I know many are wondering, What the 250.2 update?
sundownz replied to theothermike's topic in Sundown Audio
About $549 MSRP. Pricing on pre-orders is as yet to be determined, will likely be in the low to mid 400s. PS: The new crossover will have the following features: Subsonic @ 10 Hz - 500 Hz HPF @ 30 - 3000 Hz (30 - 300 with x10 switch) LPF @ 50 - 5000 Hz (50 - 500 with x10 switch) Bass Boost @ 35 - 120 Hz variable w/ 0 - 18 dB boost You can easily bandpass a midbass / midrange driver with these features. I also went from 50 amp to 70 amp transistors from prototype to production in the power supply as well as going from 63 volt to 80 volt capacitors. The proto didn't have any problems with these parts, but hey, thats how I roll -
Discovered that customs did it -- they opened to the package for inspection and put it back wrong *sigh* Anyway, I am getting parts for it -- hopefully soon.

Two 1500Ds strapped @ 2 ohms would be a better choice. Since I do not cover it by warranty I will not tell you that it is okay. People do run them this way, though.
-
Only a few more weeks left to pre-order!
-
You will have no warranty coverage at 1/2 ohm.

2 sundown saz 1500's or 1 sundown saz 3000d

Gotta keep it civil. I'll close this one now as it has ran the course. -
The way the packing was it would have messed up any driver. But anyway, they are sending me a re-cone so I can repair and test it!

2 sundown saz 1500's or 1 sundown saz 3000d

Indeed, the SAZ-3000D is a totally different board design than the 1500D. It is almost exactly twice as powerful as the 1500D, but it does have a totally different design to achieve that In this case, one 3000D @ 1 ohm would be preferred. Running the pair of 1500Ds strapped @ 1 ohm is not covered under warranty. -
Anyways Like I said. Not really soon. *Maybe* towards the end of next year.

I get people asking me about big amps alot lately. Of course, the market outside of the SPL scene is incredibly small so it's not a huge priority at this time. I'd like to do it, but many other things will come first.
-
Not this time. They are 100% compatible with one another still.
-
Not in the very near future, no. Sometime next year? Maybe. If so, it would be towards the END of next year most likely. PS: If you want a 3000D with the current style heat-sink please do it soon. Only four remain in stock that are ready to ship -- e-mail me for more information.

Not a good idea. -
Very glad to see that you finally received the amp! PS: The font is the same one used for the "Sundown Audio" logo.

Nice pics I'm liking all the Sundown stickers! Pretty amazing transformation for 30 mins!

Computer is still doing great Actually bought a PC game for the first time in YEARS -- HellGate London. Pretty much like a revised Diablo. Pretty fun... I probably play ~30 mins a day in between doing other things.

sundownz replied to theothermike's topic in Sundown Audio
Probably something like that. Many of my woofer projects continue to get delayed (see 8" woofer thread) so perhaps I can push it up a little, we'll have to see. -
Aw man... I'm depressed... the 8" proto came in damaged. Something heavy had been sitting on top of the shipping container and has fully and permanently depressed the suspension ALL the way back *sigh* Looks like these will be getting a big delay to get this taken care of.

All amps sold.

soooo.... where to get a hold on a pair of BM`s?
sundownz replied to kickerzx's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
Steve, I can ship some to you, e-mail me with your full shipping information and I'll get a quote for you -- [email protected] -
It's going to be sick
-
Yep. I will be addressing this on each SAX and SAZ amp model as the new heatsink makes it's way to them. I will print the model number mirrored in the opposite corner as well. This will make it identical with the bar flipped either way.

The 250.2 needed several things before release vs. the prototype. 1) I had to tool a new crossover board to get the features I wanted -- that is done. 2) I had to tool a new heat-sink to make it run cool enough bridged -- that will be done in January and will first appear on the 3000D. It will make it's way to all other SAX and SAZ amps as time goes on. Once those are done then I can actually move towards making it production. -
Four of these would be sweet in any setup! Which amp ? You should know what amp you shipped it Ah crap... I was thinking car audio amp. Um yah... four of them would work well on that amp. Use a large box for efficiency and have at it.
