    hints on second line?

500-watt Class-D IS in the works as well SAZ-3000D has no firm ETA... although I am shooting for 6 months.

    hints on second line?

Most likely they will have 12 dB or 18 dB slopes. It is quite possible that I will incorporate 24 dB crossovers in later revisions of the lineup.

    Thanks you Google!

Indeed, probably so! I was able to dig up the test results from re-posts on other forums using Google as well. If you can think of enough key words then you can find quite a bit on there!
  5. ANY AMPLIFIER SOLD AFTER MARCH 31st 2007 NO LONGER CARRIES 0.5 OHM WARRANTY COVERAGE. Full explanation is available in this thread: http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/i...?showtopic=7556 ---------- If you intend to run your SAZ-1500D at a 0.5 ohm nominal load please read this entire thread, especially the sections in bold near the bottom. To put it simply at the top... this is a warranty against damage NOT a guarantee that your setup will run without a hitch at 0.5 ohms all the time. I suggest that most consumers run a DCR not under 0.7 ohms for daily applications, and to reserve extremely low impedance use for competition. Read the full text for all details. ---------- The Sundown Audio Warranty is as follows: Your new Sundown Audio amplifier is covered by a 2 year limited warranty if purchased from an authorized Sundown Audio dealer. This warranty does not cover improper installation*, accidental damage, misuse, abuse, improper wiring, operation of unit outside of listed specifications, or any product that has been modified or repaired by anyone other than Sundown Audio. This warranty is transferable provided the original invoice or receipt is still with the unit so that its new owner can prove date and place of purchase. All warranty returns must be sent freight prepaid to Sundown Audio and be accompanied by the original sales invoice or receipt. For faster warranty service please contact us to request a return authorization code. At the sole discretion of Sundown Audio your amplifier will be either repaired or replaced. If no defect is found and the unit must be shipped back the customer is responsible for return freight, if the unit is truly defective the replaced or repaired unit will be shipped back prepaid. In the event of shipping damage due to improper packaging of the return the customer is liable for the cost of all damages, necessary repairs, or replacement. Be sure to properly pack your return! Sundown Audio also offers a 5 year guarantee to our customers for a discounted replacement unit. We are so certain of the quality of our equipment that even if you are at fault for causing damage to your amplifier we will offer you a new unit at a reduced cost compared to MSRP. Contact us via e-mail to take advantage of this offer, even though we doubt you will ever need to! This offer applies ONLY to the original purchaser of the unit and is not transferable like the 2 year limited warranty. As is the case with standard warranty claims the return MUST be sent prepaid and with a copy of the original invoice or receipt. ------ * - Improper installation INCLUDES not having an adequate electrical system for your audio equipment. If you want to run your SAZ-1500D @ 0.5 ohms nominal and retain warranty coverage you must have a factory battery PLUS an additional deep-cycle style battery PER SA-1500D used. Any less is simply not adequate to keep voltage up. http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/i...?showtopic=7116 Look into Loyd's testing thread. Even with a large 1000 CA Everstart Maxx battery his voltage still dropped below 12 volts at 0.5 ohms nominal and you, in fact, gain VERY LITTLE power output with an insufficient electrical system at the reduced impedance. With an additional battery Loyd maintained 12.8 volts. Loyd's battery is HUGE... but a regular 1000 CA deep cycle in addition to your factory battery should be sufficient to maintain over 12 volts at this load with a factory alternator. If you have a high output alternator of 160+ amps and a single LARGE deep cycle like an Group 31 Optima or similar, Kinetik 2400, etc as your primary starting battery / system battery then you are also good for warranty coverage. ------ (Re-Posting of Original Thread) After extensive testing at NOPI Nationals I have decided to extend warranty coverage down to 0.5 ohms on the SAZ-1500D wired to non Stereo Integrity subwoofers as well as SI woofers. We ran Hoss' truck for around 10-12 hours total over the course of the weekend beating the tar out of his BM 12s with his pair of 1500Ds at 0.5 ohms and only hit protection twice all weekend as the voltage creeped down to 10.5 volts or so. So, any normal person should not have an issue provided adequate ventilation is present (and adequate voltage supply). Suffice to say... they are fairly stable at 0.5 ohms nominal, so I will henceforth warranty this load on all drivers and not just SI subwoofers. This is not a recommendation to run at this load as it is a tougher load for the amplifier, but it is a notice that I will repair or replace your SAZ-1500D if it totally dies at this load. A word of advice... leave a good bit of room around the amps at this load as they will get very hot after extended periods of time -- switchable fans may be a good idea if you have limited airspace around the unit. Pushing your unit into thermal protection due to an inadequate or improper install, or due to an in-box impedance that is too low is not a warranty issue, it is on you. Be responsible! DO NOT try to go below 0.5 ohms. I know it's tempting to try to take it "just a bit farther," but you will void your warranty no matter what speakers you have. Loads under 0.5 ohms are absolutely untested and I do not endorse, guarantee, or advise wiring anything below 0.5 ohms to these amplifiers. I also caution anyone attemping this load with non-SI subwoofers that I have not officially tested it on these other drivers and some drivers with lower inductance (eg: XBL^2 drivers and other low inductance designs) MAY not run properly at a 0.5 ohm nominal load. I will cover your amplifier if it is damaged, but I do not guarantee that you will not push it into thermal or overload protection on speakers that I have not tested it on -- at this time meaning anything other than the SI line. Continually pushing your amplifier into protection over and over again due to improper voltage, ventilation, or a load that is too low is considered abuse for warranty reasons. If you are unsure of how to properly install your amplifier for 0.5 ohm operation please consult a professional installer for the necessary electrical upgrades and to ensure that you have adequate ventilation. The most thoroughly tested loads have an Re above 0.43 ohms. If you put a DMM on your load and it is below 0.43 ohms you may have problems running at 0.5 ohms nominal and I do not recommend doing so for extended periods of time (daily operation).

    FS: Used SAZ-1500D

It wasn't bench tested for power numbers, it was tested for other reasons that are not disclosed at this time. This unit was randomly selected and sent out so there is nothing special or wrong with it

    2 Quick Questions........

No. Not for a daily application, and it would not be under warranty under any circumstance as that is 0.25 ohms per amplifier. Why not strap them at 2 ohms? Nearly any coil configuration that can yield 0.5 ohms can also yield 2 ohms. As for the second question. Yes, that electrical system would be fine for a pair of SAZ-1500D amplifiers at a normal load.

    hints on second line?

I am working on a 6-channel but I will have crossovers installed. A non-crossover amplifier likely won't happen all that soon as the overall market appeal isn't sufficient for me to produce that sort of thing *yet* ... but, expect alot of cool stuff once I get the ball rolling and can make some niche items

    Pics of amps?

Thanks Neil You can also see some excellent pictures on the Audio Junkies web-site (one of my dealers linked on the site), he took pictures of his own that are exceptionally well done.
  11. http://www.caraudio.com/forum/showthread.php?t=178329 Next to Brandon's this is the first customer install of Sundown Audio amplifiers. And since Brandon has yet to provide me with pics Hollis is the first to have pics up on the net Crazy install... Hollis has his SAZ-1500Ds wired to 0.5 ohms and they are holding their own.

    2 15 mags and 2 p1000.1 amps

Their P1500.1 is rated 1250 @ 12 volts... it doesn't DO that, at least not anywhere remotely near rated THD. Just a small correction. I will also disagree on clean -- triple rated THD for less than rated power isn't clean by my definition. Not that it sounds terrible, because it doesn't, but I wouldn't go so far as to call it clean either. Comparing the P1500.1 to the SAZ-1500D is a misnomer. They aren't in the same class at all and cannot be compared. Of course the P1500.1 costs less to the consumer, as it costs less than half as much to build! I have the price sheets from the factory Massive uses, so I know this for certain. For that matter... the P3000.1 costs less to build than the SAZ-1500D does. Does that tell you anything about the comparative quality? As for the comparison to the Atomic, I can't comment as I don't know anything about the amp. Is your price authorized with warranty?

Audio Junkies now Carrying Sundown Audio

It is being worked on as quickly as possible. I would expect no longer than 6 months at worst, and 3 months at the very best. Of course, I will keep the forum and/or web-site up to date with all the latest
  14. http://www.audiojunkies.com/Categories/Brands/Sundown/ Audio Junkies is now carrying Sundown Audio gear, it is in stock and ready to ship. They are currently matching the intro sale price, so you can order direct or from them at the intro price until the 28th. Low-Hz will be stocking Sundown Audio amps soon as well. I'll post a notice up when they are in stock.

    2 15 mags and 2 p1000.1 amps

I erased my for sale thread as there was no real interest, but the results are as follows on the "P1500.1 equivalent" test: Tested by K&B Audio. 12.5V 4 Ohm: 388W @ 3% THD, 38A 14.4V 4 Ohm 520W @ 3% THD, 43A 12.5V 2 Ohm: 732W @ 3% THD, 64A 14.4V 2 Ohm 810W @ 3% THD, 75A At 3 times the rated THD it does not meet rated power. It did not pass a 1 ohm resistive test, and in fact, blew out a rectifier diode during the test. I replaced all the rectifier diodes in that amp since I have it up for sale and I wanted to make sure none of the other diodes had problems. It's really not a bad amp overall... since I was able to run a 1 ohm nominal load on it in my car on a Mag 12. It is simply overrated and not overbuilt enough for my tastes -- IMHO, any amp rated to handle 1 ohm should handle that resistively. As for my product, the SAZ-1500D, I am having an intro sale until the 28th at $450 shipped to the continental 48 on my forum here on SS Audio. Go there for more information as this is the SI forum so I don't want to post all about my equipment here. After the sale, Low-Hz will be one of the few net' dealers to pick them up from.

That is correct. He was sending 3000+ watts RMS to his Mag.

    2 15 mags and 2 p1000.1 amps

If you want to use the P1000.1 amplifier I have two amps identical internally to the P1500.1 for sale, check the for sale section. Only $270 shipped for the pair of them. I will tell you this, while it is not a bad amplifier that line has questionable stability at 1 ohm under stress. They won't complete a 1 ohm resistive power test, as per test done by K&B Audio on my identically built models - the protection circuit kicks on. I DID use one on a 12" SI Mag at 1 ohm with no issues, but I am not one to really abuse a sub/amp combo so this does not mean YOU won't run into problems. The P1000.1 will also be far from capable of pushing your Mag 15s to their potential, as the P1500.1 is more realistically a 1000 watt RMS amp at a reasonable THD level... thus the P1000.1 is probably more likely 750 watts RMS or so with reasonable THD. As for my SAZ-1500D... it was tested by Nick Morgan at 13.8 volts in-car to produce 1550 watts on a 1.9 ohm reactive load -- real world power. It is underrated and overbuilt. You will get what you pay for and more. Cutting corners now is asking to change your setup later when you decide you aren't happy with it.

    Lots of amps for sale

    1) E46 BMW Factory Amplifier: $30 shipped in continental USA -- Factory amp taken out of my 2002 325i BMW with standard non-HK system. Works fine but, of course, I put a whole new system in the car. **** 2) BOSS REV-585: $30 shipped in continental USA -- Just like the title says. This amp lacks two set screws so it is only suitable for bridged applications. It features a phase shift (0-180 degrees), selectable HP/LP crossover (80-500 HP, 45-90 LP), and a bass boost (0-18 dB). Chassis states "350 x 2" which is peak 2 ohm stereo... my estimate for real world power output is more like the following: 75 x 2 @ 4 ohms 125 x 2 @ 2 ohms 250 x 1 @ 4 ohms It would be quite suitable as a small subwoofer amplifier. As far as I know it works perfectly, I hooked it up on my test bench and it powered a TB 8" woofer to full excursion without any issues that I could detect. I tested all knobs and switches and everything checks out. Costmetically it has some dings and wear on it, but works fine. **** 3) 2x Soundstream PCA2.130 2-channel amps: $50 each shipped or $90 for the pair shipped to continental USA -- Been trying to sell these for a while, I had some interest but nothing much came up. 40 x 2 @ 4 ohms 60 x 2 @ 2 ohms 120 x 1 @ 4 ohms 40 - 250 Hz selectable HP/LP crossovers **** 4) 2x Unbranded Class-D Amplifiers: $175 each shipped or $300 for the pair shipped to continental USA -- These are identical internally to the Massive Audio Pro Series P1500.1 amplifier. Tested by Serge at K&B Audio to produce: 12.5V 4 Ohm: 388W @ 3% THD, 38A 14.4V 4 Ohm 520W @ 3% THD, 43A 12.5V 2 Ohm: 732W @ 3% THD, 64A 14.4V 2 Ohm 810W @ 3% THD, 75A They didn't like a 1 ohm resistive test load but in my use of them I had no issues running them on a 1 ohm nominal speaker load (Stereo Integrity Mag D2 wired in parallel in a sealed box). Massive Audio claims 1250 RMS for their identical amplifier into 1 ohm (1500 is their peak rating)... I suspect it's more in the area of 1000 RMS. Features include: 20 - 50 Hz Adjustable and selectable subsonic filter 40 - 180 Hz Adjustable low-pass filter Linkable to another unit to strap on a single woofer They have some scuffs and scrapes on them but they look quite good overall. I recommend them for 2 ohm loads more than 1 ohm loads, but again, I had no issues at 1 ohm but this is no guaratee that you will not. **** I will accept payment via Paypal and only by verified Paypal members.

    2 15" mags

Stereo Integrity speakers are very reliable, the latest Mag series has had VERY few defects or failures in the field. As for an amp to run them. Neither the IA 20.1 or the SAZ-1500D is specified to run at a 0.5 ohm load, or to put out maximum power at 2 ohms -- which are the two loads you can achieve with a pair of 15s. Both amps will survive 0.5 ohms, but again, you lose warranty coverage running out of spec. An SAZ-1500D per 15" Mag would be a great combination. I run an SAZ-1500D on a single Mag 12 and find it very satisfying, the combination works very well together. If you are interested in a pair of SAZ-1500Ds I can work out a special offer for you until the 28th of August when the intro sale ends. If you buy two SAZ-1500Ds along with a pair of 15" Mags; Stereo Integrity and Sundown Audio will offer you a package price for the combination. PM or e-mail me if you are interested in more details.
