*laughs* I was worried for a second reading the title!

It's all good

The SD-1 v.2 is an excellent choice for a good, clean, "low" powered system. They sound fantastic.
-
The TC-9 is a pretty solid and proven motor -- with good parts it can make a great speaker. Just about any coil fits in the gap as well, it has a great deal of flexibility as the gap is pretty wide.

Unfortunately, there is not. The 3000D model really needs it least of all, they are the coolest running amp in the line -- just so happens I made the heatsink tool at the same time I was ready for a run of 3000Ds

Brian, If you want to sell custom skins for Sundown amps that is fine with me. I'm not sure what is involved or if you could sell them effectively to the end user... but maybe you could sell the service of making and applying it to amps people send in?
-
I have plans for SAE multi-channels... a 50-75x2 and a 50x4 model will be offered -- but I do not have a good ETA on them.
-
i can dig that. i have been going through the same thing with some (non-audio) products i am developing. how about a pre-sale? i'm in for 2. There will be a pre-sale, I just need more time to gather capital for the 250.2 model.

Very glad to hear that you are pleased The TC-3000 is a mean woofer as well!
-
They are 76.2mm coils formers... the ones I have are anyway. Gotta be careful... I wasted a good re-cone because of that! On that note... if you want to make it into a 15" I have three Sig 15" re-cones.

It was loud

I had thought about it. Likely I won't take it away entirely since some customers actually want it, but in the future I'm going to reduce the amount of boost it is capable of.
-
Thanks for the feedback on the SD-1 v.2s Glad you enjoy them!

Well, my TL finally came back so put the truck on the meter... my head hurts even with ear plugs AND hearing protective head phones on. First go @ the TL after finding the peak of 48 hz: Legal mic position too: Take a look at my collection of Powermaster D3100s, seven at this time: Used to power four SAZ-3000Ds: Dual Powermaster alternators for the win: While taking that last pic I realized that I forgot to tighten the ground on the top alternator... so I did so and run the truck again: ---- Not too bad! Now... it's time to get tweaking

lol no all it takes is to undo the 2 alan screws at the ends of the silver bar and to lift that bar out and turn it around Correct, it's just two allen screws to flip the name plate. My amps are showing up Monday and I think they'll only have the SAZ-1500D on one side...I want to flip the whole cover around (not just the chrome nameplate) so that all writing on the amp reads properly...does that make more sense? That would involve taking apart the entire amp, drilling new holes for the transistor tie-downs, etc... I cannot warranty an amp that has this procedure performed by the end user.

Got a new car today... been wanting one for a while so pulled the trigger. Picked up a 2006 VW GTI 2.0T today Okay, so it's not NEW per-se... but it does look new, and it's new to me! It's time that I went back to a hatch-back vehicle to make me really happy again Pics soon! Once I get settled into the new Sundown warehouse in the coming weeks I'll start on the system.

*laughs* No fins on the car! The 100.4 and 1500D will be next to get the new heatsink in 60-90 days or so, followed later by the 100.2 -- for those wondering Any internal changes on them planned along with the heat sink upgrade? The SAX-100.4 is moving from the DFP50N06 to the DFP70N06 transistor in the power supply section. Out of the 1% or so 100.4s that failed due to actually blowing up something it was a power supply transitor in those cases. The SAZ-1500D will remain the same for the time being. The extra heatsink will increase the life of the transistors further by keeping them cooler, though

Prices dropped on all items listed currently.

There will not be any modded amps for competition. They pretty much do anything that you need without mods. Have you been in touch with me via e-mail? I don't always connect screen names with people Yeah, shaun schiffinger [email protected] Gotcha LMK when you are ready.
-
The face of the amp is exactly the same -- I made the changes subtle on purpose, but it will effect the cooling substantially.
-
Powermaster batteries will make a substantial difference. One Powermaster battery = about three regular lead acid batteries of the same dimensions

At this time I'm thinking either 5x 15s or 9x 12s for the new setup in the truck.
