Rating will be 400 RMS. Looking into S4 and D4.

Pictures from the factory : I will be going with a rubber gasket for production. Hoping to have this prototype soon... it's been delayed a few times.

If you have access to a scope you can more accurately set up the amp. If you have an above average impedance rise you may need a bit more voltage on the gain setting.
-
You may need to take it up around 1/8th turn or so after doing the gain setting depending on the recording level of your music.

Apparently my sample went for a trip in Europe, silly shipping companies... but it should be on it's way to me now.
-
It'll go out ASAP - the 1000s are coming in with the 2000s, so we'll start shipping items from that shipment on Friday and all pending orders should be out by Tuesday or so next week.
-
It accepts 4 awg wire.
-
We should start shipping on Friday in the order the pre-order was received. You will know yours has shipped when you get a tracking # @ your Paypal e-mail account or from the dealer you ordered from. Don't blow up my PMs and e-mails asking if your amp has shipped -- just wait to get tracking numbers.

A 2000D running at 1 ohm will not present a problem.

I have 4 or so.

Yes, this customer has an American Bass 1000.1 amplifier -- it is their 10,000 watt model which contains two 5,000 watt amps in one case. http://www.americanbassusa.com/front/showcontent.aspx?fileid=183 He plans to switch to Sundown amps soon because his 1000.1 will not go to a low impedance for burps.

We quit making the E8 -- this will be our smallest 8" for a while. But I am going to start on a bigger one AFTER these are full production and available to customers. T/S aren't released yet.
-
2.5" coil and motor is bigger in OD -- cone and surround are a bit different as well.
-
We didn't get to upload last night -- Derrick has the memory card from the camera so I will link when he uploads them.

My setup has four SA-12s and has done as much as 154.7 dB @ 47 hz with my 3500s wired down pretty low (around 0.3 DCR each) Paul's does 153.1 at 35 hz (that is -- we designed it for music playing at LOW frequencies. Also, his amps (The AB 1000.1 is two 500.1s in one case - we wired each separate) are seeing 1.3 DCR each (close to 2 ohms nominal) so the power is quite low per driver.

I am not sure about this year -- probably 2010 or the end of 2009 at the earliest

You only THINK you don't need anything

I am debating on the rated RMS on the Monster... will depend on how stiff of a spider pack I decide to use on it. I'm not a big fan of ultra stiff but that is what everyone wants... to dump huge power on stuff - and that requires a fairly stiff suspension.
-
Brandon is not having any problems with his Monsters on the 4500s on 12 volts. I do not have a date for the Monster yet but I expect the 4500D at the end of October.

Find a big car if you can -- perhaps a Volvo Wagon if you cannot get a big truck or SUV in Italy.
-
You may do well with a 4th or 6th order band-pass... how much volume do you have (liters) ?
-
Yes, he has two Prototype Monster 18s in the truck for testing. Eventually he will have three of them =) As for your earlier question -- four Nightshades on two 3500s on 18 volts should do well. I would suggest using 18s for maximum SPL.
-
I think the Monster may be what you want... Brandon (employee) has an SAZ-4500D protytpe on each of his prototype Monsters. This setup was built incorrectly for meter for SPL competition but is VERY loud to your ear.
-
We can ship you a big truck I'm sure, haha!

I wouldn't say excessive fragility as he was running around 5000 watts with the 3000Ds on 18v and 1/2 ohm Primarily it was the excessive pressure of the 4th order band-pass destroying the cones and glue joints of speakers -- it did the same thing to any speaker put in there. DD 9500s, RE MTs, and so on. I do not believe he had any voice coil problems with the Nightshades. In any event... for four SAZ-3500Ds I would suggest 16 batteries -- XS Power D3100s would be my choice on 12v. For 16v I would suggest XS Power D1000s and to use 24 of them. --- Some videos of the 4x 18s Truck :
