I might post some pics later ;)

It's not even that big Just wider than the 3500D - length is almost identical!
-
I got word they should hit Charlotte customs around the 16th of this month Get your orders in now if you want some!
-
10" diameter slugs, triple stacked. The pole flare is a bit shallower and narrower than I wanted... but we'll see how it does with testing. I have the coils, spiders, cones, etc waiting for it here! Picture is from the factory, it's on the way to me soon Not showing the other side of the motor yet, sorry guys! And before anyone asks... no ETA on production, I still haven't tested this prototype yet!
-
Correct - you cannot do this.
-
Sicks score Gary! I can't wait to see it when all the amps are in
-
If you are worried about it I'd send it to Chris for sure.
-
Mid August - we usually cut off pre-sales one to two weeks before the amps come in.
-
yes, we keep them in stock
-
Takes some time to get a new prototype - I'll post when it is here!
-
Awesome score Gary - especially on two 1500Ds!
-
It's most likely a knob on the crossover board - probably the gain pot on CH 3 since touching it causes a problem.
-
I believe you sent it to dB-R for repair ? We won't know what happened with it until he is done working on it. Occasionally with all models something will happen that testing didn't pick up - as we can't test every amp for two days

This is the "official" post to be linked in our sticky amp power testing post : ----- This testing done on my Extech True Power meter a full 6-10 seconds in to the burp so we are not catching peak values: http://www.extech.com/instrument/products/...399/380976.html ----- HIGH VOLTAGE TESTING: 6x Powermaster D1000s used for testing 17.9 volts rest - did not measure voltage drop. 10,320 watts from the pair @ 1.5 ohms each after rise starting at 0.5 DCR 5160 each 11,470 watts from the pair @ 1.3 ohms each after rise starting at 0.5 DCR 5735 per amp ----- 12v SYSTEM TESTING: Starting battery + 2x Powermaster D3100s used for testing 3980 @ 0.25 rising to 0.65 @ 11.2v (engine on) 2050 @ 1 rising to 2.44 @ 12.2v (engine off) With a bit more voltage on tap you can easily expect more power.

More than 2000 watts

Is a 3000W amp really a
sundownz replied to 3stagevtec's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Don't concern yourself with impedance curves "daily" -- match up a 1500-watt amp with a 1500-watt sub and you are good Music is not the same as playing one sine wave after the other either... so impedance graphs don't tell you what is going on with music : http://www.audiograph.se/subpages/technica...odamplifier.htm -
Testing from the factory indicates 5800 @ 1 ohm resistive @ 2% THD on 18v. So my testing is actually pretty close to what the factory tested on a test load.
-
You can run two sealed in 2 cubes.
-
It would be at 2 ohms so it would be just a little bit too much - you could *easily* run two with a 1500D.
-
Jacob @ [email protected] Yep!
-
Burps only - and only then if you have a known box rise at the frequency you are using.
-
Thanks Ray and Derrick
-
I have yet to blow a 300-amp fuse with my 3500Ds - it will do fine.
-
Me too Whenever Monsters are production we'll see it.

Sundown Audio and Carlisle Acoustics Results

The new surround is also a bit stiffer - it may call for a slightly larger enclosure to get it moving like the old woofer
