Pre-Orders for the SD-1 v.2 are open now. I expect to have them before the end of the year. The pre-order will go on until December 14th (extended from the 7th). DESCRIPTION: These subs will throw down in very small enclosures and will now handle much more power than the original SD-1. Ideal for shallow truck enclosures! They utilize a single 6" diameter magnet slug to achieve the necessary flux. Behind the cone you will find a progressive roll spider and a special treatment applied to the back of surround and upper lip of the cone to get more stability from the surround and to bring the Mms to where it needed to be. The leads are offset out to the sides and slightly raised to eliminate the possibility for slapping and the motor itself has quite a bit of clearance for the coil thanks to a deeply bumped back plate. These are serious SQ subs in a very shallow and efficient package. Made the in the USA to the highest possible standards to last for many years to come. They come with our 2-year standard limited warranty against defects. They also carry our 5-year discounted replacement policy -- should you be at fault for damage to your speaker you can purchase a new one at a discount if you send back the damaged one. SPECIFICATIONS: Dual 4-ohm impedance 2.5" diameter voice coil Kapton voice coil former 400-watts RMS rated power 12mm linear excursion one-way 4.5" mounting depth Narrow profile foam surround for low Mms and maximum cone area High quality polypropylene cone and dust cap MADE IN USA Qes = 0.437 Qms = 4.545 Qts = 0.399 Fs = 28.77 Hz VAS = 56.92 L Mms = 88 grams Cms = 337 uM/N RE = 7.31 ohms (series) BL = 16.55 N/A (series) Le = 2.13 mH (series) PICTURES: SUGGESTED ENCLOSURES: SEALED = 0.95 ft^3 with no poly-fill stuffing at all and as small as 0.5 ft^3 with heavy poly-fill stuffing (1 pound per sub). Anywhere in between with varying levels of poly-fill stuffing works great. You will get an F3 around 52 - 55 Hz in that range. PORTED = 1.75 ft^3 tuned to 30 Hz for a smooth response down to a 30 Hz F3. A smaller 1.25 - 1.50 ft^3 tuned to 35 Hz can be used for a "peakier" response if that is desirable for the listener.

Cool, keep me posted i am realy intrested in picking up some of these as soon as there avalible. BTW are they being built the same place as the old SD-1's v1's?They are not, the 8s are made overseas. PS: Sean (ibanender) has been beating the crap out of the original proto for quite some time with well above rated power -- he is rather pleased with it.

Getting the final details ironed out on the design then production will be ASAP.
-
I don't have any at the moment... may have a refurbished one in a week or so, though.
-
Ohio is far Not sure, perhaps if a finals event is held there I may come up!
-
Yep, they are pretty loud.
-
Cool The packing is pretty good on them, glad that it made it okay! I'm anxious to hear your thoughts!
-
*laughs* Yah, really. That was unpleasant.
-
I want to change the insides of the box first, but yah, I want to do bass boxing Maybe 16x 12" Nightshades and keep it 4th order... or 8x 12" Nightshades and make it 6th order. Not sure yet... and it may be totally different than that *laughs* No telling!
-
Dunno, haven't tried that yet... I'd guess 154s or so.
-
See my sig for the truck
-
It's pretty loud
-
Yah, Rich had a sub problem... the setup looked promising then a sub locked up before he got to meter.
-
There are quite a few, so it would be easier to link here: http://audioforum.termpro.com/topic/28/890.html There are class division by amp rated current draw, box type (wall, no wall, etc), and surface diameter of woofers.
-
Mike, If someone had an award winning SQ car I could set them up with Team pricing for that as well
-
I have some stuff that I need to add... will do that shortly.
-
Adding more than ~1 pound per chamber in your case would be too much.
-
Yes sir, as soon as I finished unload all 100 of them (1500 pounds) I printed my labels, put em in the car, and drove to the UPS store! I wanted to see these get to their owners ASAP
-
Dropped off all pre-orders at the UPS store around 5:50 PM
-
Make that today If I can get them unloaded in time I may ship the pre-orders out today as well! If not, they will ship Monday.
-
Pre-Order over. I should have them in the next few business days.
-
I have decided to run the pre-sale up until January 31st to give everyone who is interested plenty of time!
-
Not yet... but I will let you guys know as soon as that is possible.

Photo of the 12" model. T/S Specs for 12" D1 model: Qts = 0.403 Qms = 6.830 Qes = 0.428 Fs = 43 Hz (fresh without break-in) VAS = 11.65 L (fresh without break-in) Le = 1.41 mH (series) Re = 1.59 ohms Xmax = 20 mm BL = 17.58 N/A 15" model T/S are TBA. This sub is designed to be something that you can roll around with daily and hit SPL competitions with, all in the same woofer It's very daily friend but will still put up good numbers on the meter when you want it to do so. Now... they will be ready in February in 12" and 15" sizes with D1 and D2 coils. My question is this... who wants to be able to pre-order them now? If there is enough interest I will go ahead and get it started.
