will continue to be behind into early next week. Advanced notice if you are waiting on a reply.
-
That is the thing - 10s, 12s, D2s, D4s are all mixed together... hence why we aren't going to sort through and try to do it all in order -- would take twice as long. We test them like this : Every one of them.
-
Shipment is here. We'll start shipping some of the orders today after lunch... not necessarily in the order they were received as customs mixed up our pallets like crazy... so we are going to go one pallet at a time, test the subs, and ship to whomever comes first ordering that particular size / coil configuration.
-
It's a shorting ring - you want it for an SQ woofer as it will decrease inductive distortion.
-
The ETA for the v.2 was about 2 months ago - they are late... hope to have them soon.
-
I won't have parts until the E8 v.2 comes out - those parts are compatible.
