Original thread is closed as ordering has been shut down. They will be leaving our factory March 8th - 13th and arrival time is 25 - 35 days... so we will be from 1st to 2nd week of April which is a bit behind schedule but not too bad. We sold such a huge quantity it will probably take 2 weeks or more to get them all tested and shipped out. If any stock remains regular ordering will open back up after that point. We have to make sure that we have enough fully QC passing units to supply all currently paid pre-orders before taking any more orders. If you missed out... we have two more production runs scheduling for arrival in ~May and another for arrival in ~June-July but the pricing will be regular and not pre-order special.

SSA has a stocking quantity coming to them -- from which your woofer will be shipped.
-
That is correct -- the sound will be a very different type of sound primarily due to lower THD and the increased bottom end.
-
We shipped all orders that we have directly with us already.
-
It's on the back seats behind the box I'll work on videos and whatnot later in the week.
-
Forgot to add -- I am powering them off the rear channels of my SAX-200.4 bridged at 1.33 ohm (I don't endorse it for anyone else but so far so good).
-
The specs in the pre-order are final on them, yes.
-
Glad you like it !

Whew! Forgot to take pictures of the haul from today... but our FedEx man came by twice =) We should have the last of the pre-ordered SA-8s v.2s out Monday and also start shipping NeoPro-6.5 pre-orders !

so i may have two half broken coils one on each sub... at the same time.? you know whats funny.... im not even mad at my self... i wanted to pull the box anyway,... and i wanted to recone the subs to dual 2's any how..... i had just NEVER seen this issue before. blew my mind. Most likely not -- it would say ~2 ohms more than likely if they were half out. See the first part of the post; touch the DMM leads together and see what it says first. my DMM reading jumps around ALOT.. when i i touch them togather... but it settles at 1. and .9 so 1 ohm i guess. I have several DMMs around here that are awful at reading resistance but do everything else okay. If you have 1 ohm on the leads and read 2 ohms on the subs the sub load is 1 ohm.

We'll have specs up soon on the 12s.
-
Touch your DMM leads together and see what it says. If the coils were "half broken" then resistance on one side would double as they are bifilar wound coils -- a D2 is actually Quad-4 for example. Then two 4 ohm windings are in parallel per side for 2 ohms.

They are in stock this morning. Truck is unloaded and I've started testing. Some of the earliest orders will get shipped today. It could take up to a week to get them ALL shipped since we test every one of them. I posted some inventory pictures on our Facebook. Please DO NOT ask me about your individual order as I will not be going through the whole folder to check. Just know we will test and ship them ASAP and tracking #s will be dispatched to your dealer if you ordered from a dealer or to your PAYPAL e-mail account if you ordered that way.

The SA-8 v.2 container is released from port and should be to us by Wednesday. We are trying to get them to pick it up sooner but there is supposidly a backup of containers due to the Easter holiday. If we are able to get it here sooner I'll post another update.

I'm working on alot of stuff right now... I am not 100% sure how much will make it to the market by the end of this year but lets cover what is currently in the pipe-line : 1) Nightshade v.3 -- Already discussed on the forums a bit. This will be 15s and 18s only for a while -- maybe a few 12s for burp apps but NO TENS. 2) New Sundown baskets in 10/12/15 sizes. I can't show off the renderings yet until my ornamental patent application is in... but think at LEAST as much clearance as the "Eclipse" baskets AND even stronger. 18s will definitely not make it for 2012... but are on the road-map for 2013. This will allow me to make the NS v.3 in 12s for music applications. These will be used on everything larger than the SA line. ** -- With the baskets come all new spiders, cones, and surrounds. Some pretty sick stuff... you guys will like it. 3) Entirely new SAX / SAZ amp line... yes you read that correctly. I won't say any more yet until I get some prototypes Only the NS-1 isn't being re-vamped as it's already brand new and a separate line. 4) The elusive "X" line to go between the SA and Z lines (rated 1kw)... this will start to debut once the baskets are done. 12s first, then 15s, then 10s... not sure if all sizes will fit into 2012 yet or not but we will try! So yes our 1kw line will have huge spiders and tons of throw. And YES the X-8 is still in the works... it's just been a huge pain with the vendors but it's still on the table. It's been a while since I made a "coming soon" thread... and you know how I like to keep you guys in the loop ! I'm sure I forgot a few things... but don't worry -- I will update along the way ! PS: The new baskets open up 4" coil designs with high excursion. Hmmmm... Wonder what that could mean for late 2012 to 2013 designs ?! ----- Fun fact : Our new 15" frame tool = ~7.7 lbs 15" Eclipse Style = ~5.0 lbs 15" 12-spoke = ~3.3 lbs 15" 4-spoke = ~2.7 lbs Suffice to say I only wanted to tool this once no matter how heavy I wanted to make a woofer motor in the future. And since basket prices go by the amount of aluminum -- you can see why we won't use it on the SA as it weighs / costs 2.85x more than a 4-spoke Also I've managed to keep the cut-out within about ~8mm (0.3") of a standard frame on the 12s and 15s. It had to grow a bit as the frame material is so much thicker. But to fit the 8 3/8" spider that I've grown to like so much from the Z v.3 15" on the new 10" frame I have to expand it by around 1/2" or so. I wasn't happy with just using a 200mm (8.0") spider since I am doing it I may as well do it the way I want it ! So users will have to do a bit more modding to their box on that one... but hey, that is what it will take to make a 10" worth having, IMO As much as I currently HATE making beefy 10s... this will alleviate my hatred for them as I will be able to make 10s throw down like the video I recently put up of the NS v.3 -- food for thought

Will it be the same size or smaller? Hopefully a little smaller. It will be smaller.
-
It will be more than the 100.4 but with the wattage increase figured in it's only a small amount of difference dollar to watt. I don't want to spoil it yet... but I think everyone will love the SAX-125.4
-
This has taken slightly longer than I hoped but I should have the first two new amps ready to test in a few weeks as the board are pretty much ready and just need the case tooling to get mounted in. SAZ-1500D v.3 SAX-125.4 The 100.4 part is no more -- this unit is a good bit more powerful. I'll leave the rest of the details as a surprise  Next up once those launch will be the SAZ-2500D v.2 and SAZ-3500D v.2 models... and finally we'll release a new SAX two channel likely in the 150-watt or so range this time around! Once that is all done we can get cracking on the SAE amp line again.

All updates will go in the SA-8 v.2 pre-order update thread :
-
They are doing the "offical" drafts to meet the documentation requirements of the patents based on the drawings I already have of the frames -- then they'll get them filed as soon as possible after that. Once I have confirmation of filing from my patent attorny I'll be ready to share

I consider the new baskets and soft parts to be a major change -- so yes. The Z v.3 motor can handle a good bit more travel than we are using right now so I don't have to mess with it for a while.
-
When can we expect to see these on the X and Z series subs? I don't think I saw where that was said but I might've missed it. I cannot give a specific date just yet. Depends on how tooling goes, if any tweaks need to be made, etc, etc. I will also need all new voice coils with taller formers.

I am very excited... after the incredible success of getting a TON of stroke from the SA-8 v.2 it's now time to move up
