On 1500 RMS I wouldn't be worried about them -- the 18s will be 480, yes. It takes pretty big power to max out the 9.25" spider even free air.

Many PA drivers make sacrifices in the name of the highest 1w/1m figures -- we didn't do that with the NeoPro line. I think they sound pretty darn good.

Thanks for input. My box is a single chanber. So can i just add more ports? Or what is the recoomended? Currently is round 4 and 14 long. What round port can i add to tune the box properly. Thanks guys im really goint. To fix it today! A 6" port should do it for four of them. You may also want to raise tuning to 35 or so... in-vehicle tuned to 30 is often too low after loading on the vehicle.

Port is too small for that many subs.

Testing 400-watt E-15 prototype in free air. As per my comments in the video we'll have 8mm more rearward clearance on production (16mm p-p) so the driver will support even more throw before any mechanical tapping.
-
I am looking into starting production in less than 30-days... so keep your eyes peeled for a pre-order special.

Thanks -- we are working on getting some updates over to our web guy (Mark @ SSA).

We have an E8 already

We will be running a raffle for an Obsidian Audio 15D2 and a Sundown Audio SAX-1200D in order to benefit the National MS Society Bike Ride Event. For every $5 donated your name will be entered into the raffle one time. For instance, if you donate $50 you will get ten entries for the raffle. If/When you send a donation please note with your donation "Sundown Audio" so we will know who has donated in order to enter the raffle. To donate / participate in the raffle click the following link : National MS Society - Bike Event: Our friend Terri Latimer is participating in this ride to benefit Nick Lemons; another personal friend / business associate of mine. Many of you may recognize Nick from the forums as "Electrodynamic" -- the owner of Stereo Integrity and part owner / sub designer for Obsidian Audio. So here is a good chance to benefit MS research while also getting a chance to win an awesome car audio bass package. We will be doing the drawing for the winner of the raffle on September 19th after the ride (which is itself on September 17th). *added 08/29/2011* In addition to the above items, the raffle now additionally contains a Sundown Audio 125.2 and two Sundown Audio neo pro 8" woofers. That's right, the entire lot now contains the following: 1) Obsidian Audio 15" D2 subwoofer 1) Sundown Audio 1200D amplifier 1) Sundown Audio 125.2 amplifier 2) Sundown Audio 8" Neo Pro woofers

when is sundown audio going to have some deals on here soon?
sundownz replied to 05Trailblazer's topic in Sundown Audio
Typically I don't plan out a sale a huge amount of time in advance... kind of spontaneous. As of this moment I am not planning any sales; but you may see some pre-orders and whatnot. -
No it won't -- the spacer is solid for these as the frame is already vented. Additional spacer venting would provide no benefits.

Thermal test completed @ 60 Hz sine wave : TIME // CLAMPED WATTS At ~400 the heat wasn't building up any faster than it could be dealt with as demonstrated by the minimal drop in power over time once it hit operating temp. So I feel the 400 RMS rating is well deserved -- it could literally handle that "all day" so to speak. Then we hit it with more power after the typical 5 minute test as we normally do... it took over 2 minutes at 500-700 after that to kill it. Conclusion... thermal capacity is a non-issue on this design @ 400 RMS. I have a big, long, boring video I may upload for the test as well. Little inside view after we cut it up :

Sundown SAZ 1200-D fried...can't figure out why
sundownz replied to RJT2011's topic in Sundown Audio
I haven't had much time to look at it in depth but I think it may have just been a small issue with a few tiny parts out of spec. -
Your amp won't put out the full rated power when crossed over so you will be fine more than likely. Power varies alot by frequency with most of it going to low frequencies -- you would be surprised how "little" a mid sees through the crossover.

Weights : 10 - 16.4 lbs 12 - 16.9 lbs 15 - 17.8 lbs Mounting Depths : 10 - 5.5" 12 - 6.25" 15 - 7.0" Add 5/16" for production due to the spacer I'm adding.

Yes it will be painted black -- I am not sure on the boot just yet. I'd rather go ahead and get them out there and worry about things like the boot a bit later on.
-
When they are in production I'll work on a pre-order.

I don't have much in the way of other brand stuff to compare except an older Memphis HPO and many of you may be familiar with it... you can see the E line motor is no slouch and ALOT more than you would expect to get from a small line driver for around 100 bucks retail. The E motor has more steel than the HPO and a wider magnet... just a shorter stack of ferrite. * Gap vents and the "neat" touches I did cosmetically on the steel shaping * BEEF

E-10/12/15 Prototypes are here! After initial testing the only thing I need to do is tool some spacers to put under the frames as these bad boys can get moving a good bit ! Otherwise I'm very pleased so far.

Our guys in Russia do it fairly often -- I'd use around 0.2 cubes.
