What sort of terminal do you prefer over spring loaded?
-
The final proto is on it's way to me -- I'm confident that this will be the one Sean has been having a good run with the first prototype that I re-coned with the new parts. I wanted to make sure that the factory assembly of the new parts was just as good before proceeding!

Corey is correct, the 10" model is 5" deep.

saz 3000d vs IA40.1
sundownz replied to HellRzR's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Indeed, I haven't had my hands on a 40.1 to offer a direct comparison. Perhaps someone on here has -- have you tried Termpro? -
saz 3000d vs IA40.1
sundownz replied to HellRzR's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
The 40.1 is rated for 3600 and the 3000D for 3000 watts, so the 40.1 should do more power as it is a larger amplifier. Are there any sort of restrictions on amperage in your class? -
Ray, I think the 12" Nightshade will probably do pretty well in Street, I'd like to see it tested I started with 12" and 15" models as they are the best sellers. I'll have to do some testing on 10" and 18" models before releasing them, but they are coming too.

Not sure... the MT is a great SPL sub. My box is tuned quite low as it sits, with a higher tune it could do a 60 without issue.

Black does have one advantage for production -- less lead time. They have to send off the parts to be chromed, the black parts are finished at the steel manufacturer. I think black will be simpler and classier, so I'll go that way.

Thanks for all the great pics, by the way

Indeed... I was leaning towards black, just happened it was faster to prototype it in chrome PS: This is the first of the "E" series woofers... I am prototyping other sizes. I can't give release dates but it'll be a great value line.

100.4: Differences between pre-production and productions models
sundownz replied to HmoobVaj's topic in Sundown Audio
Yah, the very latest 100.4s have updated crossover ranges. The first batch of 100.4s are identical to the prototype, although, the proto had no part number on it IIRC. -
A 400 watt RMS driver doesn't need leads like the FI Extreme lead package The way they are offset to the side and curled like that they won't slap at all. The little black glue spots are very flexible too so the lead won't be subject to stress in those areas either.
-
Question for those interested... Keep it chrome? or Make it black? Either way won't change the cost.
-
I have decided to run the pre-sale up until January 31st to give everyone who is interested plenty of time!
-
Cool Weird how they got split up! Dropped them all off at the same time.

I won't stop you Corey

It's sometimes difficult to contact them by e-mail. Try their forum: http://audioforum.termpro.com/cgi-bin/ubb/...?/forum/28.html

Under 100 dollars MSRP pricing... probably around 75 - 80 MSRP.

100.4: Differences between pre-production and productions models
sundownz replied to HmoobVaj's topic in Sundown Audio
Nothing really IIRC it didn't have a part number on it, but thats about it. -
The cone is a heavy duty poly -- the coating on the back, aka: "shineyness," goes up onto the surround to strengthen the foam, increase the glue joint strength, add a little bit of mass, and stiffen it up a bit to lower the VAS.

Corey, He has a 400-watt amp on it day to day (old red Orion HCCA @ 4 ohms)... we burped it several times with an 800-watt amp on tap in his CRX as well.

Me = sensitive ears SQ guy by heart! I'll probably try to make SBN this year... hopefully I can re-build the box by then and get louder.
