Yep... you read that correctly. Big bad boy 200x4 Class A/B amps with full SAX-100.4D style crossovers. Stable to 1 ohm mono / 2 ohms bridged... can power a whole system. These things are MASSIVE... I know the trend is for small amps but I like big amps, and so do alot of people still These are not made for typical daily installs... they are made for BIG builds! * It is actually larger than an SAZ-3500D. * Another shot vs. SAZ-3500D ----- Before anyone asks... there is no ETA, I don't know when I'm going to open a pre-order, and pricing is not 100% set. I do expect pricing to be about like the SAZ-2000D, though... give or take.

This may be off topic, but could an SA-15 still hit decent lows in a box 2.8^3 tuned at 36Hz? I see you recomend tuning at 35Hz was just curious how low it got tuned that high. Alot of people claim that the AQ subs can still get low at that tuning but I have yet to hear it personally, they always sound kinda hollow. That box would work fine for an SA-15. Honestly... the AQ / DD design philosophy isn't targeted at super low bass. Extension to 40 Hz should be no issue but expect output to diminish under -- not to say they won't reproduce low bass but a softer driver will do it better.

SAX-1200D power connections

Correct ! -
I have an AQ SDC here at the shop and it looks like a well built sub -- but the suspension is ULTRA stiff and results in a high FS. In fact... it was similar to our Z v.2 even after some initial break-in. Makes it a good driver to have "higher bass" output -- verified by testing -- but on the really low notes it trailed off. Design philosophy is alot like the HDC3 -- which is almost 2.5x stiffer than an NS v.2 with similar break in times.

These are on pre-order now ! http://www.caraudioclassifieds.org/forum/showthread.php?t=52681 SAX-200.4 (NEW ITEM) Regular - $775 Pre-Order - $575 Early Pre-Order by Sept 30th - $525

SSA has updated their store.

Thanks Todd We will be working hard to expand our "lower" lines with high quality products for our local dealer base.

The original SAZ-1500D v.1 is still in stock for now -- but is not going on sale. Anyone that needs to get more of the v.1 models to match what they currently have has this time to do so -- once these are gone we will only stock the v.2 version.

I haven't started testing tweeters yet.

ETA is not available just yet... but we have been tinkering with them for a while.
-
Testing coming later... change a tad from the initial layout. We ended up with 8x IRFP360LC output FETs -- 66% of what the SAZ-3000D / 2500D have. This output section is WAY stronger than the 1500D v.1 what features IRF640 / 9640 units. Power supply features the same number of FETs as the original 1500D but a new more powerful part like the SAZ-2500D has. Power supply transformers and output inductors not changed from the v.1 1500D -- overall size down about 1.6" * Old 1500D on top and new 1500D v.2 on bottom * Internal fuses removed for SPL competition purposes - customers will need an external ANL unit * New driver board * Old driver board

I'm not expecting as much difference at really low loads or really high voltages -- we are working on the most improvements at 1 ohm on a 12v system for the majority of customers. Should still be a gain but not quite the ~13% we saw here. Plus the smaller size is a plus
-
Got a bit of 1 ohm testing done -- when we modified it I think something happened to it so we won't have any 0.5 testing yet until I get another sample in. Old 1500D produced 1540 watts after rise -- new 1500D produced 1750 watts after rise. Simply a max measurement. The results are just what I was looking for so far -- more power for the regular customer who runs at 1 ohm

Smaller would be better with the type of motor force we are looking at here.

Hey guys, Got backed up a bit on emails again around the beginning of August... some emails from earlier in the month and scattered throughout up until now have not been read yet. I will get to them ASAP -- sorry for the delay! We've had alot of work to do this month... looking to be another record month for us -- so thanks to all of our customers for the support and patience on emails
-
I have not yet had time to really catch up... so again, I apologize, I have a LOT of things going on with Sundown right now and I answer 99% of all emails personally so it's been a bit difficult. Thanks for your patience and sorry for any inconvenience.

Well guys... if all goes according to plan we should have some new stuff coming soon ! By years end we should have : * SAX-200.4 : SAX-200.4 Prototypes In - Car Audio Classifieds * SAX-50.4 v.2 (less crossover features and therefore cheaper) -- More information TBA. * SAZ-1500D v.2 (more compact... very similar power output... more robust MOSFETs for enhanced reliability -- of course the 1500D was already a tank) : SAZ-1500D v.2 Photos - Car Audio Classifieds * SA-15 Woofers : SA-10 and SA-15 Factory Pictures - Car Audio Classifieds Prototype SA-15 Excursion Test Video - Car Audio Classifieds SA-15s will be introduced with all the latest features we have been putting into the SA series right off the bat... new magnet boots, triple joint rings, new ventilation system upgrades, and so forth. I wanted these all to come on the 15s right away hence the delay in launching them -- but it is all nearly ready ! ---------- I am excited -- just though I'd put all this in one place... so keep your eyes out for some pre-order specials on the above items hopefully coming soon !

They can work in compact boxes, absolutely.
-
I just got the updated power supply transformers in -- as with many of our other new models we are trying to get the most at the 1 ohm load customers typically use rather than requiring them to drop amps down super low. Hopefully we can get them in and tested soon -- the build house expects a big different at 1 ohm with these transformers.
-
Expect to see SAX-200.4 and SAZ-1500D v.2 pre-orders opening really soon.
-
Not sure at this time... even to generate a comparable amount of motor force to, say, an SA-12 would still raise the price alot. I'm not sure people are willing to pay just to reduce weight.

Two of my sample motors arrived -- now I am going to work on the coils and then try them out : It will be for from 8s through 18s. ----- Started a new thread as the original was from a few months ago and the title doesn't really say what it's about Project I'm Working On - Car Audio Classifieds

1) Yes. 2) That would require Full-Range Class-D to get the size down and have that much power. The original 100.4 was pretty large too. It's something we are looking into.
-
A new box design would be require to change the impedance rise. I may consider different coil configurations later on... I already stock a bunch of different coils between the NS v.1, v.2 and Z v.2 coils all being different. I am working on consolidating coil models a bit so they are a bit more interchangeable then I can worry about different configurations.

It's actually smaller than an SA-12 motor :
