Very rarely it is necessary if the head unit RCA voltage is so low you cannot get decent output even with gain at maximum.

Indeed. I usually stop pre-ordering when I get word they are close by... ETA end of October.
-
The 100.4 always has been and remains very popular -- not going anywhere any time soon.
-
It is relatively new -- not nearly as popular as I expected based on the number of people that asked for a smaller four channel. I suspect a more power / cheaper amp with less crossover features would be a better seller.

In response to the current economic situation we are lowering our MAP pricing. Cost for our amps from an authorized dealer outside of a pre-order or special sale have changed as follows : SAZ-1000D : $355 OLD / $315 NEW SAZ-1500D : $570 OLD / $500 NEW SAZ-2000D : $670 OLD / $615 NEW SAX-125.2 : $255 OLD / $240 NEW SAX-100.4 : $395 OLD / $365 NEW The prices listed under "NEW" are now available at any authorized Sundown dealer. I sent out a dealer news-letter this morning, so if your dealer has any questions have them call me.

I have a fair amount - they are 1000 RMS.

The Z15s did quite well in the recent woofer round up as well I might add : http://www.caraudioclassifieds.org/forum/s...ead.php?t=12089 "Z15 wins my award for best sounding thus far. in the 3.5 at 38hz it was so clean and crisp. I know this is mostly judged by ear but anyone who heard it could agree." http://www.caraudioclassifieds.org/forum/s...ead.php?t=12086 http://www.caraudioclassifieds.org/forum/s...ead.php?t=12085 http://www.caraudioclassifieds.org/forum/s...ead.php?t=12088

E actually has a meaning "Entry Level" series. Most of the other letters are just cool part number letters that match the amps

Un-Pinning this topic... but I do still have some.

I bought out all of the QC failed SI BM 10s (old models) and re-built them with several changes: 1) Slightly longer flat-wound coil (original was round wire) - USA made coils 2) Narrower / Taller Surround 3) Tied down tinsel leads Measured T/S Specs (coils in series): RE: 6.89 ohms Z: 8 ohms Fs: 27.2 Hz Qes: 0.56 Qms: 3.32 Qts: 0.48 Le: 2.8 mH Vas: 31.1 L BL: 16.2 NA Mms: 124 grams Power: 400 watts RMS 0.95 ft^3 SEALED BOX - F3 of 41 Hz 1.5 ft^3 ported tuned to 30 - 35 Hz for high output I have about 40 of these... $125 shipped in the continental USA for one $240 shipped in the continental USA for two $440 shipped in the continental USA for four Ask about more than that! These are blow-out items and sold with no warranty beyond a no DOA guarantee. I can built re-cones for them for a while as I did get about 25 sets of extra parts! They are pretty tough with a 2.5" diameter flat coil, though Nice sounding drivers.

There is no figuring - the clamp reads out power - see the videos. http://www.extech.com/instrument/products/310_399/380976.html

Uploading 4500D results now.

I will make an official post when I am ready.
-
I don't think so - with so many it will be very efficient.
-
We were taking most brands of amps... there are some things I will NOT take based on my experience from before (I will not accept MTX amps unless you will accept REALLY low credit).
-
You have four 3 ohm speakers per door ? Bridge a 100.4 per side at 3 ohms... what is the DCR ?
-
VERY little demand for a high current Class A/B amp, IMO. None of the Class-D amps LPF goes above 300 Hz.
-
The amp will not play over 300 -- the LPF is non-defeatable and maximum setting is 300 Hz.

More power this time... current clamp shows ONE coil. We hooked each coil up to a seperate 120v circuit for a total power of ~8800 watts at the start, dropped to the 7000s then stayed around that point until failure at 30 seconds. Prior to this video we had JUST finished plugging it in to one socket in series for around 2000 watts for FIVE MINUTES - so it was already hot! The Monster lives up to it's name. If you are wondering about the frame... Brandon had two in his wall without motor supports and it broke off some of the screws allowing the bottom to swing out and break off the top of the frame. So... motor supports are a must.

A 1500 at 1/2 is more powerful than a 3000 at 2

What did it do on the meter with the LVL-5 ?
