4-5 cubes is what most folks use on the 18s. Tune to your taste between 30 and 40 hz.
-
There will be more detailed pictures when the motors arrive -- 3-4 weeks I estimate.

Yes ! Some pictures vs the SA-12. This thing is MEAN... cannot wait to get it in a box. VIDEO ! We had a 1500D @ 1 ohm on it... not using all the power, but we got on it pretty hard.
-
That is an adequate box size if you must use them sealed. They will still do alright -- but it's not optimal.

I sheared the aluminum former in two -- didn't break any glue joints or thermal the coil. I suspect I bottomed out my triple joint ring on the top plate hard enough that the shock broke off the former. Of course I had 2000 or so watts per sub at this point too -- something has to go eventually. I will add a LITTLE more rearward clearance on production models so even doing that will be slightly more difficult.

-1 was too much with the 4500D -- woops

SPL per watt testing (total power... divide by 2 for each woofer): 330 watts = 143.9 dB (HU @ -10 sub control) 430 watts = 144.8 dB (HU @ -9 sub control) 580 watts = 145.6 dB (HU @ -8 sub control) 750 watts = 146.4 dB (HU @ -7 sub control) 990 watts = 147.2 dB (HU @ -6 sub control) 1290 watts = 147.8 dB (HU @ -5 sub control) 1710 watts = 148.5 dB (HU @ -4 sub control) 2260 watts = 149.1 dB (HU @ -3 sub control) 3010 watts = 149.9 dB (HU @ -2 sub control) Going to try -1 shortly after they cool off... I dropped a 4500D in the Jeep instead so I am a bit more flexible on power if I decide to put something different in for any upcoming shows. So I have the potential to put more power than I have before on them now.

They are running behind the end of October ETA... I will post any updates as I get them.
-
SOLD OUT. If you have not already talked to me or placed your order then you will have to wait for the next run more than likely.
-
Production coil samples are not here yet, so no.

75% of the e-mails I get require me to answer them myself as nobody else knows the answers.

I had spoken with someone in Australia before but they didn't come through.

Kick panel score also gained 1 dB - now 151.4 dB:
-
Video of 150.0 dB sealed on the dash score
-
... make that 150.0 with two 8s Duct tape FTW + our other improvements (round over, sealed up port, wires through brass rods). ON TO THE SCORE ! I'll work on actually taking a video shortly and backing the score up... our camera man Derrick wasn't here today to get it the first time
-
Box Tweaks to be tested : 1) Rounded corners 2) Wires out of port - replaced by brass threaded rod 3) Port carriage siliconed to box and port also siliconed to carriage 4) Duct tape instead of rubber gaskets... the hole cut outs with a bit off so this may help
-
Setup is pretty simple -- here are a few still pictures : The platform for the box consists of some random wood scraps... I didn't want the subs firing into the amp rack / amps so I raised it up a bit to about 0.75" under the window line. Could probably gain a few tenths taking the wires out of my port... but I haven't gotten to the optimizing phase yet. We just built the box today and dropped it in!

Outlaw Video : 150.4 in the kick panel also at 53 Hz.
-
One 3500D @ 1/2 ohm.
-
Sealed on the dash video : Outlaw score best... 150.4 dB as of now. Same frequency, 53 Hz. Uploading Outlaw video shortly.

So far in my testing... I've gotten 149.0 dB from my pair of SA-8s @ 53 Hz in my Jeep. New box layout that I've never tested before... sub forward / port back
