Which fuses exactly? And what size are they?
-
Indeed, if you start getting under 11.5 then you have a problem. I would say try to keep it around 12 to play it safe since you know you are upgrading the electrical in a few weeks anyhow.
-
I wouldn't say "good" as each amp is capable of over 400 amps of current draw depending on how they are wired and how high you have the volume knob set. You can certainly listen to music daily on two yellow tops and a 300 amp alternator, no problem, but don't expect full output from them for more than burps Just keep an eye on your voltage and you'll be okay.
-
Keep the volume low and you will be fine until you get the electrical system going again.

Yes and no, The SAZ-3000D is strappable to another one for a underrated 6000watts and No it's not 2 amps in one chassis\heatsink. Correct, it is no two amps in one chassis. And also correct, it is strappable

I had a similar experience to yours, about the same.

So... stuff was piling up again. I found more b-stocks, more used 1500Ds are coming back from Team members, and some refurbished amps are popping up here and there as well: http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQsassZsundownzQQhtZ-1 B-Stock, Used, and Refurbished amps do come with a warranty but it is reduced compared to a brand new unit from a dealer: Used / B-Stock = 1-year warranty Refurbished = 90-day warranty All amps listed for sale on e-bay are tested thoroughly on my bench here before leaving.

I don't have anything planned at this moment, but it is possible... price would be determined at that time.
-
As of now they are active with 24dB slopes crossed at 3,000 Hz... the midbass has a 24dB high pass at 65 Hz on the 3Sixty.2 unit, a 50 Hz high pass on the amp at 12dB per octave, and the subsonic around ~30 Hz again at 24 dB per octave on the amp. So... I really killed the low frequencies hard, thus allowing me to use a lower than normal crossover frequency.
-
Indeed... I gave up the idea of using deep 6x9" speakers in the back rather than subs due to those bars. I just ripped out the rears completely to allow more bass into the cabin.

I need to sell off some of my collection so here goes. ---------- 1x TC-3000 Dual-2 15" Subwoofer $325 + Shipping http://www.sundownaudio.com/misc/TC-3000_1.jpg http://www.sundownaudio.com/misc/TC-3000_2.jpg * Brand new, never even hooked up. 1x TC-5400 LMS Dual-2 15" Subwoofer $650 + Shipping http://www.sundownaudio.com/misc/LMS-5400_1.jpg http://www.sundownaudio.com/misc/LMS-5400_2.jpg http://www.sundownaudio.com/misc/LMS-5400_3.jpg http://www.sundownaudio.com/misc/LMS-5400_4.jpg Both of those are still in their boxes. I hooked up the LMS-5400 to make sure it was in working order. Will be packed and shipped properly. ---------- I have 2x DD 9512 F motors / G basket and soft parts Dual 4 ohm. Both fresh re-coned used for testing for about an hour or so. These have carbon fiber dust caps. $400 + Shipping Each http://www.sundownaudio.com/misc/9512s_1.jpg http://www.sundownaudio.com/misc/9512s_2.jpg I also have 2x DD 9515 E Motors / F soft parts Dual 1 ohm. Both are used but not abused. They are dusty from sitting around but I will clean them up before shipment. I played around with them a bit but not too much. $350 + Shipping Each http://www.sundownaudio.com/misc/9515s_1.jpg http://www.sundownaudio.com/misc/9515s_2.jpg ---------- I have one TC-9 15" and one TC-9 12" from teamquakecelica. These are Dual-2 subs with plain black "boob" aluminum dust caps. I've played around with these a bit and they do have some scuffs on the back plates. $137.50 + Shipping Each http://www.sundownaudio.com/fs/TC9_12_Back.jpg http://www.sundownaudio.com/fs/TC9_12_Cone.jpg http://www.sundownaudio.com/fs/TC9_15_Back.jpg http://www.sundownaudio.com/fs/TC9_15_Cone.jpg

*laughs* I will probably end up with some refurbished amps by the end of the season thanks to my competition guys They can always find a way to blow stuff up. No b-stock yet... but I'll probably have at least one by the time I go through them all. I tested six yesterday on my "lab Mags" (the pair of Mags I test everything with)... after six 3000Ds in a row the Mags were a bit smelly *laughs*

I have not yet measured efficiency as my Fluke clamp does not do DC current... once I get a few more important things taken care of at Sundown a more advanced clamp is on my list. Efficiency is quite good... but 2,000 watts on stock electrical is asking a bit much, don't you think?
-
No, that is the output current to the speaker load.
-
Voltage drop will make them very hot, very fast. What have you changed since before that now you have a problem? Is a ground wire loose? How about the set screws on the d-block? Try to tighten them all. A loose connection will drop voltage. Also... try a larger battery, preferably an AGM type like Kinetik with a large capacity. A single red top isn't very robust, IMHO. This keeps you over the 12.8 mark for longer once you have exceeded the capacity of your alternator. Looked at an HO alternator? You can get some decent ones that aren't insanely powerful from Alterstart on e-bay with a warranty without spending a fortune.

I have plenty of brand new 3000Ds, just not b-stocks as he asked about.
-
I do not have any, sorry!

A few updates... I added a seperate relay to turn the 3Sixty.2 on -- this seems to quiet down the turn-off pop. It was loud enough to make my ears ring before, seriously. I also totally revamped my gain structure by resetting the 3Sixty.2 through a new setup and lowering my gains. This eliminated 90% of my system hiss. I could probably get rid of the rest with a superior head unit or a line driver. But it is almost totally inaudible now. Need to install the second midbass still... motivation is damped due to my deadener not being here.
-
The only spare I have is a 100.2 heatsink -- this one had the board cracked in three places in shipping due to the power terminals being jammed into the amp so hard they broke off the board. But... I will probably be making a custom SAE-1000D with that heatsink for one of my dealers that wants to match his 1000D to his 100.4 since I don't have the SAE 4 channel ready yet
-
I've always got stuff laying around and new stuff moving in and out, you should ask me before buying anything
-
Be sure to e-mail SSA for the best price, by the way

I would go with a dual acoustic suspension bandpass... Seriously, though... try some PA speakers that still have healthy x-max figures like the B&C 18TBX100. Has a very flat response ported... it's over 2% efficient (many car subs are 0.2% efficient) and has a 4" VC and extensive motor venting so it'll keep being efficient under high power. If space was no consideration, as Jim said, you could build a horn setup with such a driver and achieve ridiculous SPL with a few hundred watts.
-
That is what my testing showed, yes. I should probably do it again and take a little video
-
I add them to the box as an "extra" type deal, I sometimes forget when packing things up.
