Will do so likely next week.

And the X-12 prototype with copper coils arrived : They spec out well... motor force is where I want it as are other specs. Some more details to go and we may run these and open pre-ordering.

When you take stuff out of the container it expands like Chinese carry-out rice : * Can't fit them all in one frame *laughs* Guess we'll need those pallet racks sooner than later ! No problem on that.

Hope you continue to enjoy them

Indeed -- being a boosted song it likely tips the amp just past protect limits.

Also -- yes, you only need to use one set of terminals. -

Two DVC-1.5 woofers in series / parallel is in fact 1.5 final load -- you are correct. -
Basically the same motor -- gap has been tweaked for the new coil. I was contemplating a shorting ring but not sure if it would fit as well with the SA-8 as the other sizes as the % of cost to total build cost is much higher on the 8s.
-
It sure does look like it, haha -- but the frame tops out a little over 2" p-p

No pallets -- the amount of speakers that fit is FAR less if they were on pallets so we'll just have to work with it. We have about 15% unloaded so far... most of which by my cousin coming in for a few hours while we try to hold down the fort as much as possible... big truck-load of building supplies for our new offices also showed up as well. So we are running around like crazy... taking a small break then back at it.

SA-8/10/12/15 will be fully in stock again... container is here. Will be a day or two to unload and a couple more after to sort and ship things. But you can order now from your dealer.

Another idea I'm toying with... brass plating the motors. It would add no cost to the customer (some cost on my end of course) but would look really neat, IMO... I am getting a sample to see how it looks in person and post pictures. Also since there is a conductive metal IN the gap it is a bit of additional inductance reduction. Not as much as actual thick sleeves but it's something This would be a unique and different alternative to chrome to provide a better quality finish than black paint.
-
I got some initial specs in from the units with shorting ring and the inductance drop is quite large. For the SQ guys out there this will be a nice bonus in distortion reduction!

On the SD-1 line I will have to see what I can do -- the frames cannot be changed on SD-1 v.1, though. Most of the parts for these were all American made and many of the factories no longer exist but the build house MAY have parts. For serious SD-1 inquiries e-mail me -- they will be more expensive than SA re-cones, I know that for sure.
-
If I had a time frame yet I'd share it I can say that my *goal* is 6 months or less but otherwise I don't know as we haven't started seeing parts yet for approval and testing.
-
Testing is going quite well... we are within a few tenths of the SPL coil and catching up on the bottom end (only ~1.5 dB down @ 30 Hz adjusted for power). The v.2 equalizes with the v.1 at 40 Hz and is louder above -- whereas the v.1 SPL coil was behind until 50 Hz and was REALLY far behind under 40 Hz. It looks like with the slightly softer version of the v.2 spider we will have 90% of the SPL performance of the SPL coil v.1 and 90% of the low-end performance of the v.1 all in the same driver

I still don't know when they will be out or when the pre-order will start. Regular cost will be roughly 300 or so with pre-order providing a nice discount.
-
Same here I am expecting some parts to be rolling out within a week or two.

If you have a strapped pair the slave will be the first to protect in most instances as well. May need to un-strap if you are on the edge of a protection condition. The new box may have a lower rising impedance curve.
