Indeed it does Very important to use a good product as well - Second Skin Pro has my seal of approval for sure.

Almost forgot to mention... this is only one layer so far. I am going to test two layers.
-
All I can say is WOW so far... 155.0 dB -- Base-Line Score this morning 154.9 dB -- Base-Line with door panel and vapor guard off Since the holes in my door are TINY I decided that it would be nearly impossible to do meaningful dampening to the outside skin... so I am going to use both layers INSIDE. * Small access holes - and there is alot of crap blocking access to the front 1/2 of the door and top half of the door. * I used two full sheets of dampener and one small piece from another sheet. *DRUM ROLL* HOLY CRAP. I gained 0.4 dB compared to the door skin off score and 0.3 dB from the base-line score with the door skin on from this morning. Even going by the high 155.1 dB from the other day that is still 0.1 dB PER SHEET of Damplifier Pro! Apparently my Jeep likes to have these holes sealed up.

From here on out I have the new setup installed : * New box position in the back * The 3000s in place - with box slid up against the rack * I put a piece of tape across to make sure I stayed behind the b-pillar As of now this setup is peaking at 47 Hz -- the previous setup peaked at 53 Hz.

I am thinking about hats - but I am a bit busy with new products at the time

I need to get more in... we are out of most of the big sizes above L at the moment.
-
Haha, nice.

It is possible but I don't really like to

The coil is actually a dual wall former - one coil / former inside the other. It is said to increase thermal power handling as the second former is like additional moving heat-sink for the coil. The patent can be seen here : http://www.google.com/patents?vid=USPAT6292079

I'd say the power you are actually using from the amp is MUCH higher with the DDs than the Kickers in that case.

And very importantly... February = Not as hot outside as now Ambient temperature has a big effect.

Burped it fresh today (last test at 154.9 was 10th burp of the day) and with SAX-50.4 un-hooked : Not bad! Still @ 47 Hz at the moment.

New Box : 7 cubes with 195 in^2 of port area You can see it is very close to the hatch... this was not as planned - I have to move the amp rack forward to move the box forward. Due to the proximity to the hatch my loudest frequency dropped to 45 Hz (the vehicle actually peaks at 53 Hz) - but it put up a good number anyway! 154.2 dB @ 45 Hz legal dB Drag Style 157.0 dB @ 45 Hz in the kick panel one door open 2x SAZ-3000Ds @ 1/2 ohm and 17.9v 2x Nightshade v.2 Prototypes (the SPL is about the same as the original but these have a higher long-term power handling) I have not done ANY resin work to the box... no corner smoothing pieces... no sanding... nothing like that. So it has more to go... not to mention getting it back to the right frequency!

Looks very good!
-
Only 3+4 and only if the LPF is on.
-
It will take oversized 1/0 from KnuKonceptz - same size terminals the 1500D.
-
* Nice shiny new gas tank! * New fuel filter as well... the old one was almost rusted apart *laughs*
-
I'll post more information about the new 8" when it is available.
-
Some pics I forgot to post of moving the amp rack and box forward : * New box position in the back * The 3000s in place - with box slid up against the rack * I put a piece of tape across to make sure I stayed behind the b-pillar
-
It is quite possible that I will have these next week.
-
Yes, it will.
-
My last part came in today... so I should be getting it fixed up tonight.

Above 16.0 (sixteen point zero) will be bad for your SAX model amps. You will need to have both a 12v and a 16v system anyway - I run my SAX-50.4 in my Jeep on my 12v system. But yes, you can run the 3000s on 16v daily (18-19v charging). I suggest 4-6 Powermaster D1000 16v batteries for two 3000s.

TTT - these are going FAST.
